“Oh my honey, that looks great!” “THANKS” 😂 I can tell you’re getting more comfortable making videos, going from not talking to adding bits of humor and personality to the vids. Love it👍🏻
I'm consistently amazed by your painting skills. Nearly EVERY video I'm like "NOOOO don't use THAT color you're going to mess up your beautiful paint job!" And then you show it after and it's gorgeous. "FLUORESCENT AQUA, ARE YOU MAD?!" Then you produce a stunning largemouth baby bass with perfect colors and I am just left with my jaw hanging open. It's insane. Such an artist, so impressed!
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
So we all know that his baits can catch fish, but can we all take a moment to appreciate his art skills with the airbrush and matching natural colors. It’s really impressive how well he’s able to recreate the natural colorations of fish
viktor kravets They do look cool. I would guess that objections are rooted in concern for strength, as sharp metal corners are more subject to fatigue and failure than rounded ones. Makes me think of the square windows on Dehavilland Comets. Realistically, not an issue on these small lures, but a legit concern for heavy trolling baits intended for use in saltwater.
Just like how you read facts on bugs, animals, etc... you should read facts on lures styles, because I’d love to know some facts on how poppers were discovered
They were discovered by simply watching feeding fish, frogs, etc. I dont know who discovered it. But it was just simply design mimicking nature. Like most baits
@@ahti29 umm thats not what i said.. Apparently i watch his videos.. The reason for making baits, worm, crank, etc, is because fisherman imitate natural bait. No bofy said they were all the same

I bought myself some basswood, epoxy clear coat stuff, bunch of carving knives, and some stiff stainless steel wire because of you. Thanks. Now I'm an addict. I live in florida and fish mainly saltwater, so I'm making a topwater for speckled seafront and red drum. Its a blast. I've lost hours today
A 5 or 6 inch “mirror carp” would be an awesome lure. The variation in scale patterns would give a good opportunity to demonstrate some skilled carving 👌🏻

I have been slowly watching all your videos in both art, design , personalty, yours is my favorite lure making an fishing channel, may you an yours continue to do well.
Subtly funny, honest and humble. You're one of the only youtubers worth a subscribe in the fishing community, I'm saving up to buy one of your lures because i can respect the time and energy that it takes to make these baits. I'd like to see some Rapala style stick baits in a rainbow trout pattern, the big bass in New Jersey love eating stocked rainbow trout. Keep em' coming and tight lines brother!
Love the video ...I learned wat i was doing wrong with my poppers ...i love the baby bass popper ...now I'm wanna make my own ...thank u & keep the great videos coming
@@gexotic4668 Well, not necessarily. There are indeed topwater poppers that sink below the surface and rise up top during the retrieve. Such poppers are popular with surfcasters, where you want that extra weight to get extra casting distance with heavier surf rods (look up the Atom Striper Swiper, for instance)
I just found your channel, and I subscribed because I used to carve my own fishing lures out of white pine, when I was a boy. Great job on the popper. In the thumbnail, it looked like a factory made lure, molded out of thermoplastic. My first lure I carved was a bullfrog tadpole with a single treble hook underneath. The first time I caught a bass with it is a moment I'll never forget.
Congrats on the baby! My son just turned 2 months yesterday, and I can attest to the fact that things will change, you may not get out fishing as much, but you'll likely need some time here or there, and building baits might be perfect. I watch all these and like psh he makes that look easy and then I start trying to draw out the design of a potential lure and give up. Loving the one day builds
Wow buddy, I love watching you create lures of random types. I just watched you create that tiny crankbait, and now watching you make this topwater popper I have a whole new respect for what goes into creating handmade lures. You should make a 3 jointed catfish, the whiskers should be soft plastic, love your vids
I second the catfish lure!

Try doing a pike swimbait since they're known cannibals
I also agreee, maybe a Northern Hog Sucker patterned Rubber Swimbait,. I enjoy the inspiration. I am definalty entertained.
