  • Assassin's Creed Mirage finally has a proper gameplay demo showing off what assassins creed mirage is actually going to be like.
The original gameplay trailer for ac mirage that released a few weeks back did not impress me all that much but thanks to this assassins creed mirage gameplay demo most of my criticisms have disappeared.
Assassin's creed mirage genuinely looks fantastic but there are some minor issues i have with it.
These are my thoughts on that gameplay demo of assassin's creed Mirage

I kind dig this game. It feels the more AC then it has been in a long time. Last ones were Rogue and Unity. Syndicate was to Gimmicky, I just could get into Origins, Odyssey was annoying with a ok villain, and Valhalla was fun when I was raiding and burning down villages but not as fun being Assassin. Here is hoping this is good. I like Desert themed games so I might really like this one. Also Basims Assassine Robes in this game I really did them. The blue one not the red one shown is some promotional art. They really feel like they fit the setting. Like I can buy them blending in.

    The things I hate:-
    1. The teleportation ability. Even with a teleportation ability it still look slow.
    2. The wind effect during throwing a knife & using a sword.
    3. Too slow to continue throwing a knife after an assasination. I wish that the movement is more quicker. Basim's movement looks too lazy, too chill when throwing a knife after an assassination.

I saw a comment about a hour ago point out that it looks like they weren’t using high profile for sprinting? There is a moment where basim speeds up significantly in the demo so maybe our movement speed increases throughout the game? That could be neat

@@JacksGameReviews Man, I think Valhalla wrote them in a corner with this one, as both Basim and his Isu version teleport. I elaborated on this point in a more verbose comment if you don't mind spoiling ACV for yourself, but the TL;DR is that everything points to this being the only superpower - because of Valhalla's events and potrayal of the character. And yes, I'll be very displeased if it isn't so.

@@JacksGameReviews from what little they did show it looks like it’ll be good. They said Basim will be a glass canon and the combat likely uses the Valhalla/Origins system as a base it’ll probably be most similar to Unity. I say this as it looks like Unity’s system of parrying is somewhat coming back, but it’s improved. Instead of basically getting free attacks off a perfect parry like in unity from what we saw you get to either get a free kill, like in the counter-combat era of games where you parried and instantly killed an enemy, or could kick them which could have a variety of gameplay implications from taking them out of the fight to possibly being able to knock down enemies behind them should they fall into them or just simply use it to get an opening to escape. We also saw that certain armored enemies will be immune to attacks from the front, which will like incentivize dodging behind them, same with spearmen if they work exactly like Valhalla. I imagine from what we’ve seen there will be a small amount of enemies like the older titles but they have varied attacks also taken from Valhalla, like maybe the guardsman has the ability to throw dirt in your face like that one enemy in Valhalla can. I imagine there will be more than one faction so it’s possible that while we’ve only seen the Baghdad guards there could be a gang faction that acts similar to the bandit faction in Valhalla with shared archetypes across the factions but each one has differing abilities for those archetypes. That last one is just spitballing but with them using Valhalla as a base they’d have access to those things.

Similar to Arno’s disguise and Evie’s invisibility regarding stealth, Assassin Focus (the teleport thing) is the Animus exaggerating Basim’s speed, as the devs said back in September he is canonically the fastest character in the series.

One thing I feel nobody has noticed is that every single time they do parkour in the video, it is never at Basim’s full speed. In Valhalla you could jog forward and still parkour, it’s the same for this game. Throughout 99% of the demonstration they never press the sprint button, HOWEVER, after Basim kills the guy who shoots down his bird, he crosses a rope with full speed, scales up a wall pretty fast, and runs foward on the roof stupidly quick. That run speed on the roof right there, IS the full speed on display, they just for some reason wanted to show it slowly first which I never understand why demonstrative videos like these do that but aye, just thought i’d point that out somewhere

To be honest, I lost interest after Black Flag and Rogue. The buggy mess of Unity and the beautiful recreation of London in Syndicate failed to captivate me. In my opinion, the post-story content was not compelling enough to keep me playing. The presence of microtransactions in Origins really put me off, despite my enjoyment of its visual beauty. As for Odyssey, it felt lacking in substance and was more like a placeholder. I didn't even bother trying Valhalla as it didn't appeal to me. Therefore, I have no interest in Mirage. But of course, this is my opinion and you don't have to agree with it. It is what it is for me. It's very unfortunate because their recreation of the world is fantastic; it's just the interaction and storytelling within that world that fall short for me.

Even when AC Mirage are using a new fresh character we will fall in love with him already but once that teleportation skill steps in? it can messed up all of your hard work Ubisoft. Don't make him wierdly invincible like Evie Frye too which is a good thing that you don't do that so far we can tell.
You see Assassin's Creed Sci-fi is a special kind of Sci-fi. There are limits to it that uniquely makes it a stand out franchise in the first place and that is what most people that bought Ubisoft excuses failed to understand.
it's not as simple as "well, then don't use it. well, then don't max out the level" and stuff like that. This is not some random sci-fi game. For some of us fans it's part of our chilhood history and core memory. If anyone trying to diss to what dearest to you what do you think you're gonna do? you definitely gonna do your dang best to protect it and stick with it.
This is not just some random game, some of us even pass language class, history class, we get to know historical people, historical places and all it's story within a game and get ahead of our class because of this franchise. This franchise has a potential to make us become a better person and not just for killing your precious time fighting giant monsters and after that OK I'm done, that was good.
After we finish an Assassin's Creed, we learn something precious & useful instead of wasting our time.

Already lost after black flag, but came back cuz of origin. That one was a fresh experienced for me but lost again when the odyssey came out. I don't like how they handle the game like that, the quantity of contents are too much for me to handle and it's more tedious and repetitive than origins, if only they just release that game not undername of "Assassins Creed" it probably gonna be good game. Don't get me wrong, it is a good game but a bad "Assassins Creed" game. I'm not even touch Vallaha but I already now it was a bad "Assassins Creed" game. I got little interest on this Mirage but since the game was made for Valhalla DLC instead they made this as whole new game with full price (like they did on farcry 5) I can't blame myself for skeptical how bad this game will be. What I hate from this showcase is how they handle that basim's focus assassination badly, that teleportation jump is bs. If only they make it like simulating the assassination chain point first and then basim/player need to approach that assassination point manually before triggering chain assassination animation, that would be logical or make sense and that little lag/short teleportation can be explain as a lag from animus can't follow how fast basim move. Sorry if I can't explain it better since english wasn't my native language.

I don't know how many times I'm gonna have to say this for people. "The teleportation" is just visual effects. It's just baslm moving so fast that it looks like teleportation. If you've ever watched demons later you would know that the attacks are visual aspects.

It fits perfectly in an assassin game. It shows you how quick swift and calculated each kill is

There are so many things that do not belong in this game's story. They should have actually gotten a real Middle Easterner help with this, and I don't mean someone who came to the west from the Middle East but grew up here. I mean someone who actually knows the culture and laws of the land and follows them. Because all this super progressive bullshit like women being part of the Assasin group or actual Sub-Saharan Africans being there and being part of the group and area is ridiculous. This crap doesn't even fly in the Middle East today, and it certainly wouldn't have been ok the 900's. The women would be covered up and holding traditional women's roles. And Sub-Saharan Africans would have either been slaves or they would not welcome on their lands at all. They don't even allow that now let alone 1,000yrs ago. I'm so tired of Ubisoft and their fake Multicultural narrative that they post at the beginning or eveey game. It's total billshit. They're all people from the same California Naive Marxo-Dork culture with just different ethnic backgrounds...lol!
If this is set in the Middle East then make it like the Middle East. And the same goes for the last two games they made as well. They need to stop insulting other people's nationality and culture by creating this nonsense.

As. a gamer who's been playing games for a long time. I think going completely back to the roots would be too limiting.
I like the new assassination power. I know it's not that realistic but it brings more to table I think.
And let's be fair. AC has never been realistic. Eagle vision, leap of faith, climbing huge structures with no resting, assassinations from high distances that would break your leg if you actually tried to perform it. Tearing down wanted posters somehow making people forget who you are. Bleeding in with crowds though you clearly stand out. Not mention the pieces of Eden.

While I kind of agree the reality is mirage is technically just a massive dlc unfortunately
I think if it sells well we could see another back to roots game built from a new engine but one can only hope

This opinion is what will kill this franchise. From the get-go we knew this game was originally a dlc for Valhalla that was given more time in the oven to almost completely remake Valhalla’s systems into something that at least will feel like Assassins Creed, and for what limited resources and how small the dev team is what they’ve done is simply amazing. No it won’t be as good as the old games, but it’s a step in the right direction and if we praise what we want and demand more Ubisoft will listen. That’s how we got the rpg trilogy, Ubi had them developed after hearing feedback from the community post-Unity about how it was dissatisfied with the classic gameplay loop, so they went towards the rpg formula.
I’m not going into mirage thinking it will be all the best games mashed together, I’m going in thinking they completely revamped Valhalla to strip it of its rpg mechanics and make it closer to the older games but at its base it’s still Valhalla. What I’ve seen so far has gotten me excited as it’s not only what I expected but it’s exceeded those expectations. Sure I’m not particularly thrilled that they didn’t even slightly alter Eivor’s animations to fit Basim or bring in either Odyssey’s or Bayek’s animations and alter those to make Basim look less like Eivor with a model swap but at the same time I understand where their priorities are. Their priorities are with the mechanics, gameplay loop, story, map, and modeling. Adding animation work on top of all that would be way more than this small team could handle in the timeframe they had, if they had more people or more time it could work but ultimately if reusing Eivor’s animations means that the underlying system feels better I’m okay with that. AC1 through the Ezio trilogy reused practically all the same animations, same with AC3, AC4 and Rogue, and the same is true of Unity and Syndicate. It’s not unique to Assassins Creed, hell Fromsoft used decade year old animations from demon souls in Elden Ring. What matters most for a game is it’s gameplay, because at the end of the day it’s a game.
What we want is not what we’ll get from Mirage, but Mirage is the game we need. It’s the game to show Ubisoft that the classic formula works and is profitable, because if it isn’t then Ubisoft won’t make AC games with the classic formula. It’s also the game us fans need because it’s going to hopefully teach the fanbase two things, to temper expectations and to continue to push for the classic formula. Only then will we have classic AC back.

@@iterationfackshet1990Your opinion Isn't good aswell. If we need to praise something that is just bare minimum to get ubisoft to make more actual assassin creed game then whats the point. If ubisoft doesn’t care about the game they should not make it.
