    Just won the all black Emissary 45 with 5 inch barrel. I put 200 rounds of ball ammo and 40 rounds of Sierra HP through it because they were cheaper than most SD rounds. I had a few FTF, which is from the all black mags that came with it. I purchased two extra mags from Springfield that are the same brand. They are a shiny stainless steel and didn't fail 🤷🏻‍♂️. Both are Mec-Gar. It's a tack driver with that bull barrel. The grip is great. The sights honestly aren't bad, but that rear sight will take time to get used to for me. It needs at least another 250/300 rounds through it before I would consider carrying it. It's a very stiff slide out of the box and the slide release was near impossible to use with one hand.

    When you have a Nastoff,an early Wilson, a Clark Heavy slide,a Springfield Armory HRT Professional and a couple Colts,and an Ed Brown with a couple 100 thousand rounds sent downrange.45 acp only, you know when you pick it up if it'll shoot.Put some skateboard tape on the slide if you need more purchase. I have it all over my Nowlin 6" Accu-Rail. It's a 2" gun at a hundred,but if I had to pick one The Custom Shop Springfield Pro is the one. It's all Black Ti, zero movement anywhere after 90,000 rounds . Not one failure or bobble ever. I did buy the Emissary after using a friend's.I despise square trigger guards on 1911's, I conceded because I wanted another bull barrel slide frame fit like my operator. Slight increase in between double taps on target. .21 down to.17 . I've noticed no loosening of any consequences, accurate in speed stuff. The first thing I do will All my 1911's is load a magazine with a few empties and pull and release slide ,if it won't feed, I don't send it away to make it I sell . Wilson and Colt are the best mags available.The Mec Gar that came with the Emissary with let you down at random. As far as that pretty Salt blued slide, it's really nice, mine starting to show high spots, don't care. It can be refinished. Good luck.👏

      My favorite 1911 is my Springfield TRP 45 acp, with my Dan Wesson Discretion a close runner up. Never had an Ed Brown and certainly haven’t put that much ammo down range. I have about 2k through my TRP. Thanks for watching and we hope you have subscribed

    • @CaffeineThrottle

      The TRP is great, I liked mine.Dan Wesson is making good good stuff. I'm really wanting the ECO, it's true Colt Officer Model size is really carry friendly and it's loaded with the right stuff.Browns are overrated mass produced all drop in stuff,you ain't missing anything there. Factory gun like the Emissary will hang with one all day.Thanks for the reminder I went back and subscribed.👍

    I purchased this pistol and threw out 50 rounds. It is a great pistol, I might be a bit biased since I cut my teeth on military-grade 1911s in Marine Corps from WWII. This is a solid pistol; the grenade pattern of the grip keeps the pistol securely in your hand. The sights are awesome, which are way better than the dovetail notch and front blade sight. Trigger pull is outstanding and was a little less than 5 lbs. I agree that field stripping this pistol is a pain in the butt, and you need some strength to get that allen wrench in to keep the spring compressed. I was used to carrying a Sig Sauer 9mm as my CCW, but now I will switch to the 1911 Emissary. Yes, you will need a heavy-duty holster for this pistol.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  Рік тому +1

    THe Emisssary (and the updted TRP) arae both more htan "good enough" quality 1911's for what are range guns (where most of us will only be using our guns). If we leave them stock OR if we want to swap in bullet-proof Wilson parts (essenetially turning them into Wilson guns...the differenes in a'hand-fitting are probably indistinguishable heh....). when you buy a "custom" I think you're just paying mostly fo the brand name and for the "pride of ownership"....a gun you can flex with at hte range....
    For around $500 in wilson parts you can turn any production 18911 ..that has good fit/finish, "hand fitting"...into a Wilson with bullet proof parts :..for less than half the cost :))
    Having said that Springfield could hae used all forged parts in the Emissar and TRP guns....

      Yeah I love the gun and still love shooting it. I’ve had zero issues but don’t understand a plastic trigger on a 1911. I’ve got one exactly like yours. Only thing I did to mine was I did a little color fill on all the laser etching they put on slide. So u can read it some and takes away from the shiny sides of slide. And I put a Wilson combat trigger in it. I do not like a solid looking trigger on a 1300$ handgun. Looks cheap as hell. Also I did keep the mags that came. But I buy Wilson mags as well. Because they are best mags u can buy. But then again. I’m very pro Wilson. They are top shelf and what they produce is best on market. My opinion only. Great vid on emissary. I do love mine. Carries well shoots great.

    Glad to hear, mine is on the way! This was a updated spin and more modern take on theyre 1911. Great price point i got mine for 1200 locally here. The onlyy thing you have to watch out for is if that slide gets wet i heard it does start to surface rust and pit very easily on that Blued finish. So thats one thing you really have to watch for. And the gun really is beautiful with that squared trigger guard, tri-cut slide, and handle pattern. I will most likely throw Lok Grips on mine as well to make it little wider in the handle and i just love Lok Grips, my shadow 2 was upgraded even more when i put them on.

    I absolutely hate front serrations on a firearm. I see these folks, (idiots), that for some reason think it's cool to have to press check their weapons, I guess cuz they see it on TV. If you don't know the condition of your firearm before you holster it,... I don't want to be anywhere around you.

      🤣 chill Rambo, most people have a habit of doing that; it’s like when u know you locked your house’s doors, but you still go check before going to bed.

      I (Trey) don’t really see the disdain towards them. I mean I see both sides but I take a stance of what does it hurt? I mean yeah it may not help some people, they may never use them. Please subscribe and check us out on Rumble if you haven’t already

      i cant stand front serrations either, i have a bul armory sas 2 ultralight thats a great firearm that has 2 draw backs for me, one, the grip frame is slippery compared my others and 2 the front slide serrations are so aggressive that during drills i shred my holsters and it catches cloth easily. I bought this emissary and for a production 1911 it is an outstanding shooter, it is a deadly accurate pistol even shoots group for group with the big buck pistols.
