Loved your list mate, and I don't mind Broken Sword at the top spot. It's all about personal feelings in this genre. My list in no particular order: KQ5, Larry 6, Gabriel Knight 1, Day of the Tentacle, Indy Fate of Atlantis, Broken Sword 1, Monkey Island 2, Curse of Monkey Island, Under a Killing Moon (this one is a gem!) and Blade Runner. I'm probably the only one who wouldn't put Grim Fandango on my list, but back in the day I never made it past the puzzle where you have to plant the sigh in the forest to open the underground passage and got pretty fed up with the controls as well. I think the puzzles in GF were too difficult. Even when I played though the upgraded version, I still got hopelessly stuck every 3 minutes :)
Have you played the Tex Murphy series? They really are something and the main character is also one of the main developers. I love games with "shitty" actors and not Kevin Spacey or some overpaid hollywood actor. Back then it was literally the devs who had to act :)
Very cool video man, I actually watched the whole thing. Day of the Tentacle wow.. one of the best games ever. I used to play it a ton with my friend in California. This brought alot of nostalgia. I doubt anyone knows about this game but me, but did you ever hear of one called Ween: The Prophecy? it was seriously cool, but very few played it. It would have fit in good at #11 on your list haha. Dude make some more of these gaming videos! I subscribed.
@@AdventureGameHotspot Ok, I think it's underestimated tbh. Maybe a bit short, but the ambiance and style is excellent. I also think KQ7 is underestimated. If you play the whole game through from start to finish it's actually quite good!
hypothesis: most blame Sierra games, don't rank 'em at the top, for their difficulty, out of spite, because at some point they got a bad ending, or a blind end
I really enjoy the Larry series. The sixth part with the incredibly sarcastic narrator makes me piss myself everytime. They just nail the voice acting. It's maybe one of the most underappreciated arts. Making a character come to life with your voice isn't easy. Even good actors fail at that quite often because it's quite different from traditional acting since you have nothing that responds or interacts with you.
Awwww I'm a bit disappointed that Indy only made it to the honourable mentions, Fate of Atlantis is my second favourite point and click adventure, just after Monkey Island 2. 😅 Solid list though, I really enjoyed listening to your thoughts on these games. That's an instant sub. 😊
