- A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer noticed two dogs tethered in the back seat of a minivan. With her hands, the officer tried to force the barely cracked window further down. When that didn't work, she grabbed a crowbar, and shattered the window. Police say the air temperature at the time was 100 degrees F, and the interior of the van was topping 110 degrees. The little dogs were taken for medical treatment and then to a shelter. The pet owners are under investigation.
Their owner should be arrested IMMEDIATELY 🤬🤬🤬

A friend kept their dog in their car but kept the ac on and only left it for short time. Someone got mad at him, the dog looked fine.

It's illegal too. Why would they do that?
The fact that there were pee-pads left in the car with the dogs proves the owner knew good & well that they were going to be purposely left there for an extended period of time
I assume maybe they were staying at an apartment that didnt allow for dogs.

Yes absolutely but the "problem" with that is... These types of people will still always be able to adopt or buy a new pet. Maybe not in their home state but next state over sure probably and unfortunately.
I literally don't understand how there's not a law in place that would work like this. If you're caught abhsing animals, like this for example, then you should literally be sent to prison if you're caught owning another animal.

facts the owners thought leaving the sunroof open would be fine but thats where most of the heat came in, and got trapped with the windows up... for sure it was 110 in there

Amazing how in 2024 people don't recognize that dogs and children shouldn't be left in hot cars and that you shouldn't drive drunk or run stop signs. I'm glad I have the gift of critical thinking and common sense. Stay safe people.

Perhaps the owner (guardian) only intended to be away from the car for just a few minutes.
The inside of a car can get hotter than the actual air temperature, never leave ur children or pets in a car for not even a few minutes if it's hot outside

Sat in the car while my hubs was pumping gas and it was over 100 degrees and within a minute I was already dying. It got so hit so quick. I can only imagine how these pups felt.
My wife and I had a rule when we were out with our dog in the car, one of us stayed with the dog with the AC on while the other did whatever shopping or whatever was needed. Some people don't deserve pets.

I fell asleep in a car during the summer while my mom went to the store and in a few minutes woke up gasping for air. Luckily I was 20 years old and was able to get out the car and cool down.

Omg poor babies! I did a small little road trip with my sister and my two dogs and and when we would stop I always stayed inside the car with the dogs or outside. Why would anyone let them alone inside a car?

The fact there were pads for them to go to the bathroom, but also no water in sight just shows you that the owner knew they'd be there awhile.
Even with water and the window BARELY cracked.. It was still too hot and like torture for these poor dogs!

The owner should be arrested for animal cruelty. This is just a sad display.
You know it kills me that people do this to animals. It just shows you that they have no actual love for their pets. This person should be arrested and thrown in prison for at least five years with no air conditioning
Why do people do this? With kids and animals, it just makes no sense plus it’s way hotter in the car than outside so I know it’s approaching like 120 degrees in there. Even if you’re going into the store for 5 minutes that’s all it takes
One thing that I love about our country is that we decided that pets matter and put it into law. We did that. As a people and a species.

This reminds me of something that happened years ago when I lived in Phoenix. A police officer left his official police dog in his car, and it died from heat exhaustion. The only penalty he got was being fired.
Just like it keeps being said for having a licence to have kids you should have a license to own pets too. This is unacceptable in this day in age, people need to stop doing this to their pets.

It’s been 120 this week and the next 3 days it’s 117. We don’t even walk our dogs anymore cause even at night it’s still 95 degrees. No one should be taking their dogs anywhere right now. Vegas is just to hot at the moment.

My friend and I had to call the police about a dog locked in a totally closed up vehicle in 30+ Celsius weather. No sign of where the owner was. Police broke the window and took the limp dog to a vet. We left shortly after as well. I bet the owner called the police as quickly as we did, but the dog would have been dead! Stupid people, stop taking your pets with you, only to leave them in the car! They’re happier at home, your car is intact, you don’t have a big fine and repair bill, and you’re not in jail! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
