I just picked this up on discount for $20. For the Titus alone, it's worth it. The tyranid value is absolutely ABSURD. The hype for space marine 2 launching next week is real lol
When a friend told me the price my jaw dropped, they only charged for a character model but you get so much it's crazy I can't wait to see you paint him up Great video as always Andy
Target toy exclusives are common in action figure world. The figures sometimes roll around packaged in other exclusives later on, but it is not guaranteed. Common exclusives are gift packs with lots of repacks of regular release figures with one or two unique 'chase' figures.
@@kingvamp6664 I’ve checked half a dozen targets since then in my work travels, haven’t seen any other stores put them on clearance yet, but you bet I’ll be keeping my eyes out!
Ahhh, this takes me back to the original 'Space Marine' board game where you were fighting with 'Epic' sized minifigures. This one seems more similar to the old 'Space Hulk' board game where you were fighting genestealers. Memories...
Outstanding box and I hope it comes across the pond very soon, especially for that price. Hope you do more unboxing and review videos, I always value your opinions. Thanks again!
I just ordered this from their website. My local Target rarely ever has anything in stock, especially exclusives. Looking forward to painting Lt Titus.
I’m sure I saw on warcom that it’s coming to other countries… Japan and Germany maybe? Hopefully it comes out worldwide eventually. Edit: found it: “The board game of the video game of the tabletop wargame arrived at Target stores in the USA earlier in the year - and it now comes to selected retail partners in Japan and Germany.” 26th august. I live in Japan and no sign of it yet though (they also said the kill team space marine heroes boxes were out here but they’re not so who knows when it’ll actually come out…)
Fair with the ETB criticism I have noticed the Newest ETB models are better than the earlier versions with the difficulty of putting them together. Especially the Termagaunts.
Just went to target for a jacket and saw this. Had never seen it before so looked at the back and saw the units and INSTANTLY picked it up. Never painted nids but always wanted to, and Titus is just the cherry on top
For anyone outside of the US, maybe "Ship7" is an option? They take in domestic only packages from stores and transfer them to international carriers... We can use this for buying from the UK in the US to dodge the 'Merica tax.
I bought 4 boxes. Now I've got 80 Termagants, 4 Lieutenants, 24 dices, 4 ruler and 4 terrainboard for approx 100 bucks. Because retailer gave a discount :DDDDD
Just stopped in to Target to pick up a second one. I had bought it for the Lt. Titus model initially and put him together after Orktober last year but never painted him and decided a couple weeks back that my wierd collection of mini of the month Primaris Marines were going to become Black Templars and wanted another Titus model to convert into a Marshal or Castellan.
@@MediocreHobbies the best part is that it was on sale for $9 off the regular price. I only popped in to see if they magically had any left in stock for my little project and glad to find out that they did. I don't know if Target is better than whatever local box retail stores you have in Ireland, I've now been in one four times and half of those visits were to get the game and the other two involved buying only one thing that I couldn't get somewhere else as well. Of course we have a lot of options for big box retail stores here so that could be part of it. Honestly I miss when there were no big retail stores and everything came from small specialty stores, but that's just me.
I can’t believe I live five minutes away from a Target store and had to find out from someone outside of the United States, that this is being sold there! I’m on my way to pick one up😊
A detail on the Titus mini I thought was weird, is that the left shoulder doesn't have the sculpted ultramarine emblem on it like in the upgrade sprue; it's already plastered all over the little guy, why not add it there too?
Found two boxes at target for $20 each. I snatched them up!😊 Originally I just wanted Lt. Titus, then I saw how attractive the game looks in your review. It looks great for interrior missions.
The trick to push fit is to cut a little off the peg or cut it all off and glue it. would recommend not gluing arms or feet so you can paint in the hard to reach places.
It appears that these are the Termagant sprues from the Leviathan box, which are push-fit and only come with the 1 weapon option; therefore, not the "10 model box" now being sold which will have multiple weapon options. Last I checked, ebay prices for 10-model termagants parted out from the Leviathan box were going for about $2 per model so $40 would get you 20 "leviathan" termagants (+rippers). This Target game box retails for about $40? So you can either focus on the $40 Titus model with a 20 free Termagants/dice/game board/rules or the other way around, $40 worth of Leviathan Termagants and get a free Titus model/dice/game board/rules... At the end of the day I don't play Ultramarines and it wasn't worth converting (removing all the Ultramarines logos) it to make a model that is so similar to an existing Assault Intercessor pose.
@@MediocreHobbies Yep, I was excited at first but then looked into it more. Definitely a deal if you're into Ultramarines and want Titus specifically. It's not a bad deal, I just feel it is a deal for a more select group and I found myself outside that group. I got my +20 Leviathan Termagants for $1/model early before the going price became $2/model. I look forward to you painting up Titus.
I remember when Woolworths used to get Target exclusive stuff in. Back in the early 2000s, I grabbed the Target exclusive Ultra Magnus vs. Skywarp Transformers set. Good Times. I don't see myself getting the box, IF I did I would definitely do like you've done and cut the pegs off Titus and assemble him with a little more direction to his pose, might even swap his arms with some from the Assault Intercessors kit. I'd also consider buying the box of 10 Termagants that come with the new weapon sprue so you can vary up the equipment they have. Certainly something I'd do. The only place that might get it is GAME, I remember they got the chance to sell the Space Marine Adventures boardgames. Nice video, though. I'm trying to move away from unboxings as I'm currently getting a lot of interest for rpg coverage and paint guides, which I've always wanted to do anyway.
Good review :) I'm still astonished. 23 miniatures, one of them a 30€ character sprue and they still only charge 40$. And then we've got sprues that make 5 man squads for 50$ with 70-80% of the content go to your "bits" box and will never be used again.
I ordered my space marine board game yesterday and the 2 combat Arena games too. 30€/game is fair. I want it for the game. The minis are a welcome bonus. It's not TARGET exclusive 😂 in Germany 🇩🇪 we got many markets how sell it.
FWIW I haven't seen any of the Barnes and Noble stuff at another retailer, but of course people do buy them retail and then when they are out of stock try to sell them at heavily inflated prices.
This may seem a bit out of left field but how would you personally go about painting the Eldar Craftworld Mymeara? There's an old GW Duncan video that was really good but with the discontinuation of Waywatcher Green Glaze has caused me to struggle a bit trying to find an alternative that retains such a simple process. Thanks.
So, does this game prove that GW is perfectly capable of selling models at reasonable non-crackhead prices and still turn a healthy profit, but refuses to do so out of pure corporate greed? Because the only other explanation I can think of is this is being used as a loss leader to try and attract newcomers into buying proper 40k sets.
I think I may have gotten the score of the 41st millennium from one of my local Target stores last night. As you may or may not know Target will occasionally price things for clearance whether they're discontinuing something or it's damaged. Apparently they had a couple of damaged Space Marine: The Board Game box sets originally retailing for $39.99. As you can see here I managed to score a set for the deep discount price of $11.99 plus tax. That's a 71% discount!!! And for everything you get it's a true bargain. 20 termagants, 2 ripper swarms, and Lt. Titus himself. You also get a rule book, a gameboard, six d6's, and a range ruler. Even at retail 40 bucks is a steal for over $100 worth of miniatures. However because I got mine for so cheap that's like 10%!! HOLY CRAP!! Heads up to anyone who fields Tyranids.
Bruh… I was wandering target yesterday and saw one on the damn Clearance shelf in the toy department. Then I saw there were two of them. And they were both $12. Yeah, I guess I’m starting a Tyranid army now.

No. Just no. The Titus model is horrible, he looks like his is stumbling around drunk and is in the middle of falling over. At least your way of assembly made it look a bit better than GW did. Then we have the poorly sculpted face and silly expression, the old Sternguard kit had a great Titus head in it and Dakka Dakka got a great alternative. Yeah they’re definitely getting better and for stuff like termagaunts it’s a good system, just makes things very monopose for characters!
No objections with that. Lets hope things can become more expanded in the future as they get better with these techniques.
Great value if you want more termagants and that one particular marine.
Yes that is indeed true.
I’d prefer the chain sword and the pistol switched over to the opposite hands so more like the game artwork!
