When people that aren’t PSU specific reporters try to cover Penn State, it usually is obvious that they don’t know much besides “Penn state loses big games”. This felt different, I hope you can cover all these northern teams with the same detail. I enjoyed this one. Doug reminds me of Colin Cowherd in some ways. Hope you are wrong about the opener, right about the B1G championship for Penn State :)

CJF is playing all the head games. I bet Julian Fleming shows up big for PSU this season, and they're keeping it all under wraps. 👀

If Penn State loses to wvu they will be 8-4 or 7-5 this season. the problem is 10-2 in the Bigten and 10-2 in the sec are different. The bigten has a bunch of bottom feeder teams in it. 10-2 against Indiana Illinois Rutgers northwestern Maryland Purdue it doesn't really mean much.

Vandy, Miss State, South Carolina are any better? It exist in every conference

The top 2 teams in the SEC and top 2 in the Big 10 will decide the national championship every year. That means only about 6 teams total even have a chance. The teams that offer the players the biggest payout are the only teams with a chance at a natty. College football is officially ruint forever. It's a slow but steady progression. Like what we saw in major league baseball when George Steinbrenner single-handedly got the ball rolling towards ruining MLB.

W Virginia bad on defense good on defense. We're good on both. W V loses best two offense linemen.

The last two years....PSU has had the worst receivers in D1. Why Julian Fleming would come here is beyond stunning.

This guys (Doug Lesmerises) pre-season evaluation isn't great. In 2005, he chose PSU to finish at the bottom of the Big 10 when they won the big 10 and went on to win the Orange bowl. Joe Pa and PSU used this guys prediction as motivation for the entire season.

Not sure what Doug is smoking but Penn State does not go 10-2 if they open with a loss vs WVU.

Great info gentlemen. I've been a PSU fan for over 40 years. Franklin promised to resign if he didn't make the 12 team playoff this season. As much as it hurts, I'd kinda like to see him leave State College for good this winter.

I am not believing in Penn State until they show me they have an identity in the trenches. Everyone blamed the OC, Allar and the WRs last year, but when they played the two NFL caliber d-lines the last few years in Michigan and Ohio State, they got bullied up front. Offensive line has been the Achilles heel of the Franklin era.

Bro…our left and right tackles were 1st and 3rd round picks followed by a center that went in the 5th round. That’s the most PSU linemen drafted in one season that high since I can remember. The O Line wasn’t the issue last year it was the scheme and how they were used. That’s what makes OC Andy Kotelnicki the tipping point of this season. His scheme is the thing that will determine the strength of the offense
