They used to sell them decades ago. It’s called an “Ozello Shrimper”. Not sure what year they stopped making them, but they work great! I built mine because I could not find one.
I started shrimping using a net. That’s what everyone uses. I’ve only met one other person out there using an Ozello Shrimper. The Shrimper is easier to use and catch rate is way higher.
Can’t beat fresh shrimp like that!
I didn’t keep any this trip. But that is correct! It doesn’t get any fresher!
Thank you brother for all that you do!
Looks like fun to me 🎉
I have absolutely missed shrimping since moving away. I am fortunate to be able to visit family often and scratch that itch!
Is it possible to buy that device you shrimp with?

Is there a place to set a shrimp trap? Is that possible?
I don’t know if anyone has used one there. But there are several deep pockets and troughs to try it. Don’t see why that wouldn’t work.
When does the season end? Is it too late? Im in Clearwater. I want to catch shrimp 🍤
It is nearing the end of the run but they are almost always out there! I don’t believe there is a closed season but I would check with FWC to be sure.
That area has alligators?
I have never seen one there in the decades I’ve been going there. Occasionally, further north at Anclote Fishing Pier, I have seen them in saltwater.
Ever thought about using a net?
