In my opinion, Owens Corning should not be in this list as one of the “best” because theirs are builders grade/cheaply made shingles. Owens Corning may be one of the 5 largest companies, but I would not say they are 1 of the best.
Why is this video talking about THE BEST when there is absolutely no mention of Malarkey ??? That's a big no no my friend. Literally talk to ANY of your local roofers and ask them what they think about Malarkey shingles - you are welcome.
Since malarkey’s claim to excellence is in class 4 (hail resistant) products. If you are not in an area that sees hail very often probably wouldn’t come across malarkey. In my 40 yr experience (malarkey products have been in production about 35 yrs compared to 100 yrs+ for gaf. CertainTeed constantly is a problem for our company. That combined with their unwillingness to own up to problems. They are a definite no for my company.

I thought they were supposed to be one of the best. Getting my roof replaced & roofer recommend owens corning duration as one of the best shingles.
I haven’t learned anything about the shingle companies. He gave me a brief history. It doesn’t help me pick a shingle.

Malarkey has zero contractors within 150 miles of my house, so my local roofers don't have much to say about their shingles.
