Definitely needed this today. Thank you! I had two poles and my entire tackle box stolen out of my vehicle at work today. 10 years of stuff. 😭 no cameras, no witnesses, nothing. Thank you for making these videos. It seriously helps people more than you probably realize. Keep on keeping on! :]
Might sound ridiculous to some, but, for those that unfortunately don't and will never have an old school bait shop, your talent would fit right into that section of bass pro with the fly guys. My little dudes and I love that place. Nothing but good memories.
Ahhh yesss a sip of the good ol cup of Joe with metal and wood fumes mixed in with it. Reminds of construction workers or mechanics eating their lunch with dirty hands. 🙏
Absolutely love it that you're working outside your comfort zone continue to do that we love watching it whether you succeed or fail we absolutely love this we all get to learn from this and Someday by merely putting in the effort you're going to come up with something fantastic that'll be revolutionary
Love all your builds. what i thing would be cool is a hybrid of wood and soft plastics. maybe the head and half the body is wood then the back half and all the fins be soft plastics. that would be fun to see a build on and its action in the water.
I think I speak for alot of people when I say it would be really interesting to see you tackle a "super realism" type of lure. It's a great way to test your painting and I think the end result could be an amazing fish catching machine!!!
I like how nate builds his baits based off of theory instead of science. It’s like if a bait company made their lure designs without the hydro scientist involved and just doing what they think will work with imagination.
If you just made a unique blade bait based on blade bait principles, you would absolutely kill it. But here we are watching you catch bass on that copper, wood, and lead thang regardless, you druggo! Keep up the unprecedented innovation!
This is what makes your channel so unique bro This is what we want to see crazy ideas put to the test I haven't commented much but I've been here since day one #greatestbaitmakerofALLtime
Awesome work, Nate, and it looks like a massive imorovement from the first crack at the copper blades! Would love to see another shot at the jerkbait someday 🙏
The metal going helicopter on the drill press, that's how a got scar trying to make a gravity blade knife in middle school. Still visible 60 years later😂.
Bro, that one spot looks absolutely beautiful😲💙 17:47 that looks tropical and movie like. I live in south central Arizona and we ain't got nothing that looks like that around here
Funny you mentioned metal wearing out … when I was young and was the original bassin assassin after watching enter the dragon ! A fishing show was on as we were gearing up to head out on a 50 min drive to a super pond near lake Anita in Iowa . The guy said buzzbaits sound better as they wear . So he said tie a new buzz bait on your antenna and let the wind wear it before using it so we stopped at a local bait and tackle store bought a new buzz bait at twice I woulda paid at Walmart but you must support local and get grumped at by the old dude was kinda funny … worth it I figured. Well end of the story we arived and I got out imagining 5-6 pounders exploding until my arms hurt and my thumbs were bleeding ! Untied my newly worn buzzbait and after close inspection the blade was clear wore out lol garbage . Last time I tried anything a pro fisherman mentioned anything I listened too 😢. Lmao what a day that was .
I ran a fabric store for making clothing in Bozeman Mt. for 8 years and I carried a complete line of everything needed to fish that I could find. Nice inventory and an interesting clientele.
I could see this being a handy lure to use in deep-water scenarios, especially. It's heavy enough to get down towards the bottom quickly, and it seems to have the action where it could be used equally well as a deep-running lipless crankbait or as a large-profile bladebait. I would definitely consider using this lure if given the chance!
??? Did I miss it? Usually a regular here at your channel. The bandsaw table top... a great deal of the past has Inevitably been put aside for growth, prosperity ( your words ) Thank you for all the time having fun and learning.
Nate, you could try making an engraved and painted spoon, get out the ball peen hammer and do a little wackin for the concave. Etc. Copper plate does have a great bait, it's just outside the wood..
Interesting video The other one with the metal on the belly I made a 3" long Minnow with a 3/8" tapered to nothing strip of metal I used chrome plated brass and used the metal as all the weight of the lure This works great , as it just slightly sinks
Nice video! It's been a long time since you made anything small or like a micro bait. It'd be cool to see you make something and fish for trout on an ultralight setup.
GREAT VIDEO 👍I made one very similar a few years back but used aluminium instead of copper..got loads of perch & pike with it....I called mine the SCUTTLE CAT.
I have a lure Idea. A Tresher shark. They have really big eyes and a special looking tailfin. Love the Videos. You inspired me to make my own.. keep up the amazing work.
It's the shocker - steel on copper is creating voltage and current flow when it gets all wet up in there. Bigger fish h8n on all that voltage. Nice build.
Love the videos you make :) You should try do more stuff with flashing doides. And if you don´t want them to flash all the time you can stick one of the "legs" to the diod out in to the water and make it so the water connect the circuit to the battery
We love u nate.
I love your moms nicely shaped honky
@@ncaa12cfb92 well she's 60 so enjoy I guess
@@L1mbo gilfs😍🥵
@@L1mbo even better
wtf is this comment feed
you should totally make a Dinosaur bait! like a mosasaurus swimmer would be sick. love the videos Nate!
Ooh... a trilobite lure?
Moby Dick could be cool
I don’t want to be that guy… but mosasaurs we’re aquatic reptiles, not dinosaurs.
👍😎
@@masterfuego the definition of dinosaur is literally just fossil reptile from the Mesozoic era.
Definitely needed this today. Thank you!

Thank you for making these videos. It seriously helps people more than you probably realize.
Keep on keeping on! :]
My kids interest in fishing and your vids have inspired me to make my first single joint swim
Lmk how it goes! I’ve been doing the same
@mekosloff slow lol got 5 kids. Have it carved and drilled is about as far as I've come.
Seriously, man. You should be a consultant for bass pro shops-literally. Awesome, man.
Might sound ridiculous to some, but, for those that unfortunately don't and will never have an old school bait shop, your talent would fit right into that section of bass pro with the fly guys.
My little dudes and I love that place. Nothing but good memories.

Best channel on UA-cam. My 48 year old parents enjoy this just as much as I (28) and my son (4). Thanks for everything!

Who would have thought the words “ one day” can bring so much excitement!
17:30 OHHH Im soo glad you did that I was thinking he could have been stuck there too!
Just starting the video. Never seen a bait like that before. Interesting concept. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Who’s rob?
@@the_ff_guy I have no idea who rob is.
Lol
What's a "hydro scientist" for? You know baits are designed to catch anglers and not fish, right? :p
Ya never cease to come up with cool designs!
This might be one of my favorite videos ever..
Another day coming fresh off work to a marling baits video nights off to a awesome start one day for the win
So I've been watching your channel for well over a year, and I still to this day say, " one day" at work all the time! Thank you for that!!
MB is the best bait maker ever! 😊
New marling bait VIDEO! Oh heck yea! Love your work nate!
We love you here in Scotland.
Haven't watched your videos in a while glad to see you still on the grind
My favourite UA-cam channel!!
Love it like all your videos nate, when I see the silver peel it made me think of snagging a shad
"On to the next bait!"
Chip -"That's my cue! My time to shine!!"
Awesome video and lure yet again sir! 👊🏼
The energy at 8 am is phenomenal
Dang, I can only wish I was this talented
The missing silver scale effect is awesome! We’ll planned !🤣
THAT is a cool idea!!!

Can't wait to see how this swims!
Another killer bait... I love to see the new designs you come up with!👍
If you turn it upside down without the metal piece it looks like the old “Floppy”. One of the best baits ever!
Tarpon swimbait we epic to see and some fun facts! Great video as always

Copper top cutie-petutie… Im sold!
So cool! I like it and might try something similar 🙌🏻
When you stumbled on the rocks, it gave me ptsd from when I snapped my ankle while I was walking on rocks when I was 10 😅
One day you may strike gold. Love your GSD! ❤️🐾🐺

The “tribe” bait haha
Love the one days. :)
I really like that one. Makes me think ocean, I'm bord of jugging. Time to "not jig" the coper top...
Such a Bob Ross thing to say about the scales!! Happy little accidents make a better piece!!
GREAT VIDEO 👍I made one very similar a few years back but used aluminium instead of copper..got loads of perch & pike with it....I called mine the SCUTTLE CAT.
Nice .22 on the doorway Nate!
This bait looks awesome! Almost as awesome as a floppy pink human swim bait in 2023! Let's make it O-FISH-AL!
Nice. Cant wait until Finn is old enough to fish with you in these videos.
You should do a Chip lure. That would be cool.
A chip fly would be so cool!
I have a lure Idea. A Tresher shark. They have really big eyes and a special looking tailfin. Love the Videos. You inspired me to make my own.. keep up the amazing work.
The lures are getting crazy around here! Time for you to make a wooden worm! Basically the wooden version of a soft plastic Texas rig
lol! 8:31,,is this a one day?????? yessss
i have a feeling we won't be singing 'super glue and baking soda'
i was wrong wooooo
BEAUTIFUL paint job
HERO STATUS ACHIEVED! OFISHAL!
Yay! Wasn't expecting a video
How about a one day with your take on three sizes of the classic flatfish crank bait? One size for panfish, one for bass, and one for pike and muskie.
Great content as usual
Man it's been a while since I've having seen you it's great to see you again
Very interesting bait!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY NATE!!!
Amazing video as always. I was wondering if you could try making a soft plastic with a built in lip made out of the same soft plastic material.
Supper,,,(pradattör)👍👍👍👍
chip and i have the same reaction when we see videos posted
woohoo, i get to watch the video in the first 4 min of release!
Your baits ate amazing I want to learn how to create the same quality baits
