Speechless. Maybe the best collection/film of Loic's long career. Dont miss the end..watch with the subtitles so you can clearly hear what the designer mother says. I was in tears. Thank you, Loic

20 minutes in the ‘monumental’-quota is spent for the day.

Dorian was the best, though chris's was very good too. And It IS a portrait competition.

2 of the 3 short listed ones were fantastic...either one would have been a great choice...I preferred Dorian's, but Chris' captured more like the sitter "felt" ...I did NOT like the girl's painting at all...I can't understand why Ty keeps liking strange portraits in the short list 3

Agree...its Portrait Artist of the year not Blurry Vision that could be Anybody artist of the year.

It's not Ty, it's the women judges who want modern and the more bizarre the better for them. Barf.

I have to say that some of the judges' comments, revealing their petty likes and dislikes, border on the fatuous.

do they do 4 continuous hours?? i get the feeling they have lunch half way through, just from things the presenters say now and then. like she said the sitter 'would be feeling it' by 3pm which may mean they start at 11am, which is a really strange time to start

DORIANS PICTURE HAD LIFE, TO me that was a living, breathing PERSON. The other one was good but didn't catch the personality nearly as well.

I don't understand how the Mermaid painting didn't get chosen to home with her. I don't like experimental art. Oh Tai, you are so full of it. That's a terrible attitude.

I think it's great that show overrepresent Black residents which only constituted around 3 per cent of the United Kingdom's population. Keep up the good work!

But they are culturally important people, pop culture at least.
I find darker skin more difficult to paint. Perhaps that’s a consideration when picking models ?
