I always check your reviews first on a watch I might be looking for, before I watch any others. You know what you are talking about and I have a high level of trust with you. Thank you for what you do and the time and thought you put into your reviews.
Just scored one a few months ago. Overall, a handsome watch. Even though it's 44, wears a little smaller. The non watch people at first glance think it's Swiss. Yep, have a few of the Big Boys (Rolex, Breitling, Omega), several Seiko SK Divers, but really like wearing this Casio Duro Marlin.
Got 3 of them. Put them on a Vario elastic strap. Great watch, a couple of mm smaller would be ideal but the weight is good. The date printing could be a bit more bold but so be it. All of mine hit the second marks perfectly.
I was looking at this watch a few weeks ago and it looks like a great watch for the price. I however did find another Casio dive watch which is ideal for a smaller wrist like mine. The watch in question is the Casio MTD1053D with a water resistance of 200m and has a screwdown crown. It is on a stainless steel bracelet and comes in two colours, a black version or a blue version with the price being around £40 here in the UK and can be purchased on Amazon UK. I purchased the black version first and was so impressed I purchased the blue version which blew me away when I saw the sunburst dial. I hope you will review this model watch if you come across it, it is a superb watch by Casio in my opinion at an incredible price.
Ednam Mansfield Thanks for the info. Looking at them now

Daaamn man that MTD1053 is so stunning! I stumbled upon the blue dial and I bought it right away (since it's even cheaper than the black dial where I live). Amazing value, amazing look! And how the light plays on the dial! Gosh it's worth every euro!
Like most people, I would have preferred it if Casio came out with a 40mm case. Also the minute hand is a bit too short, ideally it should reach the minute markers and if the date / date window was a bit bigger to make reading it easier.
I put a strapcode super oyster on mine. Kinda wish I'd spent a little more for an endmill or hexad, oh, well. Looks just dandy on my 6.5" wrist. I really don't understand the continual whining for itsy bitsy watches, particularly at a price that rivals free.
Been on the fence about picking one of these up, there are just so many nice watches on the "want" list...but it's definitely on the list. Thanks for the video.
LUME can be upgraded easy because of the nice applied indices. I bought some (green) on E bay and the entire project took about 15 minutes with a watch oiler. Lume is awesome now.
I wish it was 38-42MM but I must say since I use it as a beater for the ocean and pool and hiking and biking...the large size for outdoor activity is perfect.
Treated myself to one of these for my birthday in April, really suits my 7.5 inch wrist, must admit it edges the SKX007 for proportions when I check it in the mirror. I love the bezel action, the polishing and the bevel graphics. The lume is way worse than my 007 or any Seiko for that matter, the hands are acceptable, but the pips are poor. It came in a flimsy card box from Amazon (USA) for £44.
Got this 2 weeks ago. My bezel has zero backplay. Got lucky. Also if you charge the lume with 250 lumen light it stays readable for 5 hours. Awesome watch!!!
I've got an 8" wrist, so the 44mm case is fine for me when I want a watch with some size. I paid a whopping $40 CDN for it, which completely crushes the perceived value of a hell of a lot of higher priced watches. This watch is VERY well built. If they charged a bit more and put in an automatic movement, or solar charging, I'd buy it immediately. By the way, I like the strap with which it comes.
If you are a watch collector and don't have this watch, you're not doing something right. And changing the strap, everyone does that also. Lol I love mine.
I play sports 20/7 what watch under $300 should I get that is not digital or plastic. I'm looking for a watch that can also be used the 4 hrs that I'm not doing sports to look good...
nickle 7 q public. Back in the day when i first started collecting watches i found myself with around 20 quartz watches with all the batteries dying. headache. After selling most all of them i started buying automatic & a some solar. Now i have only 5 quartz and thats managable. Keeping the crown pulled out prob not good idea?

@@bebuchwebmaster2046 This can be the battery most likely but also there's a chance the watch is not calibrated correctly. I bought a gshock which was +30s a day out of the box.

I've had mine 5+ years, it's my work watch. Used and abused it, no problems. 😊👍
And the $44 Casio chapter ring is aligned perfectly. I'm looking at you, Seiko!
The same reason Ferrari's love the service garage but a Hyundai will never be seen...
Have you seen the latest Seiko's? Bezel remains slightly off!

I use it for outdoor activity. Biking, hiking, swimming etc. the size is great if you are using for outdoors activity.
I agree, a smaller version of this would sell in the millions. My sweet spot would be a 42mm... I have still purchased the 44mm, but still.
They need to make a Duro mini. Just shrink it down to 40mm diameter and 20mm lug width. Also put Neobrite lume and make the date window a bit bigger
Casio, installing a Solar module in this watch.....could be a crusher imho. Killer watch!
Aron Dunlap Great point i would have paid more for it to have a one in, still a really good watch.
That would be awesome. But honestly I'd settle for Casio just giving the Duro brighter lume on the hands and dial markers.
@@coryames1170 and a 40mm case size.
The Duro is a nice watch , looks a bit like a Rolex submariner. In fact ,if you combine or mix a Duro with a Rolex you end up with a Durex.
lawrence tendler 😂😂😂
😂😂😂👍 That was good.
Lol, every vid I have seen o this watch, and it's alot, I see you popping up telling your joke. Haha. You like that joke? Lol

Problem is, the MTD-1053D still has a big 44mm case.

Own it love it keeping it! The second hands align with the indices!

Can you please post a pic of the new Lume and/or the product you used? Thx!

robert bishop yes the lume isn't that great...relume it...easy fun project
I think if you hit the lume with i n tence light it shortens it's life. Just exposure to natural light makes it work well for me.
Got this 2 weeks ago. My bezel has zero backplay. Got lucky. Also if you charge the lume with 250 lumen light it stays readable for 5 hours. Awesome watch!!!

The strap looks like the one that came on my gshock gw9052 which on that is fine but on this one I would definitely change it to leather or nato.
BeardedGearNut I have mine on a leather Nato heh..best of both worlds
Black nato of course
Thank you for the review,is it possible to replace the Bezel?
i dont think this watch is too big is perfect i might get one is not a bad watch for the price
One review of the 1-AV says it has a sapphire crystal, Does it?

Enoch Zeng Seiko SNA411
Seiko SKX007 or SKX009. This Seiko should be in every collection.
Jack1979 thx
@Enoch -- Get two watches. For $300 you can get a sports watch and a dress watch, without compromises that an all-in-one watch would demand.
This one! The SKX007 feels more robust, but I have both and this edges the Seiko for proportions on my 7.5 inch wrist, it looks genuinely upmarket!
but why people call quartz watches trash if they take beating more then a mechanical .. automatic watch ?
lugoj7181 Good point, love mine looks great on a Leather strap or a Nato, comfortable to wear and wears more like a 40mm and i have thin wrists.
lugoj7181 that is a good question especially some of the other channels bash the shit out of quartz watches.

As far as lume goes I wear mine outside, and get up in the middle of the night and can tell its 3 or 4 ish, no prob.
where i buy the belt of marlin? please put the link
That is such a sweet watch for the money!! Great vid brother!!

When doing a review on watches put their codes on description
Huh? I gave model info
i dont have anything against automatic watches i do love them
Very nice. With day-date it would have been a perfect "all terrain beater".
I agree. This watch is great, but too big for most people.
I wish it was around 38mm.
42 to 44mm is the perfect size, I don't know what's wrong with you...
Those that think 44mm is too big are suffering from case of bitch-wrist-syndrome!
40mm is perfect.
just cause some people are so into mechanical watches they want to call quartz watches trash smh so dumb
If it was a bit smaller with orange rubber strap it would be beautiful
Why do so many people wear their warches on their wrist bone. I wear mine behind my wristbone, soo much more comfortable.
I've tried to stand up from the ground before with I in that weird spot n it hurt like hell definitely a behind the wrist bone guy
Mine has lost 4 minutes in one week.
New battery, Detective.
