Dude, you're killing yourself watching these videos!!! Just buy a plane ticket, and bring your ass on over. Just get your reaction on video!!! 😂😂😂
That is if a bloody ticket ain't worth an arm and a leg!
He can buy one ticket coming to the USA and he will need 2 seats going back home!
His reaction to the pulled pork nachos made me feel sorry for him. 🫣
16:04 the pain in your face not being able to try it😢
@S_Cooper0404 in America we see a friend watch us eat....of course we going to offer them a bite. 🥲
Blue Oak! That's within walking distance of my house, and is an AMAZING place to get BBQ in New Orleans.
People usually order one thing. Sweet BBQ is wonderful
If your meat is tough your cooking it wrong
If you keep watching these food videos, your stomach will get a passport and leave you behind!!!!!! lmao
Here for a classic spud it's butter, sour cream, green onions, bacon bits and shredded cheese.
Then we have different types of spuds.
We even have nacho baked potatos.
Classic: Good butter, Sour cream, high quality cheddar, chives, optional bacon
Mexican: Good butter, Pico de gallo, corn, black beans, guacamole, cheese, sour cream, cilantro or Monterey Jack Cheese
Lox: Smoked salmon, chives, cream cheese
Chili: Chili, cheddar cheese, green onion, sour cream
Broccoli Cheddar: Sauteed broccoli, sour cream, cheddar cheese or Queso (Monterey Jack Cheese)
Nacho: Taco Meat , canned refried beans, cheddar cheese, Nacho Cheese salsa, sliced green onions, chopped lettuce, pickled jalapenos, crushed tortilla chips maybe some shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
Ranch: Sauteed Vegetables, Homemade Ranch Dressing , chickpeas, shredded chicken, chopped chives
Fajita: Fajita veggies, refried beans or pinto beans, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack Cheese
The bake potato had chop beef brisket with all the other fixings.
That order is what we call a Sampler. A little bit of everything. Usually a Sampler is on the menu.
@L3WG, Buy the ticket. I think you have enough people who genuinely love & appreciate you from every state that we would love to host you in our homes and we could all drive you to awesome places in our states for a few days. Drive you to the next state border & hand you off to the next state family to do the same. You would meet so many people, get immersed in different cultures and wouldn’t have to worry about hotel/transportation costs!
On the first reaction you can get that, but it usually feeds about three or four people
Heinz "baked" beans on a baked potato? Well, bless your heart. You poor dears.
And coleslaw??? On the baked potato? How can you spend hundreds of years exploring the world collecting spices from everywhere and then to end up with beans and coleslaw on your baked potato?? 😢 🤷😂
I'm from TN but I can tell you the is no such thing as bad food in Louisiana. Your Southern food tour should be Nashville, New Orleans and Houston.
That potato has butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese and green onions
I didn't know they don't have BBQ in the UK. Someone should go around the world open American restaurants.
All that they’re saying is true
If British people have the same types of food as Americans, they will have the same type of health ailments as well.
Americans have so many regional BBQ styles... they're all great.
You are looking at meat science being perfected in this country.
That's the thing, they're all fantastic at different specialities. Carolinas you got pork butt and whole hog, ribs are pretty common, Texas is beef ribs and brisket, Alabama is chicken and white sauce. They're all good in their own right and comparing them to each other is unneccessary when they're all delicious in their own right.
Mmmmmmm.......meat science
As a Louisianan, we don’t kick folks out who are still hungry. Our mamas raised us better than that.
As a Georgian, I see y'all like to show off! I didn't know y'all was doing bbq like that! You already got me hooked on Jambalaya. 😂
@@charlottedrolet9000 to be honest as a Louisianan I like Texas BBQ better than ours. We do good BBQ as you see. I truly think Texas has us beat though.
@@TnT_shadow9 I've not had Louisiana BBQ, but if it generally looks like in the video, big props from a Texan.
As a fellow Louisianan, damn right!!!
Facts. Y'all wanna stop by, be prepared to leave stuffed. ^_^
The look of genuine pain on your face when they dug into the nachos was heartbreaking. I really hope you get to eat your way through the United States one day.
Awe, poor guy!
My husband just turned to me and said “so basically if we move to the UK we can make bank by making bbq”. Im a chef, and he is insanely good on the smoker. And now he is looking up how much the cost would be for the move 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
I saw one vid about their food laws/restrictions. Like our chicken and pork is banned there, cause we don't kill it with chemicals. It was a documentary about their food inspection organization or something. It's crazy...
Hey Anna, @ 1:41 and 3:35 if ya look closely, you'll spot Olly's American doppelganger sitting at the back table. You can see it better on the JOLLY vid. 😎👍
And whatever legal documents you would need to open a business in the UK. I know of one American BBQ place in London. I'm sure they'd welcome more.
That nacho face alone is worth hitting the subscribe button! Well, It's Tuesday evening, so that means some of us have already started cooking & baking for Thanksgiving--hope everyone has a great one!
Lewis, there is an American BBQ restaurant in Bristol, UK called "Spitfire BBQ", owned and run by an American Chef. I think "Jolly" has been there, also "Mr. H. and Friends" have definitely been there and they loved it. I don't know how far away that is from where you live but it would be worth a 'day trip'. There are others too, just google "American BBQ in the UK" and you'll find some others.
Yes, he needs to go there
The thought of Heinz Beans from a can just makes me feel sorry for everyone who eats them 😢
I've tried them in a Full English breakfast and they're actually pretty good with everything else. Not quite pork & beans but not American baked beans either.
Louisiana is famous for their food. Americans travel from other states there as tourist and make food tasting a priority. It’s a foodie and live music destination.
Yo, Love dancing Zydeco!!!
Here's my summation of why American food is so much more dynamic & flavorful than the UK: In the UK, you guys eat to live. Over on this side of the pond, we LIVE to EAT!
Amen and Hallelujah 🤭. Tru dat.... I'd rather die with a mouthful of brisket than a carrot 🥕 stick any freaking day 🎉🎉🎉. 😆😂
Lol, So true!
@@orlandorojas439 We Rojas gotta stick together 😁🤣👍
Just keep in mind BBQ in the US is very regional. Even within city limits, there are varying styles. Texas is famous for beef ribs, North Carolina knows pork ribs, etc. You also have St. Louis, Kansas City, and hundreds of cities offering so many places. However, the best places also make sure the side dishes are just as great as the meat.
Memphis bbq is lowkey pretty underrated
Yeah also any bbq place at any location can feature bbq styles from any region.
Texas is known for brisket
Was in Louisiana a few months ago and New Orleans had some of the best food I have ever tasted. Especially was blown away by the gator. So scrumptious! I live in the Pacific Northwest, not a gator in sight. Makes me sad.
The ribs aren’t “sweet like Candy.” It’s the BBQ sauce or BBQ rub they put on the ribs and it’s delicious!!
If you render the fat near perfect it actually does turn it into candy without the BBQ sauce
I'm starting to feel bad for the people of England. Why don't you guys have good food ? 😢
As a native Louisianian, yes, if you get it from the right place, the cracklin is 100% that good! The best come from the hole in the wall gas stations..
Josh and Ollie got “meat drunk” at the end when they were discussing “anti-crime/pro-bbq”.
🤣people don't realize, that "getting meat drunk" is a "thing." Here in North Carolina we just call it "meat sweats" 😵💫🙃 you fall into a comatose state🤣
Look cousin, we do great food all over, for all pallets. Book some train tickets, get out and roam between different cities across America, and see the underbelly of this country. 🗿👽🗿
Did I see tears in your eyes when they finally got to those pulled pork nachos? 😂 Understandable. All that food looked delicious. Get yourself over here dude. You could literally do a full bbq/food tour of the southeast over a week.
Right? I thought he was misting up there!
Yes 😅 I believe there was a tear in his eye.
The rooster sauce appears to be some kind of spicy BBQ sauce. It's a "house" sauce which means specially made by the restaurant.
rooster sauce can also mean sriracha
@@commandingsteelit can also refer to red rooster hot sauce too!
It’s probably a Thai chili bbq sauce mixture
Sriracha is a rooster sauce bc it’s hit a rooster on the bottle
To watch your face when they ate the nachos was priceless!!
New Orleans has "banging" food! All of it is good. Get to America already! LOL love your video's!
As someone who was born and raised in Louisiana and still lives here…. Yes. It is that good!
I make my son pulled pork nachos every couple of weeks. He LOVES nachos and it's quick and easy when I have the left over pork. I put it in the air fryer to crisp it up a bit.
Heinz bean's on a potato !!! That is truly disgusting. I just went and washed my mouth out with whiskey. 😅😅
I live in the Northeast part of the U. S. and good bbq is really expensive. But I just checked the Blue Oak BBQ website, and it is very affordable: For a family platter: all meats & all sides, comes with sliced fatty & lean brisket, pulled pork, turkey, ribs, spicy green onion sausage, chicken leg & thigh, wings, & a half pint of each side and 1/2 LB of cracklins. All for $85! I plan on visiting a friend in New Orleans in 2024 and I know where I will be going to eat!
Southern BBQ in some states have a sweet but spicy sauce. Sooooooo good
Whatever happens, L3WG, if you go have some legitimate bbq, we HAVE to see how that goes. - Cheers from Texas
Since you mentioned it, I looked up Blue Oak BBQ's menu online, and YES "All Meats & All Sides" is on offer on their menu for $75, plus it looks like JOLLY paid an extra $10 for the crackling
Lewis! When you said English loaded potatoes were Heinz beans, coleslaw and cheese, my stomach clenched! 🤢 I stopped the video and went and asked my (British) husband if that was true! I asked him, "You put those things together on a potato?!" He said it's true. I CANNOT imagine those flavors together! But then, I can't understand ketchup on fish and chicken, either. 🤔❤❤
The BEST bbq meat falls off the bone when you just look at it and melts in your mouth, no matter which establishment in any state!
Your nacho face needs to be a meme😂😂
Louisiana was a wonderful spot to visit. It's a temperate climate, the folks are chill, the BBQ, great. The desserts? Great. The seafood? Great. The mixed drinks? Wow!
when did you go to Louisiana? Temperate?? Go in July, you'll melt. February, March? That might be a temperate time, but you're absolutely screwed for entire sections of the year. The heat, the humidity, the bugs! The hurricanes, constant summer storms? The southern US is never temperate!
@@Laura-mi3nv temperate sub tropical... i thinks its similar as southern missouri... just we have a fall and winter here... but as far as summer its pretty much the same... personally i thought missouri was hotter n crappier then a tropical country like philippines or singapore
@@joshualee8151 - temperate means mild. There is nothing mild about the weather in Louisiana.... and temperate sub tropical is an oxymoron.
@@Laura-mi3nv well complain about the koppen climate system not me lol i was just explaining a point of view here goodness... 🤣🤣
besides ive experienced florida weather aswell the dog days of summer in the midwest are more ruthless then that...
@@mm37too - its November! lol, you're having a nice day in November. I lived in Alexandria for 5 years. I remember how bad it gets. San Diego is temperate, its nice all year round. Louisiana (and most of the south) cannot be considered temperate, its a roller coaster. I remember getting snow and ice in Alexandria and then in the spring.. 400 billion dragonflies everywhere so thick you couldn't leave the house. Its really more plague like than temperate with some nice days happening some times.
BBQ sauces and rubs come in a variety of flavors. When they said the ribs were sweet, the barbecue sauce probably had brown sugar or honey.
Maybe molasses.
Louisiana is the best State in the U.S. if you love food. If it walks, flies, swims or crawls, those people can make it into a four star meal.
I picked up two pumpkin pies and an apple pie from Costco for our Thanksgiving dinner. Yummy.
You typically pay for BBQ by the 1/2 or full pound. So you can customize what you want.
You basically just grab a tray and tell the people serving what all you want on it. It can be a bit of everything or you can pick your favorites and they charge by weight
I honestly think you could probably fly to and from America for little to no cost. With all of your "friends" here and on twitch that are dieing to see you come, I'm sure many would have air miles they'd be more than happy to put towards the trip. I'm also sure if you wanted to keep it economical, you would have your pick of many really great people in various regions that would be thrilled to host you and either show you around or just give pointers if you wanted to explore on your own. Depending how long you have, you could pick different regions to spend 5 to 7 days in. Something to think about.
Cracklings are AMAZING. Crunchy and meaty and delicious.
Thank you again Lewis, you always make me smile, the look on your face when you are looking at the food is awesome😊❤
I can't get enough of the Brits eating food here in America. Have you ever been to the states? Please keep sharing. This Texas grandma really likes you!!!!
Lewis.. if you ever come to Austin TX I will take you to all the best BBQ places in the state
I hope someone opens a Louisiana BBQ around there for you. I think you are right that it would be very popular. I felt so bad for you when they got to the natchos! Im looking forward to watching your videos when you eat your way through the American South.
Pork ribs are great when they are sweet, very often like the place I worked at we covered the ribs in brown sugar..heavy first..let them sugar melt and caramelize than add the other seasoning! The stickiness of the sugar helps keep the other seasoning on the rib!
Than throughout cooking process you can baste the rib in a sugar, butter, we used apple juice baste to keep moist!
Yes, it’s ACTUALLY that good!! 🤤💀
And also, the waiter specified that those are St. Louis style pork ribs. Here in St. Louis (I happen to live here) the way we do ribs is a long, slow smoking, then we add the sauce and slow smoke some more. It sort of caramelizes the sauce making it a sticky, smoky melt in your mouth combination. It’s more of a smoky sweet sauce as opposed to a vinegar based sauce or sauce with spicy heat that you might find elsewhere in the country. I believe in Tennessee they don’t sauce the ribs at all, just smoke them then you can add your own sauce afterward. You seem put off by their description of the ribs as sweet, but trust me when I say you’d dig it.
No lie. I was waiting for a tear to drop 😢
BBQ is very much a regional thing in the US. And even within each region, there are incredible variances. All can be different, but absolutely delicious.
As to whether, “Is it that good?” Yes, it truly can be. Even for folks living here in the US, going to a BBQ place can be an almost pilgrimage kind of experience.
Louisiana is our Constantinople of food.
They've magically woven everyone's spices & foods into an amazing amalgamation.
The entire state is just... special. French, Native American, Spanish, Caribbean, and even their Vietnamese fusion foods are delicious.
I'm a local of NOLA and live close to Blue Oak BBQ and not many people order the whole menu. We go straight for the Ribs or Brisket everytime. Believe me when I say it's so dammmmmmm gooooood!
Yes, it's actually that good. Not gonna lie, why would I lie? It's that good.
@@mm37too I believe them!
Loved your face when they pulled out the nachos, there's so many different flavors here and no two things will taste the same, I would absolutely love to see you come to the US, and don't be shy about trying the local foods when your here, keep up the good work
Brussels sprouts are not a Barbecue Tailgate thing. It may be a item on a restaurant menu thing, but not a tailgate thing. Please tell them not to bring any brussel sprouts to a tail gate...lol!!😂😂😂
If you ever make it to Houston come try Killen's BBQ. Best brussel sprouts i've ever had!
yeah this is wrong.
Ditto, brussel sprouts 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮. Definitely not, nope, negative and NOOOOO. 😂
I just had some BBQ the other day for dinner and it was so good! They gave us so much food we had a bunch of leftovers. I could eat BBQ everyday with no regrets 😅 also, last year for thanksgiving my family roasted a turkey and let me say… chefs kiss! It was delicious!!!!! Also lastly I wanted to say that here in NC there are a lot of bbq places that make bbq egg rolls as an appetizer.
This is something that you can actually order. In the US, there is something called the "BBQ plate" which is a sampling of different meats, with sides. Some of the plates are for a family, where you order everything and share across the table.
I have been waiting for your reaction to this video the second i saw the nachos 😂
L3WG the answer is YES most BBQ restaurants have nachos on the menu. Imagine having the juiciest BBQ and not using it on Nachos? 😂
Please, do come to the US! Texas and Louisiana for sure. A couple of warnings: Be very selective on where you go - there are lots of mediocre and some just bad BBQ joints here. Just because it says BBQ and it's in Texas doesn't mean it's good (I'm looking at you Dickey's!) - #2 - Be safe! Especially if you go to New Orleans. Get with a local who can tell you where NOT to go (very important!)
Unfortunately Dickey's is the only place close to me to get BBQ.
There is great BBQ in South Carolina also, many places have good BBQ, different regions, different taste and style. Keep up the great job!
Louisiana food just laid the smack down on UK food! 😂
That's not that hard to do.
The moment I watched Jolly's video, I knew yours would come soon after haha
If you come to New Orleans, let us know, we'd love to treat you to a meal or two here.
We'll put you out of your bbq/ nacho misery.
Cracklins are pork belly, smoked and fried.
The baked potato has lots of butter, sour cream, melted cheese, crumbled bacon bit and finely diced green onion on top.
We have places in the USA that serve baked potatoes with your choice of fillings and/or 6 or 7 versions you can choose from. The theory is you can stuff a potato with just about anything and not go wrong.
You do want the pork ribs like that. It makes the flavor profile just out of this world good.
I wish they’d try Parish restaurant in northeast Louisiana where I’m from. It’s one of the few places where I’ve taken a bite of food and had to sit back and take in the goodness. 🤤 I went once with my sister to celebrate her getting married and we all tried each other’s stuff and it was all phenomenal from drinks, appetizers, entrees to desserts.
BBQ nachos are very delicious! Several versions exist all over.
I love Ollies emotive face. You can immediately tell what he's thinking good, bad, or confused.
Each state/region will have it's own version of BBQ.
The fun part is that BBQ changes a bid depending on region. It's all good though and yes a family/party platter does look something like that at most places.
I'm just glad they having their crew have their reactions. They're quite good as well.
Everything they ate is absolutely amazing!!
The UK should be fined a hefty sum for the atrocious things you said you do to a baked potato! What did that poor potato do to y'all? It deserves better! 😢
Come to the USA love, we'll feed you well, and show you the errors of your culinary ways.😊
Nice! I really like the Jolly videos. :)
It saddens me to know you don’t have real smoked bbq in the UK. You are missing out on the best meat’s and food you’ve ever had. Come to the state’s and give us a shout out and we will get you to those best bbq places to grub
You don't need to know what the words are. Just know that they all translate to delicious 🤤🤤🤤
Just move here, any state. I promise you won't regret it.
That's some awesome cracklin. I'm prepping a pork butt right now for thanksgiving. Gonna smoke it and shred it.
Just tagged you on insta with a shot of last year's thanksgiving brisket. 🤤
When you goto Louisiana you HAVE to try gumbo, and red beans and rice with andoulli sausage!
EWWW Baked beans on a baked potato . . .ya NO! LOL Yes, we can get the type of beans you all eat - but they are really bland . . we have BBQ beans and probably 20 other types/flavor of beans! When I see you react to foods - when you do come to the US - I think you should start in the southern states seriously....Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and part of Texas - I say part depending on how long you plan on being here because it's a huge State! Seriously! Then next trip do the west coast - and see all the beautiful state parks you will love!
Lewis, I agree with you, You gotta come visit us in Louisiana! It's totally worth the trip for the food alone, but the people and the atmosphere is just so laid back and easy going. It's like nowhere else in the US. Of course, being a Louisianian myself, I might be a tad biased lol
My husband and I talked about opening a barbecue restaurant somewhere in the UK.
Sweet as candy is an exaggeration but there is definitely Brown Sugar in most rib sauce.
Of course you can order food for one person. They're recording a video so they ordered everything on the menu to try.
Bruh, you should watch the JOLLY episode when they ate BBQ IN TEXAS. Now that was 😋😋😋. I ❤ Our BBQ here in Texas. The sauce isn't honey flavored 🤢 or sour 🤢 or too spicy 🥵.....just plain old homemade bbq sauce that honestly, I don't even use 90% of the time bcuz any of the BBQ meats smoked for 14-18hrs taste AMAZING 😍😍😍 on their own. Just my opinion...haters need not reply.thx 😂.
Check in Lew’s videos. I think he did react to Jolly’s Texas bbq video.😊
I would recommend Austin, Texas for beef bbq, New Orleans for Cajun, Creole and seafood, and Charlotte, North Carolina for pork. New Orleans is not known for bbq, although I’m sure they have some great restaurants there.
Mutton in Kentucky.
We also make baked potatoes topped with bbq. 😁
I love to fix a fat baked potato and top it with butter, cheese, sour cream and smother it with chopped bbq brisket. Heavenly!!!!!
And come on over. We have killer BBQ over here and you will fall in love with it!
Now you understand why Americans are a bit plump. We have AWESOME FOOD.
