No, I would not restore it. I would clean it up and get it back on the road! It's in really nice shape. The paint back then was better, it might clean up pretty nicely, and scratch repair I'd any.
I can't believe it! My mother and I were just reminiscing about our 62 Merc wagon we had when I was a kid. We were remembering when Mom, my stepdad, sister and I went to get Xmas trees with it. My sister and stepdad are gone now but we have fond memories of that wagon.
Honestly the best part is meeting awesome people like that. It really seems that people who enjoy car, trucks no matter the make or model are some of the best people in the world.
Wagon doesn't start? Don't call Jim unless you have spare time. I'm jealous of you. I don't know what it is like to have money burning a hole in my pocket. Felt some warmth one time but I was wrong. Good luck Buddy!!!
Awesome wagon. The interior, dash, knobs and the tail lights are really cool. Thanks for the video guys. Great job negotiating the mud and rocks Jolene.
Beautiful station wagon Chad. That's a gem. Looks solid and all original paint too. Interior is in amazing shape. Someone took great care of this baby. Love it what a great find. We had a 69 Ford Fairlane 500 station wagon in our family back in the day. Folding tailgate. Bias ply tires didn't help for cornering. LoL.Pretty smooth driving vehicle. Lots of use out that vehicle. Very cool. Thank you for sharing. Alberta, Canada.
Love the wagon!!! I think it would be a fun driver just like she is...just a few little touch ups and fix the headliner and driver her...thank you for taking us with you on this journey.
Back when cars were actually functional for utility. I'd just clean it up, detail it and keep it as a survivor. It doesn't roar but keep the six. Nice car to cruise NS with.
Love it, I was born in 1962 ,so I like vehicles from that year, put a little tint to the back windows clean it up she be stylin 59 years old,God bless.
My friend has a 59 Mercury Commuter station wagon and its the ultra rare two door version...its a monster, especially for here in the UK. Keep it as it is... bet you wont see another one.
Nice buy Chad and jolene that's definitely one big car .the chrome is the part I think looks awesome it's really going to shine once it's cleaned up. Keep up the great work the both of you 👍
Chad & Jolene what a cool couple you two are . True Artist showing the process & sharing Bits of of your world with us . The Real Deal ! So cool ! Thank you Both !
Sweet beach wagon! I’d clean it up and leave it original as my daily driver. Owned a ‘69 Country Squire wagon with 390, and a ‘64 Falcon wagon with 289. They were great for kids, groceries, laundry, garden supplies and all.
That car is a real sweetheart time machine! Buddy kept it in great original condition, might have to hook up with him when I get home and get to work on my old Fords! This wagon was priced very nice too! I just got a 64 Comet Caliente 2dr for the same, but it has rust. Still, got a 289 4-speed so we're good to go!
Wooohoooooo..road trip...now that is a cool lookin wagon..very unique..dont think I ever seen one like that...awesome buy guys...thanks for takin us along chad and jolene
My first car was a 1961 Merc Monterey sedan, 352 2bbl with a two speed automatic. Could not get out of its own way. Love to se what you do with this one. Thank you , take care and peace out
i love the old wagons, I have a 56 Buick and 58 olds wagon . They are all super rare. They were the SUV of their era . used and abused by families and most got scrapped . The one you are looking at looks in nice shape
I see a lot of Buick inspiration in the styling of this senior Ford. And this looks magnificent, where most of these, if you could find ANY, were destined for the crusher long ago already. It looks that good that you only have to restore it where needed, and keep it running condition.
Grandma had one one of those '62 Ford station wagons, hers was the same color. It was great, you could see everything out of the big windows in the back.
I took a road trip in Miramichi in the same time you were there. Too bad i didn't know. It would have made my day meeting you in person. Keep the great work. Very inspiring.
That's a nice car you got be nice to see you leve it as is and not cut it up and get it running good to see you and your sweety pie going for rides on Sunday s

Hi Chad If this Mercury was mine, and I knew you and Jolene wanted it, I'd give it to you. I'd consider even paying for the shipping to you from California because I would know you will provide a good home for it and probably bring it back to a GOOD life.

No, I would not restore it. I would clean it up and get it back on the road! It's in really nice shape. The paint back then was better, it might clean up pretty nicely, and scratch repair I'd any.

Great find! I am surprised by the low price.
This is an interesting car. I wonder what you would do with it.
It will be fun to see what you will do with a station wagon. Haven't seen too many heavily customized. Most stay away. Looking forward to it.

Station Wagons are awesome... I had a 1994 Ford Taurus wagon that had the rear facing back seats. Fond memories....

Yep, a dedicated Ford man knows if you drive a Ford, you have to have several more in the back yard for parts.
