There is no "best BBQ in the US." BBQ variations are very regional in the US and each region likes their variation the best. I've lived in Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas, and I like them all and they are all different. Saying some BBQ is the best in the US is like saying that some version of chicken is the best in Europe. Appreciate each for what they are and don't try to compare.
Kansas City BBQ is my favorite but they are all great.
@@KS-ip5xn I've had Memphis, Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio BBQ at local joints within those cities. I've only had KC Ribs at a chain restaurant, so that's not a fair comparison. I can't say that any one is better than another, but I can say the brisket and sausage are better in TX and Pork is better in the other states IMO. The sauces vary greatly from region to region, all being amazing!
It's all good, but Texas is still best
I agree with you , obviously it depends on taste so it’s as individual as people .
But there are championships contests like chili cook offs. And he could go to those . That would be amazing .
I have to say , I’m still not at all convinced he wouldn’t be better off moving to Canada and traveling with that as a base . He could be ideally placed there and have health insurance , I think Canada would be the easiest option
There are so many places to get good BBQ in the US. It ranges from a small shack on the side of the road with a smoker and no seating to a large restaurant with multiple large smokers. It stops being a question of who makes the best and changes to which one you prefer.
you said what I was thinking; you just said it better; the perfect comment; awesome! 😋
Very true. I live in TN and claim we have the best BBQ, but I can say that because it can't be proven or disproven. So many places have fantastic BBQ, but it depends on many things, not just flavor. Location, atmosphere, and just as important, the mood you're in.
Smoking meat is everything here . I never realized how much , but it’s the best meat . And I love grilled steak .
You made virtually same comment I did! There are certainly phenomenal places..and you can stack or receive a reward..and should be proud of it! It's likely well deserved but what I like doesn't mean it's better than what you like!
I worked in this industry for 20 yrs or so.. mentored by a world Champion..on TV shows lol .Texas is the " best" BBQ in my opinion for what that is worth for--

We would call beans on toast in my neighborhood a "struggle meal." The food you eat when you can't afford anything else 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Its famine food.
Yean, their (UK) version of "beans on toast" is just dumping a can of runny Heinz Beans out on a piece of toast and that is it. That is why they nearly lost WW2. ")
Da struggle is meal.
@@nullakjg767 if you try to make it , let us know . Easy and cheap
My fave struggle meal will always be creamed tuna on toast
You're going to want to know there are literally millions of people in the US who can cook amazing things. I went to a "cook out" in Coeur d'Alene Idaho and a local farmer had a fully grown pig that got slow cooked with all sorts of vegetables and spices wrapped in metal foil seet on burning coals and literally BURIED in the ground.
When I got there the pig took up the full length of an 8 foot table and we selected what meat and veg we wanted out of the foil wrappings. It was unbelievably good.
And that was just a local with a farmhouse, not a restaurant for miles around.
Listen Lew...we don't want no bean on toast. Ya hear? 😂😂😂 That's my country twang voice🤭. 💖🙏
😂😂😂 I was thinking the same thing. We don't want beans on toast. 😮😭
Toast is just gonna wreck the beans mate! LOL
British beans have a tomato based sauce with garlic, onion, sugar and a vinegar. American baked beans have a wider range of spices and sweeteners. Folks rarely just take them out of a can and eat them straight; they add stuff. In addition to white sugar, you will find brown sugar and/or molasses. Mustard powder is almost always added. Bacon or fat back is usually included. Cider vinegar or wine vinegar is often used in place white vinegar. There may be cayenne, jalapeños, or hot sauce might be added. Also in some areas if the country, beans other than great northern or navy beans are used. In Texas and parts of the south the beans might be pinto.
As for beans on toast, we had the Revolutionary War for a reason. The Founding Fathers may have been fighting over taxation without representation, but the common man was trying escape beans on toast. 🙂
😂😂😂
True, but don't knock it until you try it. I eat BBQ beans on Texas Toast all the time. It's so good
Can’t wait to see Lewis finally get to America and start trying our food! Honestly if he doesn’t shed at least one happy tear I will be very disappointed!
I was just thinking that. No matter how many videos he watches, he is going to be speechless. I just hope he gets a good recommendation. I believe they are exaggerating a bit on this place. It's safe to go to Texas if it's possible for him.
i was thinking the same thing, you can tell by the video it's not as good as Texas BBQ@@lout3921
When is he coming to the U.S.?
Isn't he just the sweetest thing. It's nice to see someone get excited about America and loves good food. Sweetest smile.
I wish he’d do a video or two making some of this food , trying recipes and tasting them . The easy ones of course . Anybody with an oven tin foil and an oven can make a delicious turkey .
We have beans n cornbread. Not beans n toast. 😂
What do we put in our food? SEASONING!!!
Hey man, just don't forget when you come to the US to ask for to-go boxes so you can
finish your meal later. More than likely you'll receive more than you can eat at one time
and you don't want to waste your money.
Your face when she did that thing with the wings😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂Right
Perfect illustration of gobsmacked. 😁
That is called the "meat umbrella" technique.
My first time seeing someone eat wings like that, I’ll have to show my husband. But me personally just pick it up, dip and eat.
You can give me beans and you can give me toast, but do not put beans on my toast. I want butter and jelly.
This is why a lot of Americans are overweight. We make damn good food. I personally think I can do a mean side of ribs. The bones will just pull out.
Exactly! I love Puckett's but there are better places around here. That being said, most people can cook better than any restaurant. We take cooking seriously in the south. In addition to a regular kitchen most of us have some sort of outdoor kitchens with smokers, charcoal grills, gas grills, and/or Blackstones. Our outdoor kitchen setup is a small fridge, wine fridge, kegarator, ice maker, electric smoker, pellet smoker, Green Egg grill, gas grill, and a Blackstone. We also have a stand alone turkey fryer/seafood boiler gas burner. Smoking low and slow keeps your food full of flavor, tender and juicy.
because Beans on Toast is a weird thing... also those beans are not "fresh from a can"... those have been baked a long time in an oven with probably with brown sugar, molasses, bacon, onions... not a "quick morning snack"
👍🙂❤️
Our beans are so good, we don’t need toast. I love BARBECUE BAKED BEANS. They are the same beans you have except with BARBECUE SAUCE and SHREDDED SMOKED PORK added. No toast needed. The British brought the beans, but the Americans “JACKED ‘EM UP”………..” ‘MERICAN STYLE”. Thanks for sharing your videos.
👍🙂❤️
Americans never eat beans alone. We eat them as a side or inside a dish (red beans & rice, chili, or bean & cheese burritos) which are not in a bbq base.
The Beans you eat in the UK is in a light tomato base. We don’t have those beans in our grocery stores. You would need to make them at home to get similar UK-style beans you eat on toast.
Most beans in America are in a bbq sauce base.
They have completely different flavor profiles.
@@suziet6176 I eat flavorful beans all the time. They are delicious on their own.
Very True, no shame loving BBQ, but most Americans have BBQ 'excellence' as a basic standard, tbh!;
We're surprised the UK & EU countries aren't cognizant of that fact. . thats honestly, Amazing to us! ..were pleased if you enjoy it, Of course just always 'amazed', even 'cheapy' Americans food flavors are literally **basics!** 😊👍 !, TBH.😌
Yea she's from the sout and DOESNT KNOW HOW TO EAT WINGS.... US AMERICANS ARENT THAT DUMB SHE IS
The British did not bring the beans, my tribe had been growing them for at least a millennia before their arrival.
This couple can be very critical of food, so if they like it this much, it must be good!
Or, it was a comped meal from the restaurant to get their place known outside of Tennessee. The reaction to the food was way over the top, dial it back some. I have watched quite a few of their videos (was subscribed), but the guy was just overall an arrogant euro dbag. I truly hope the food is that good, because I would definitely stop and try it.
@@KAP814 no this restaurant is prob one of the best places to eat in TN. Its pretty well known and plus Franklin is one of the most expensive places to live in TN.
This particular Puckett's is in Franklin, Tennessee. The original location is in a small town west of Nashville called Liepers Fork (pronounced Leepers) . It started as a local gas/petrol station. They added a small convenience store and started serving boxed lunches to travelers. The boxed lunches soon grew into a full blown sit down restaurant, and the rest is history. Their food is fantastic!!
It's gas, not petrol.
Gas is short for gasoline which is what the actual fuel name is.
@@jonok42and in Europe, they say petrol. So, when people are commenting to someone in Europe, it’s nice to specify.
Baked beans are made with molasses NOT tomato sauce; that's the difference!. Beans served in tomato sauce are called/ known as Pork and Beans.
I don't put molasses in baked beans. I use brown sugar and oh yes ketchup, a little bit of green peppers with onion. Love it. Not a chef but I can do this.
@@nancyengland6359I put molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, a dash of dry mustard, bacon and sautéed onion in mine.

Me too. 😂
Agreed!
Our beans are that good. Why dilute the flavor with bread? We want all the flavor!
We put spices in our food. Something the British apparently don't do 😂
We also don't destroy the meat.
I mean, I hate ribs, but I have never had one so tough that the meat didn't easily pull off the bone.
You have to be destroying them to make ribs tough. Chicken , and pot roast too.
They all make comments about how tough and dry meat is there. No wonder they love our food. It has flavor, and isn't the texture of beef jerkey, unless it is beef jerkey.
The mash potatoes is generally butter, milk, potatoes, garlic, chives, sea salt. As one who has been to uk (lived in Dunoon Scotland). Your guys mashed & ours are soooo different
everything they have is like a worse version of what america has. they take pride in inventing a lot of dishes but apparently none in improving them.
Wonder if they used brisket drippings for there brown gravy
No, we don’t eat Heinz beans on toast over here. Fried pickles are both remarkably and surprisingly good. I love Italian food but give me BBQ any day.
fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, fried squash, fried okra, fried zucchini it's all good
@@harryballsak1123 Fried twinkies, fried ice cream, fried oreos....gotta have dessert man. :)
We gave you guys the baked beans (early versions may have come from indigenous tribes, then altered by immigrant populations), but unfortunately the more improved versions are only just now getting to you. This is why Boston, Massachusetts is called “Beantown,” for their Boston Baked beans which are molasses based. Molasses is way better than tomato based baked beans. I think beans on toast might be considered a poor person’s food, like Spam or “porridge.” We have way better things to have with toast than beans, and we consider beans to be a lunch and dinner food, not breakfast. You really need to come over here, man! You will eat more food than you’ve ever had in your life! Half of your travel budget will probably just be for the food!
They don’t eat it as a breakfast food . Funnily enough , when they have beans with their breakfast they have it as a side , and they also have toast with it . And eggs , and a meat , and a “ pudding “ which is like nothing we have that I can think of .
Beans on eggs on toast is a meal and it’s stacked on top of each other so it seeps into each other , like our biscuits and gravy , . It’s really a cultural thing like. PBJ here .
You should try it for lunch one day , but I’d get either campbells or vandekamps beans , bacon on it or sausage or any kind of meat you’d like . Hot dog obviously . But put an egg with runny yolk on top .
In Illinois , we have horseshoes , we make French fries. , on top of toast with hamburger or any meat topped with cheese sauce , they’re delicious .
We also have a haystack or breakfast horseshoe in which we have toast or waffle , then hash brown potatoes then meat then gravy with egg with runny yolk on top .
It’s delicious
Oh, just reminded me of the great molasses flood... 😆
The hack she did with the wing is a thing. She made an umbrella with it to debone it. I personally haven't tried it, but it looks promising...I think the state is Tennessee, I see a poster for Franklin Tennessee on the wall.

The reason we don’t do beans on toast is because it’s not a quick snack for us. It takes a long time to slow-cook baked beans just for us to slap it on a piece of toast at the end. Totally different experience than Heinz beans, which I’ve had before. Nothing wrong with it, it’s just different.
There's plenty of canned beans including BBQ beans and pork. We just don't eat beans on toast because, why?
@@liamengram6326because there is nothing appetizing about it, so why ruin a nice piece of toast by putting canned beans on it?
@@jonok42 Read what I said again bud. I said "We just don't eat beans on toast because, why?" As in why the fuck would you eat beans on toast.
Punctuation is important.
Terry Black's is nationally known, and he competes in national BBQ competitions. Puckett's is regionally popular around Tennessee.
I wouldn’t say that Terry is National known, I have never heard of him ,until he was mentioned on another UA-cam channel.
Aman I am sure Pucketts is outstanding. I am sure they might have the best porkchicken and patatoe salad but they can't compete with Terry Blacks on brisket and beans
See my long comment above. I don't know that Terry Black's is nationally all that famous, yet. Franklin's is I think because of Anthony Bourdain, right? As an Uber driver in Austin I get asked all the time about Franklin's but not Black's. When we drive by or I mention it then they say they just had it (it was great) or that it was recommended locally.
@@georgemetz7277 For a long time Fanklin's was number 1 I am not sure if it still is. The fact is Texas has a lot of really good BBQ Mueller's BBQ would give most nationaly ranked BBQ a runn for the money. I am not sure which is best, I don't really care what the critics thank

Because we, Americans, season the gravy.
Some of us make our Mash Potatoes with Sour cream and butter added in during the mashing. This makes them extra creamy and smooth.
Yes! Always w/the sour cream #sidedishsecrets
A splash of milk and some shredded cheese never hurt as well!
I whip my mashed potatos with cream cheese, butter and milk. It's HEAVEN!!!
cook the potatoes with a little garlic and onion and whip them right in with the potatoes...of course butter, milk, sour cream (sometimes a dollop of cream cheese)...throw in some cheese while it's still nice and hot...then go crazy and make 'em loaded with chives and bacon pieces.
@@user-or1ye3iz6d Yes! cream cheese is unbelievably good in mashed potatoes!
Things to remember about BBQ: 1. BBQ meats, cooking methods and sauces vary by region and even state to state. 2. Smoking the meat is key in Texas and other areas where BBQ is smoked with low, indirect heat for on average 10 to 12 hours. Another important factor in smoking meat is using different types of wood such as mesquite, apple, oak, maple etc.. will change the flavor of the finished product. 3. Rubs, marinades and sauces are important and will definitely vary from region to region and even restaurant to restaurant. Southwestern States often do not use sauces and rely on on the “dry rub” or “moist rubs” of spices and herbs that are applied to the surfaces of the meats and then are allowed to “rest” for varying periods of time. If there is a sauce, the ingredients will vary and are usually tomato or mustard based (tomato sauces are usually used in the southwestern regions and mustard- with a dash of vinegar are often found in the southeastern states. 4. NONE of these methods are set in stone. There are secret smoking methods, rubs and sauces that are sometimes developed over years and are family secrets as treasured as jewelry and homes. I personally have been experimenting and perfecting my BBQ for more than 40 years.
The best places to eat especially in a country as big as the United States are 100% personal taste and opinions. I would recommend that if you are going to be visiting more than one region, you try the same foods to explore and experience the variety of food preparation. Please remember that the best places to eat may be hidden away and may not be the most expensive or dressiest places. Chain restaurants will taste pretty much the same no matter where you are so eat that stuff if you are pressed for time or simply want something that tastes familiar.
Good luck on your “grazing across America adventures”!
Has anyone told you that there are multiple ways in the United States that we make our mac n' cheese, multiple potato salad recipes, mashpotato & gravy recipes, BBQ, ect. If you understand my meaning, there are multiple recipes for EVERY type of food out there in America. So, if you don't like it one way, you can go somewhere else and order the same thing and have a different recipe; therefore, different food. I think that is why many people have stated, "Don't knock it till you try it." It is a familiar saying across the US because all of the recipes are so different from area to area.
I hated pickles most of my life till I was at a restaurant and had a fried pickle. Now I love them
Fried pickles are AMAZING!!!
The reason we don’t have beans on toast is because our beans have a very different flavor and would probably be fine on toast but they are so much better on their own. Until you have them, you won’t understand just like we don’t understand why you guys do put beans on toast
Remember, gravy is made with meat drippings. When you start with meat that tastes this good then the gravy has to be just as amazing. Potatoes are potatoes, they are just a conveyance medium for the gravy. jdn forgot to mention that the regional variances can be grouped into a few categories like Carolina (predominately made with mustard and vinegar) or St. Louis (brown sugar based) or even cajun (pepper based) or Tex-Mex (tomato and cumin predominate). But every smoke house has a pitmaster that was tutored by someone and they all do it differently so yeah, find a flavor profile you like best and roll with that.
Alessio is a very tough critic. If you do a deep dive of their videos you will understand the joy of Alessio liking anything that is not Italian. Love Jessi and Alessio Pasini, great channel and all original videos.
The Pasini’s live in Tennessee, where she is from. They did a series of videos when they came to New York comparing Italian food to what he’s grown up with. They went apartment hunting because they really liked NY but ultimately found it too expensive.
The internet would leave you to believe you can only get good bbq in Texas. You can get excellent bbq all over the US. I do excellent bbq in my backyard, and I live in Ohio!!!
I told him on another video Texas is not #1 in all BBQ maybe Brisket and actually I've had better Brisket at Martin's bbq and Jacks bbq in Nashville.
You are so correct!!
You might make decent bbq but don’t compare it with Terry Blacks. Not even close…. Go win some of the biggest bbq competitions in the US, then you can talk.
Texas BBQ is superior than any other region. Ohio? Please
ive been to Pucketts before, they have a couple locations throughout Tennessee around Nashville. they are pretty solid good BBQ, i dont know if its top 10 BBQ but its pretty dang good.
So generally we're not eating baked beans just straight out the can, we will add things to it, I like to add onion, bacon, mustard, b-b-que sauce, molasses and a little bourbon.
Potato salad, they're dozens of different recipe for potato salad. Potatoes (I like red potatoes or Yukon gold, but you can use russet), onions, celery (optional) sweet pickle relish, grated boil eggs, mustard, a mild vinegar (like rice wine), mayo, salt, pepper, paprika
I add most of those things, I also add green bell peppers, onions and ground beef sometimes.
@@Ayurveduh I'm intolerant of pepper so I try to avoid them when possible, they give me really bad heartburn.
I use dill pickle juice for the vinegar. Works great.
@@Nighthawk5472 never tried that, have to try that next time
Back in the day, I learned a little trick from an Alton Brown cooking show. Use Yukon Golds or red potatoes. After you boil your potatoes, put them in a plastic bag with about 1/4 c of cider vinegar to cool in the fridge overnight. This adds some flavor to the flesh of the potato. It bring the dish up a notch.
I also like to use a whole grain mustard. Personally, I favor a more sour pickle. A touch of powdered chipotle chile adds bit of a kick and some smokiness.
This is one of your best reactions. I really hope you're able to make it to Puckett's and record it for us.

Each of us have our favorite "rub" for our meats. Which is all the different seasonings and flavors in a dry form. We use a few different ones or you can mix your own. Thats whats on the chicken, a really good rub.

I cannot wait to see you in America trying food.
We don’t do beans on toast because our beans ARE that good. We have over 15 flavors of baked beans and Bush brand beans are the best, especially the sweet ones
There’s a divide in BBQ - in America, like Italy v Greece with pizza - there are four prominent BBQ regions/states all claiming to be the best: Kansas, Carolinas, Tennessee , and Texas. All have distinct qualities and characteristics. You’ll need to try them all as everyone has a preference and favorite style
its Kansas City, Missouri not Kansas known for its BBQ
There really isn't a best at anything! BBQ in America has styles or preferences! Some of it comes from the ppl in the area, certain states have ppl that migrated from different countries so their culture has influence!
I was mentored by a World Champion in BBQ, but I opened and ran places in St Louis! The thing about Texas why its called "the best" in my opinion is the amount of top notch places they have! Texas is huge! Several huge cities, and the small cities are big...so many great places!
Love STL bbq
I live in the Pacific Northwest (Not Cali), and we had a Southern food truck roll by my rural area, and when I tell you it was a life changing experience I mean it. The truck was owned by two brothers from Texas, and I don't know what they use to season their food but they have it down to a science. I really wish I remembered what the truck was called, but it was fantastic food, and the prices were very reasonable. I got Coleslaw, Brisket, and Pork belly, along with fried pickles, fried cheese curds, and pulled pork sandwiches. And for reference I ordered for 3 people, I could never eat that much by myself.
You don't need to make some special trip to get great BBQ in the USA. While it tends to be best known in the South, there are great places pretty much anywhere you go in the USA. Even where I live in New York City there are great places like Dinosaur Barbecue.
The place they're at is in Franklin Tennessee, which is near Nashville.
Finding the best BBQ in America would be an exercise of futility as there are literally thousands of places to choose from across this great nation. Good BBQ stretches out much further than just the Southern states.
Exactly
But it would make an amazing road trip.
There are so many BBQ styles, my highlights: Alabama, Texas, Memphis, Hawaii, St Louis. There are many variations, but of the ones I have tried, those are my favorite. Hawaiian pulled pork is amazing, but so is Alabama's. I have always had dry Tennessee BBQ, but that doesn't mean it's not as good, I just haven't found the good places. St Louis style ribs are pretty much the standard, imo. And the grilling in the SW is top notch. And there's a lot of amazing grilled and smoked seafood on both coasts. People have been grilling salmon on cedar planks, roasting crab, doing clambakes, and seafood boils for thousands upon thousands of years. Basic stuff, but great. And spitted game is done well across the West. Antelope with apricots and sage is pretty next level.
Our gravy is made from the dripping of the meat, and add spices to your taste
"Why don't you guys eat beans on toast?"
Because we're more dignified then that. lol

Idk if you read comments but check out master barbecue shows they have here with people showing you how they cook their meats for competition and at the end of the show the judges try the barbecue to see who's the best. You'll love it if you watch this
It would be great to see his reactions to those.
BBQ is the quintessential American food experience. There are many different versions across the U.S. and ALL of them are magnificent.
when I was a kid my mom did give us beans on toast. I liked it. It was the regular pork and beans. It is not the same as bbq baked beans. We make those with mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar mixed in with the beans and some bacon put on top and then baked in the oven mmmmmm, yummy.
Puckett's is in Franklin Tennessee!!! Yes Southern BBQ IS AMAZING!!! I live in Middle Tennessee, and I know we have great southern cooking all over the state!!!!

Yeah, that's a real technique for the wings btw! It's the umbrella technique - like opening one.
11:46 Our beans take longer than a few minutes. That’s why they taste so good.
I live in TN, and I would put our BBQ up against any place around. It's life changing! 😮
As for mashed potatoes and Gravy, it is butter, a dollup of sour cream, a little white cheddar, white pepper and garlic in the potatoes and key is to leave the skins on while boiling the potato. Then you season the gravy with black pepper, garlic, salt, a couple of dried herbs like basil or thyme.
Try it. It seriously elevates mashed potatoes and gravy.
Southern baked beans are different. We do beans on toast in the northeast - lots of British and Canadian ancestry, and it’s a holdover - but the beans are usually canned and not nearly as good. Edit: just checked the canned beans I have in my pantry and they’re with maple and molasses.

there is a good barbecue place in every city . my city we have Mabels
Yes, Texas has great barbecue, however - so do so many other states! I believe they may be in Tennessee. There are so many states with amazing barbecue other than Texas, but for some reason, most reactors only react to Texas.
Because they've all been told Texas despite being able to get good BBQ in most states.
@barcster2003 What do you mean by 'goof BBQ'? Every Southern state has amazing barbecue- all different styles, and they are all amazing. Not just Texas.
@@mcm0324 miss spelled good.
as soon as the text said that she was a southerner, i knew she would umbrella the wing. it's the best way to do it
You can draw a line right across the USA east to west halfway up. Bottom half of the country has the best food in the world, hands down. I've visited 6/7 continents, 55 countries. Nothing beats the food in the southern half of the USA.
Everything is about seasoning and proper cooking time
Because our beans don't need the toast bro lol. You just eat them alone you don't need extra
There is a Puckett's at the Nashville Airport! They are eating 30 minutes south of the airport in Franklin, TN at that location.
Mashed potatoes are made with a ton of butter and milk (and garlic) in most places in the South. They are incredible for something so simple.
In addition to what spices and sauces, what type of wood burned to smoke the meat also shapes the flavor.
You truly need to watch BBQ pit masters compete that win championships those are the spots you should hit. Each state has their own BBQ joints and most of the off the beaten track ones are the best lol but just depends on you and you'll figure out which style you like the best
Hello from Texas. When you have corn bread/corn cakes you have to put butter on it while it's still hot.
Lol you've seen the wing umbrella before with jolly you must not have been paying attention haha
I've eaten at their Cullman Alabama location and its pretty good. I would give it an 8/10. Gas station 5 miles down the road from me has better brisket and ribs
Some people in parts of the south call them corn cakes, but in other parts it's fried cornbread (hot water corn bread)
Or hoe cakes. I forgot about Johnny cakes as well. Lots of names for the tasty treat.
The reason baked beans from the South are so good is because they're seasoned with lots of sugar and bacon (or ham). They're delicious!
As a lifelong southern cook. We put love into every dish. God bless!
American baked beans is nothing like the UK's baked beans
TBH I found a can of British Heinz beans and it wasn’t good. Even my son who will eat cans of beans even he didn’t care for it. This place is in Franklin Tennessee just south of Nashville
It's common sense to understand why Texas has the best barbecue they have the most cattle in the United States which means they've always had surplus of fresher, cheaper meat and consider what they can do with those savings meaning better cooks, spices,(understand spices was the first form of portable currency) equipment and most of all competition.
Outstanding bbq exists in every state. The way the meat is seasoned and prepared could be different along with types of sauce.
We have never served beans on toast that is a british thing.
23:20. It’s not so much that it’s the single best restaurant, even though it’s that good; it’s because they’ve stumbled on another genre of food new to them. She knows about southern bbq, but all these shows feature famous places in Texas or the Carolinas.
But the truth is, the BEST BBQ in America IS NOT the famous restaurants. It’s often in the lesser-known smaller towns across the whole south, Including this place in Tennessee. Try BBQ in some of the other states in restaurants that are small family run places. -THAT’S where the bbq gets good.
I cannot wait to see your reaction videos when you come to America. They are gonna be 10 out of 10
The best BBQ is in the two Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. Everyone else learned from those states. And we love a buffet .
Leave it to Lew to get heated up because of a 10/10 on an appetizer. Love the passion. And then Lewis gets fired up over the fried pickles. Awesome.
Hahaha. This couple always rates things 10 out of "THE" 10. And Lewis gets fired up each time. Love it.
Potato salad is great. That gravy likely has smoked pork and beef drippings in it.
The half chicken is probably brined in sweet tea before bbq'ing.
I have never been to Pucket’s, but if is better than the BBQ I had in Texas, I need to go. Also different States are better at different animals when it comes to BBQ. For instance Memphis does pig better than Texas, but when it comes to beef, I would be surprised if anywhere did it better than Texas.
I have been to the Puckett's location Columbia, TN, it is good, but I have eaten at multiple places in Texas that are just as good on individual items, but maybe not as good across the board on the sides.
I was born and raised in Tennessee and because of the food I never left. Cooks and their recipes are sent here from Heaven.
Pucketts is in Franklin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville (Music City, U.S.A.)
I forgot to say. When you get mash and gravy, you need cornbread as well. You put a little mash on the end of the cornbread and eat it together
I was yelling at the screen at first ''where's the cornbread?!'' Then I saw the cakes, nice.
When it comes to BBQ in America, its separated by regions, Texas BBQ, southern BBQ, St louis style etc. America is very large, lots of BBQ places out there, to be voted into the 10 best is huge.
If you come to America go to Austin, Texas. It has been hotly contested that Terry Black’s BBQ is the best while others say Franklin BBQ is better. They are close to one another so you won’t have to travel crazy distances (remember Texas is the size of all of Europe!) You will settle the dispute and enjoy the best BBQ of your life. And there are a ton of cool things to do in Austin.
I live just outside Nashville. Have yet to try Pucketts. I will now and report back.
When you come to the States we will show you around Nashville for sure. 🤗
Good Home baked baked with plenty of molasses, onion, tomato paste baked overnight are heaven Heinz beans would NEVER be allowed on my table
Never been to Pucketts but we have 1000s of 10x10 BBQ places Come and enjoy.... love your vids, thanks
Worked for a BBQ shop that won many awards for years........the best meats use no sauces......its all in the dry rub seasoning before cooking, and the types of wood used to cook over. Brisket, pork shoulders, took up to 18 hours to cook. Ribs around 8-10, and chicken around 6-8 hours. I prefer hickory and oak wood 50/50 mixture. The beans are usually so good because they use drippings and chunks of the beef and pork in them.
He's very honest in his opinions.. he absolutely is in love with southern food now.. think he said its even better then Italian😂
