    Just like the last time: In case anyone's wondering why I write "on average" and " for about" so much here, it's because DoT effects in DRG have variable tickrates. So there's a bit of RNG involved, and these kill timings are on average.

    Really thorough analysis. This means that I don't actually lose a lot of dps when opting for t5a slowdown, which is great for my Goo Bomber Special build with long-lasting burning streaks of puddles. Thanks a lot!

      t5a could be good for a melee driller build, no?

    • @thetdy1
      @thetdy1 3 роки тому +2

      @@fungling7982 I've thought about this with the same intention but what happens is everyone else kills them so fast you don't have a chance to get good use out of the drills. With the sludge slowdown, epc lighting it on fire, and persistent plasma for more aoe slow down I found my self just keeping up sludge puddles, persistent plasma and making sure they were on fire while my team finished them off worked best. Maybe on haz 5 you might actually be able to use drills but for haz 4 you can't. And I really tried lol I could barely activate vampire for health regen during a swarm so any ranged chip dmg was really annoying lol

      well. You are losing almost 20% DPS which isn't small either. I don't feel like trading ~20% dps for 20% slow is a good idea since even base pump will drop bugs speed to 35%

    • @Failzz8
      @Failzz8 2 роки тому +4

      @@1222dss You're giving up a 100% slow effect increase for a 20% corrosive dps increase and while 35% combined slow is probably enough for most uses, you're most likely not applying direct hit+puddle to every single bug and just the puddle slow by itself without t5a is kinda shit.

    • @1222dss
      @1222dss 2 роки тому

      @@Failzz8 which is again irrelevant most of the time cuz even basic slow is sufficient to dodge packs of bugs easily, meanwhile killing bugs faster makes dodging also more convenient

    Recently started using max area of splash + max slow build with the overclock for more puddles from charge shot, then fire damage on EPC. Fire spreads around the goop puddle, it's like throwing a molotov on top of the goop puddle and more than makes up for the lower damage while keeping the bugs in the puddle for longer due to the slow focus, lots of fun!

      if you use Goo Bomber Special with this your puddles will last for 24 seconds. Creates literal firewalls. Sticky flames+ baby!

    It's nice seeing the difference between the builds in play here and also on the spread sheet. Personally, after watching this video, I switched from t5b to t5a with the HIA OC because I value the extra slowing power over increased DPS. I played a mission and liked the change, so thanks. I have settled on using the Sludge Pump on elimination and escort missions,. I really like it for those mission types. I love the Cryo Cannon, but it's nice to switch to something else every once in a while.

    Glad to see someone else crunching numbers and actually testing the guns performance post reworks. I was busy doing this as well. Imo, the gun is pretty good, people need to stop screaming like it’s useless. There’s some serious team combinations you can pull off with it as well, such as pheromones/lure, electric, and fire to just ball them all in a group puddle and let them kill each other. It’s no impact cryo instant nuke hordes, but it’s CC support and team combo potential is nuts

    So what would be the better last tier option for the goo bomber special ?

    • @LazyMaybe
      @LazyMaybe  3 роки тому +10

      You're probably trying to maximize the time they spend in puddles with goo bomber, so likely t5a.

    I see that the problem with the weapon is that very few user use it correctly.

    any idea how long the sludge pump actually takes to charge? I can't find that stat on the wiki and in game it's just labeled as "100% charge speed" which doesn't help at all.

    it looks like HIA barely does anything in slow or Damage (10% & 5% slow, and +2 DoT), and the critical factor is T5A or B for damage or slow respectively. frankly you could pick another overclock and really not notice much loss.

    I would love to see some other developer take Deep Rock Galactic from (GSG) Ghost Ship Games' meddling hands.
    The idea of "balancing the game" for a PvE game has gotten so meddling that these videos, wikis, forum/Reddit posts get outdated in a fleeting pace. Are players not allowed to enjoy the game as is? I would rather not keep seeing GSG incessantly buffing and nerfing weapons and OCs on a whim, when players share their discoveries.
    It baffles me when GSG make changes that leaves me scratching my head, I'm glad I just started playing this game on OCT 2020, so I did not witness the major overhaul to the perks and whatnot from its early access days to U34. I'll make an educated guess that GSG has probably deterred a lot of long time players/fans of DRG throughout the years. Quite a shame really, I wished there was a developer for an unique shooter PvE game such as DRG to focus solely on adding content (gameplay and cosmetics) rather than constantly changing game mechanics left and right. If this game has a PvP aspect, then I would completely understand the idea of balancing the game with buffs and nerfs.
