I think a neat thing that results from this is that with Prism, you actually want to put both to and bottom guns in one group, as it will make your ships automatically angle themselves.
Interesting, this design would lend itself very well to old-fashion line-of-battle tactics, perhaps with multiple lines stacked on top of one another to create a solid wall of fire, though you will need smaller escorts to screen your top and bottom flanks
Imagine when they introduce super dreadnoughts and Titans, this game will be awesome to watch. At some point someone will try to do a Star Trek or Star Wars style modded fleet, with shields and everything, this game has so much potential
@@mhraen they wouldn't be as fast, obviously (Honorverse speed is kind of insane). But the game has the mechanics down. Use 2 elements in the upper and lower portion of the ships to simulate the Impeller sails (these are indestructible objects until the ship is destroyed) and similar ones on the sides to simulate the sidewalls (these are weaker and for the sake of game mechanics can be brought down with kinetic weapons and missiles). The game has a very detailed rotation mechanic that would be a crucial tactical aspect of space combat to defend against attacks. The missile system is extremely robust, allowing precise management of missile trajectories and engagement methods, that simulate the Honorverse method. A countermissile system might have to be adapted, but the missiel system is robust already to account for that. Energy weapons are already in the game, so its just a matter of adjusting the values and mounts for Honorverse style. Obviously ship models with appropriate mounts would have to be designed and implemented, but dedicated modders could do it if they wanted. Don't know about missile pods, but maybe they could be implemented (unclear if possible, though carriers are coming, so pods could be considered as spacecraft and added). ECM and ECCM systems already in the game are are robust enough that they could be adapted and used in a Honorverse style mod. These are just my of the top of my head thoughts on how a Honorverse mod could be implemented with what the game already has and what is coming in the pipeline.
Man that game looks pretty, and fairly accurate too. One issue I have though: how do they explain away the heat build-up? Without radiators or sinks, wouldn't the constant heat buildup with no medium to carry it just cause the guns to melt?
One thing I don't like about this game is 80% of the time you are firing at a signal on the screen I know they are Miles away but still would be more fun to see things actually hitting the enemy
Canons in space. The lack of basic understanding is painful and really kills any interest I may have had. Not to mention that space, even in an asteroid belt is no where near so crowded in fact.
It's a strategy game dude. If everything were completely realistic it probably wouldn't be very fun to play. Sometimes you sacrifice realism for compelling gameplay. Sometimes you take an all or nothing type of negative attitude and miss out on a lot of enjoyment 🤔
@@17Scumdog I think the complete lack of originality will make this very much like so many other games already out there. Sometimes being different is in itself interesting and fun.
Chemical propellant isn't at all unrealistic, it's cheap and doesn't require power to fire and at the ranges you fight in this game they are fairly effective (there is a case to be made that the ranges you fight at are somewhat unrealistic but still, for gameplay purposes it makes sense). Even then you'd still have course adjusting shells (turning them into a form of guided missile) or just plainly have a very powerful propellant that accelerates them a lot. Cheap and robust weapons system that requires very little power and is decently versatile at closer ranges.
@@isaacthesharkwolf9038 ...do you have any idea what the recoil of a 15" naval gun is like? Now imagine that in a Zero gravity environment. Gas expansion weapons are a no go in zero g.

Thouhtful hull , and that is rare in sci fi. Its shape has a purpose and it's doing well
It really looks like one of the first naval dreadnoughts. Just asking for an artillery duel till the last ammo is spent.
Does that thing give off Homeworld 2 vibes or is it just me?
I wasn't sure at the time but when i saw it at 9:01, it really gives Homeworld vibes
its not just you that ship look like if the Battleship from Homeworld 2 was shortened and was smaller and maybe a little bit squished length wise
Higara battlecruiser vibes.
The stripped pattern, the slopping style all reminds me from Homeworld 1 and the planes from deserts of karak.
The thumbnail had me thinking it was HW3 gameplay stuff before I read the title. Either way, a worthy click.
Nice to see some No Hud footage! I love to see the Art uncluttered!

already shield mods in the game XD
It's already awesome to watch, bigger ships only add clutter.

A Star Trek mod with accurate flight mechanics within the Star Trek mythology would be amazing!!

Awesome ship
I thought the BB only had 52 cm of armour?
...You are correct. That's a mistake.
@@HighscoreTriggerhappy No worries, I thought maybe they’d given the BB a massive buff that’d somehow gone under my radar lol
We need this mod and others on steam as alternative choices. This looks amazing and will buy when the ship models improve.
I'm all for this functional design
in terms of armor the t54 of ships
Between LastStrategist and you, I think you got me convinced that this thing is a beast. thats soo many cannons..

The game is pretty inaccurate. I suggest playing Children of a Dead Earth if you want a more scientifically accurate experience of space warfare
The ships swim in liquid titanium and that also explains the top speed limit, see?

This is PRISM mod? Because I'm going to get that downloaded ASAP if it is, that ship is gorgeous.

6:38 HE shells? Why not AP shells? Or switch between them depending on the target?
if stellaris combat was like this......
With armor that light more of a battlecruiser than a dreadnought?
gorgeous !!!
I love the design. Up? Both side are up.
draeadnaught looks awesome. Needs more aesthetic designs in this game lol
The cartoonish hulls and colors throw me off. will wait on this one, on sale or if it dies
can you play with mods in multiplayer? Does everybody have to have mods installed?
You can play multiplayer with mods, everyone will need the mod installed.
The game has a system to automatically load mods that other players are using
why do the thrusters have a differenet color ? is it just cosmetics or suppoesed to be other technology like ion thrusters or something ?
Galactica mod when?
Woah hang on, did they add new OST music?
how many points was that ship?
I'd guess 3000
2500, a small child and your spleen.
If all the ships looked like that, I'd probably buy it.
Thx for the video!
hmmm Navy Field in space.....
The sloping would actually make you more vunnerable to rails as you would never be overpenned from the sides.
What's the penetration power of rails in this game?
Do they have any Expanse mods, like the Rocinante?
They have MCRN ships like the Donnager, but no Rocinante🥲
Super Carrier? Or a Titan?
What the game is that ?

A big ship like that doing speed of 27 m/s seems like cheating.
It's slower than a Solomon, but Flank speed does miracles with the proper choice of engines.
Flank speed on an axford can get you 27
