      Thanks chap much appreciated, yeah editing is difficult on windows movie maker as very limited to what you can do, but I make the most of it and most of the time the videos come out OK. Just a shame a 8 minute video takes 3 days to create haha. Many thanks

    hello thank you for your video on this bike at a good price because I do not have great means I changed the battery and I put a 15 AH which transformed this bike in power and autonomy and finally I changed the display for a 6-pin S866 and am very happy I would like to change the front fork but I don't have the budget yet thank you good luck

    The point of electric bikes is to pedal in sync with the motor speed. Rohloff works best. You should pedal with a throttle.

    I really agonised over buying an e bike after my heart attack. But when we moved home up a very hillly area in Spain I really did not have a choice! I know it was an expensive bike but I bought a specialized tero 3 and love it. I can travel about 80km on a charge, which includes getting 4 km back up to our housee at 650m altitude. I mainly follow a river route and explore the area with my panniers and a back pack. However, last weekend i went to a local mountain and reached 1050m altitude and over to the other valley. I weigh 90kg and this bike has 3 settings. Eco. Trail and turbo. I am confident of a full 5 to 6 hours ride. It has opened up my love of cycling again. Thanks hippy for this.

    Hey! So im currently in the market for an ebike to replace my car and stumbled across this bike! And so far this seems to stand out but just seems too cheap for what it can do 🤔 would you personally recommend this for someone looking to commute 12 miles daily? Oh and great vid too!

    • @hippyswift
      @hippyswift  2 роки тому +2

      Hey thanks, if you use the assist mode you should be able to travel on this bike over that distance without issues. The manual says 60km on assist mode & throttle mode only is 30km. I normally use assist mode for more miles, and this works very well. I find big hills drain the battery faster but that is to be expected. Hope this helps

    I haven’t gone over to the “dark side” yet. However, I’m approaching 70 years of age so the day may come.😅. Possibly one of the drawbacks in a group setting is, whereas previously it was the fit and the unfit, now it’s bike and ebike.

    Good to see another video after a while. Few issues with this bike though....
    First off, the presence of the throttle means it's not a road legal uk/eu e-bike ( best called pedelec). What you're riding is a motorbike. A motorbike that needs a "type approval" , tax, registration, number plate, helmet, etc, etc. So you're breaking a bundle of laws and, if caught, or if police found some evidence of you riding it on publicly accessible "way", you could be prosecuted for bundle of separate offences. (A legislative road can be summed up as a way for travelling along that the public have a least tolerated trespass along even if that is only by foot.). In the video the paths you cycle along are legislative roads, but the beach is not.
    As with most cheap ebikes, the max distance given is grossly generous. To be fair most companies do this. For a battery that small you're looking at half the given distance.
    Battery does appear to be missing a battery management system, which are little devices in the battery pack that balance the charging of the batteries, and commonly report the percentage left value to you via a bluetooth app. These bluetooth apps systems are really important, because you can stop charging at 90% and nearly double the "lifetime" of the battery.
    Motor is built into the rear wheel. Mid-hub motors are, arguably, better since the power goes through the gears. Suspect the actual motor is 500w, with 250w limitation which would also make it illegal, but hard to be sure with language used in spec.
    If you want a cheap ebike, and are confident with bike tools, then build your own. Two motors stand out. The Bafang mid-drive or Tongsheng mid-drive. Bafang is dominant and is/was cheaper, but the Tongsheng has the big advantage of torque based assistance and very little drag when off. Also get a bigger battery than you need from a reliable battery pack dealer, and make sure it has a Bluetooth battery management. Try not go over 90%, and preferably store at 70%. This can double/triple the life of the battery. Think of the battery a bit like tube/tyre that gets stressed under high pressure.

    • @hippyswift
      @hippyswift  2 роки тому +1

      Yes many people have created very nice electric bikes with kits etc, I may have to pimp up my mtb with one at some point. Yeah battery is a very rough guide at best, but having said that it's much better for on road & if you put slick tyres on it, it would do a bit further too 😁 electric motorbikes are judged by speed & can not have ved expenses like fossil fuel cars. Anything over 25mph needs a provisional licence and over 50mph needs at least a cbt training coarse to ride lagally and also need plates.
