How to Mount a Pelican Case to Your Roof Rack

- Here is the simple and cost effective way to mount Pelican case or any hard case to your roof rack. I take your through the entire process, these step will have to put you at ease while drilling through your very amazing and expensive case.
Also, there is some bonus footage at the end that shows you how I mounted my Maxtrax with a customer made mount made out of countertop brackets.
ALLLLSO, I added some rubber edge trim to the Front Runner propane holder and to the bottom of the propane tank to give it all some extra protections.

Pelican are great. I've have a small Pelican case mounted on my rear swing gate. I used rubber washers to water seal the holes that the bolts go through. Make sure and use an outdoor rated pad lock if you are going to lock it. I had a pad lock rust closed on me. Learned the hard way.
Do you have any suggestions on locks? I also need to get locks for the maxtrax
@@4X4Carpool I grabbed an outdoor rated Master lock at a local hardware store. There are tons of options available. If you Google weatherproof pad lock, a bunch will come up. I did have to drill out the hole on the Pelican case just a little. I see you use the same quick release Maxtrax mounting pin that I do. They are great. They accept a very small padlock but I found it just as easy to run a small cable through the Maxtrax. I have an RTT on top now. So, my Maxtrax usually go on a spare tire mount.

Awesome video! Loved how you presented everything. I also love your custom Maxtrax mount as well. Question: since it's in such a position, is it hard to take them out to use?
Do you feel the height of the cases are too high? I have the same exact ones that I have yet to install. I noticed every “case install” video on youtube, the cases were a lot shorter.
These cases are about the same height as my roof top tent, so not a huge issue for me. I was worried that there was going to be a lot of wind noise, but I haven’t noticed anything yet and they have been up there for a couple months now. Before installing I did come across other people with about the same sized Zarges cases and Alu-box cases, which put me at ease. After I finished the install my first reaction was “maybe I didn’t get big enough cases”, but now I feel like they are perfectly sized for what I’m going to use them for. What are you installing them on?
I’ll be installing on a prinsu in front of my Tacoma. I don’t have a roof top tent so I’m curious if it will look funny or if there will be a ton of wind noise.
