- Mad Max is one of those games that is both fantastic but failed to sell well due to being released right in between two franchises, fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 so mad max naturally went under the radar.
Today we are playing through the opening hours of Mad max showing of the game as well as some bits of the story.
I'll be discussing gameplay mechanics many of which are weirdly innovative while copying many other popular franchises like batman Arkham.
If anything i hope todays video will convince you to give mad max a shot.

Only thing i wanted more off was a better soundtrack, would of loved a similar score to the fury road film, that soundtrack is awesome

This game is insanely good. The hand to hand combat is extremely satisfying, feels very meaty, the kicks and punches connect really well. Upgrading the car and just roaming the desert, taking down convoys felt just right. I just checked, I spent 126 hours with this game on my one play through, I just had to get all the achievements :)

@@JacksGameReviews We didn't even talk about the sound design. The gas guzzlers roaring, the sandstorms whistling and the voice acting is pretty well done. Oh, and the story was pretty decent, too imo. I can't believe this game is 8 years old already. It holds up really well. Damn, I might have to re-install it and have another go at it :)
@@ElSelcho77 does it get harder? I turned it off after like 2 hrs cause it was pretty easy
@@Shaner373 It does get a little harder the more you go, but if it didn't tickle your fancy after two hours this game might not really be for you :) It sucked me in almost immediately, I just enjoyed the world building and overall vibe straight from starting up the game for the first time.

I finished the story almost a year ago and till this day I was trying to platinum it, but after doing all the trophies except for the last and hardest one, I figured out that the platinum on Mad Max is unobtainable as of October 31st 2020 due the servers being shut down and you need the online servers for the last trophy. I am so pissed that I put 80 hours on this game, 20-30 for main story and 50-60 for the platinum. But overall the game is good and very underrated.
Mad Max has been such a blast ever since I bought the game once again thanks to a sale couple weeks ago.
This is now my go to game because it's so much fun, simplistic, great looking and with a huge map. Totally underrated, mate.
Mad max is super good . Very underrated. I picked this up instead of mgs 5 just because I loved the look and I’m a huge mad max fan . Story is kinda bad and side quests are super basic but combat on foot and in car are awesome. I wish the made a sequel. Just fix the story and quests and it would be awesome
Great game. If only chumbucket would get off the car to grab the scrap for you. I remember that wrecking the flow a bit

You mentioned Witcher and Fallout, but the biggest issue was it released the same day as MGSV! I bought MGSV and after I was done with that I got Mad Max and I enjoyed Mad Max way more!

Such a damn good game! Also, if I remember correctly, this game also came out on the same day as MGSV! So I think thats why it was also a bit overlooked at the time too.
A lot of great games came out that year. But anyways, I really loved the combat in Mad Max. Each punch and kick just felt so satisfying!

Titanfall 2 playthrough. Now, you're making me nostalgic for a game I put 100+ hours into back in 2018. You know what? I'm down for the highlights series. I'd watch that. Might be just enough to keep me from going back to it myself. This is the kind of game you fall in love with, all while asking yourself "why am I so addicted to this?" Nothing in this game hasn't been done in a hundred other games, but it was done so well. Put together so seamlessly. Such a satisfying gameplay loop on so many levels. It's one of those "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" scenarios that is so rare in modern gaming. Cheers, man! I may just play it again. 😁
Hey i'm a bit late for a comment or maybe an opinion but i bought this game new in 2015 on PS4 , i love love love this game i actually been playing often since 2015 & still play to this day , love your reviews just found your channel , i definitely Subscribed , i would love to watch you do a full playthrough not sure you still will or have time to do one but i would for sure watch it thank you.

I love games where you can upgrade you car of character and it shows.
My most replayed game, like 7 times... I can't stop!
Also, one thing not mentioned much about the combat is the enemies don't do "slotting," like in Assassin's Creed for instance. Tons of dudes ganging up and they're just gonna take turns? No. You can play perfectly and still get your ass beat, particularly at the beginning, which doesn't happen in Arkham or other such games. Can't block-spam your way through. And Max doesn't magnetically glide to the attacking enemy like B-man does. Time it wrong, and your parry will cost you.
I like this game. Played through it 3 times taking my time. Great stuff. 👍

Thats a fair assessment, i can actually see a lot of people just not enjoying it but for me it's just super addictive, wanna keep playing it and i might depending on how well todays video does :D
