I love that he saw himself as student and teacher....always willing to learn, always willing to share. The relationship between the two is always reciprocated. He was music, he was love, he was a gift. xo time is not healing this huge loss
+joeyenzo I agree with you. It still feels like it was yesterday. I mean I know I'm not family or a personal friend, but the man's music got me through some life changing experiences from the end of high school with the first album through college and now. I have always talked about us being Geminis and being the same age. I guess we were classmates in a way because his music as he grew help me grow too. I'd like to also point out something he said about his music. We have to listen to his current music with the ear that he's no longer 19 or 20 or even 30. One of his famous words, "if you stay in the same place and never change, you aren't growing. I'm not that young person any more. I've grown through my music." My point, I love it all. Thanks JOEYENZO for pointing out the importance of student and teacher. Love you Prince
Beautifully said Annie. We… as fans… should miss Prince… after all… his music and his songs became intertwined into our lives over decades, so why wouldn’t we miss him terribly.

Prince is so inspiring, after his first time on Bandstand, he had a young boy start playing the drums on bowls pots and pans with the broomstick for a guitar
Not only was he a musical genius, his humble demeanour makes him even bigger than he was. Such an inspiration to us all. Not many musicians can live up to his standard, if any.
Only once unfortunately. But the first of the last of his good series of shows. I've got a ranking of good concerts and then there's that concert lonely at the Mount Everest of experiences. He was on fire.
I am absolute MJ fan but daaamn Prince!! Musician SuperGenius!! Those two were so different yet there was a lot of similarity when you dig deeper about both of them. I admire and respect both, each in a different way.💙 💜 There will never ever exist someone like these two, they were truly God's gift to the world and mankind.
MJ and Prince are 2 separate artists that are completely different. MJ is the classical performance artist of perfection. Prince IS music period. They are both Legend's in their own way and Spirituality is what guided them both. To think of what Prince still had left to create and unfortunately MJ was already torn apart by insecurity in self. Prince did not have an ounce of insecurity, he knew he was Legendary and MJ seemed to constantly battle with himself for a sense of self. Insecurity is worse than a loaded gun to the head.
I feel bad for you. Prince as more talent in his teeth alone compared to mjs entire being. PRN revolutionized the music industry as we knew it. Mj didnt do shit. Mj didn't even play an i instrument, while PRN play every instrument known to mankind. Mj is of Mas poco talent. You couldn't pay me enough to endure an mj talentless concert but I have literally sold everything in my room to go to the dirty mind concert. That happened...FACTUAL
@@KrissyI1973 Prince could play 28 instruments when he was a teenager. He often played all the instruments for his albums in his studio at Paisley Park in Minnesota. Prince was genuine nothing fake about Prince he kept it real. Too bad I didn’t see him in concert, but I enjoy watching the videos. A musical genius!
Prince also wrote several songs for other artists that became their number one song! His Super Bowl halftime performance in pouring rain was the best performance in a FL down pour….
+ChiknThighTatorPie that's so cool I never seen him in concert that is a major regret you was lucky to c him at lease you got to see him before God call him home I can only dream of him RIP prince luv ya
Prince is a true legend. No one could ever take his place. He was sensational on the guitar. I could listen to his music all day every. I'm still grieving over his death. He's truly missed! RIH Prince! I luv you!
I've said it since Purple Rain, Prince is one of the most under rated guitar players ever & he was the best of my generation & one of the best ever to play guitar.. R.I.P You will be missed, loved & forever remembered....
The best ever better than them all Hendrix Santana Clapton Perry Lyndsey BB Van Halen Richards he was all in one & that's only on guitar next we should talk about piano & then drums
I think he was known for his guitar! Some may have secretly resented his talent, but he was so personable & giving, found it hard not to like him. Many of the "greats" pointed to Prince as the greatest, including Eric Clapton. He was asked once how it felt to be the greatest guitar player alive and he said "I wouldn't know, its Prince you should ask". (may not be exact words, but close) I saw a clip. He also had a phenomenal vocal range, piano & as you know dozens of other instraments. I think he grew up like many Americans, fractured family, not a lot of support or love, but in a way it fueled his desire & determination to develop his gift: love of music & entertaining. He had a fantastic sense of humor & love of life. The humor helps people like us that come from dysfunctional families get through life easier. He turned into a musical phenomenon, master entertainer, with his personality there were no others like him. I've seen many bands in concert over the years, many were awesome, gifted & very entertaining, but none were Prince. As he matured he only got bettered and that's saying a lot cuz I saw some awesome bands over the years! It still amazes (but not surprises) me how much he's affecting everyone, even after he's been gone for over a year. That says a lot about a person. He was definitely his own man, did things his way, but he shared himself with us. 💜💜 Peace. He will always be missed. At least he has his kids now.
Prince the genius of music, showmanship, performance, movie, concert, inventor and beautiful soul inside and out, you will for damn sure be missed by millions.
Anna Warner : Yes. We must GIVE Love & Value while they R still here.. Alive. I was a Prince Fan the day I saw 'Purple Rain' & brought everything I could get TWICE that same day. Tho' I've never met him, never saw him in concert, never met any of the bandmates.. same with Michael Jackson.. I did buy tons of their Music & actually saw the Jackson5 at MSG in NYC ages ago. My point is the WORLD adores our #Artists AND #People like me who truly adore them need 2 SEE them more in PERSON cause they R homegrown like us. Love is a verb. 🌎❤️⚖🎉✨
+Phyllis Hall I hear ya. Doesn't it feels that he lives on? There is so much alertness and awareness in Prince's spirit that somehow he transcends his bodily's passing to remain with the world.
+Phyllis Hall The big factor is also the deprivation of Prince from the mainstream media of today, the internet, for decades. Today since he's not living, there is no longer the need for him to protect his work in order to make a living. Now it really is about sharing his art. This makes him so precious, like diamond that is hidden away in the mountains that only now we just start diggin. All this media is totally new stuffs to be aired online.
I liked what he said about not playing his freakier songs live because of the responsibility of younger ears being about; he didn't think about it when he was younger.
+ArcaneThingOfBeauty Why is it that when people feel they are at an older age...and they might die any time...or turn to God that they have to be more cautious of the songs that were performed in their young days! It was not a bad thing...it is what made him Prince...and I think he should just celebrate it no matter what ! The thing I find he did not understand about the younger age group now...is singing songs way more mature than their age. Take for example Justin Beiber at 13 he came out with "Baby be mine". So singing Erotic City is not going to put a damper in today's society with the young generations! I think music...will always soothes the soul no matter what age.....if it's got a good beat....words sounds good....and it's a hit...well then it's all good! Plus let's keep in mind that music from back in the days did not have wearing lyrics like it does today...even with the rappin back in the days was clean...but not like now!
angelina delila Truth be told, he still talked about sex in his music AFTER 'gettin saved', he just toned it down and stopped cussing. Might as well kept on performing "P Control" and "Head", if you ask me.
angelina delila Teenagers are gonna be horny no matter who is or isn't singing about raunchy sex lol; maybe he feels that after 40 it looks ridiculous, too. I'm not sayin' he should've came out in zebra print panties like when he was 19, but maybe he thought he was too old to be gettin' wild on stage. He could still sing rawest classics, though.
AUGH, this show is such a perfect example of how in every way, he was so generous to his audiences -- he INCLUDED them in everything he did. Someone that blazingly talented, energetic and prolific didn't have to hand over entire choruses for the audience to sing, or chat with them spontaneously in the middle of his songs, but he DID, because he believed in music as a unifying force, and of course it created just a stream of love and connection flowing back and forth from them to him. He radiated that charisma and compassion in so many ways...auuuuugh how can he be gone?!?!? I can't. Nope.
I regret not seeing him live. I will never forget the party in Texas where I commandeered the stereo.I slipped in the 1999 cassette tape. Everyone thought the music was strange and I was even stranger! I bought his early albums. I listened to them every chance I got. I saw Purple Rain. I had no idea he played every instrument and he demanded to produce his own albums. With fame he was showing more of his personality. I didn't know the reason he had that attitude. I did not realize the depth of his talent. I did not know how good he was to his fans or the struggles he went through with the industry. I stopped following his career. My loss definitely. It has been amazing to learn his life story. It is sobering to think someone as healthy as he was would need hip surgery. How much he gave of his body performing that he was in pain. I will not judge him for taking pain medicine. It is so hard to deal with Chronic pain. Chronic pain is not a addict disease it is a human condition. It is easy to become addicted when one is dealing with pain and still working. I wish he had been able to get him help. I wish those around him were not so worried about his image. There is a difference between dependance on opiates vs true addiction. The problem is it is easy to cross that line and the pain is real. Rest in peace true Prince of our dreams. You have left this veil of tears (the human experience). There is no more pain or suffering for you. You are missed.
S Theriot believe me you are not the only one to recognize his greatness after his death. Many people have been saying the same thing. It is sad that its only when someone dies we realise just what we have lost.
The host Steven Hill must have been embarrassed when Prince had to remind him to introduce himself. The more of these videos and interviews that I see of Prince the more respect and admiration I have for him. The part of the interview when Mr Hill begged him to perform Erotic City and Dirty Mind. Prince's explanation was beautiful and showed maturity and caring about the younger generation. Excellent response from a musical genius.
I've always considered myself a founder of Paisley Park because I bought and love his music. Thanks Prince for giving me a respite from the hardship of everyday life. You're the best......
I'm 8 years younger then Prince and I play guitar some ya know, but not in my wildest dreams could I make music even close to the way Prince could. He was without a doubt world class.
Music IS a gift from God, Prince was sooo right. R. I. P. Prince. You were a precious gift from God, too. Now you are immortal...living in our hearts and minds for all time.
There are some people in our lifetime that just touch another human without physically interacting with them. I think of prince often. He impacts so many souls and each one in their very own personal way. He is passion and talent, he is love and he is legendary. He is beautiful and makes this world a better place. I use the present tense as I write this because Prince will never die as long as he is in the hearts that he touches.💜
I love watching him perform overall, but I find where he is one on one with the audience with nothing but his acoustic guitar the most pleasing to watch... Wonderful...and so sad... Gone way too soon...
Every time I see one of these live performances, I am blown away (but not surprised) by the amount of energy he gives to and demands from his audience. It seems like he is the host of the best party in the world, and he takes a personal interest to make sure EVERYONE is having the best time of their lives...including his band members. Because of this, and the love I have always have for his music, it makes me that much sadder that I couldn't make it to one of his parties...Miss U 4Ever, our Purple Majesty.
Musicology is and will always be one of my favorite Prince eras. That tour in L.A. was the first concert video that I saw of his, and it just blew me away. I saw him in 2012 in Chicago and he performed "Musicology." It blew me away! Although I never knew him in person, he and I connected on a much higher spiritual level on that evening. As he would put it, there was a "New Power" in the room on that night. He Is the greatest and I consider him to be my best friend. He imparted so much on me as a fellow musician and person. But Jesus had greater works than these in store for him, and that's why he called him home. He is a gift pure gift from God, nothing more and nothing less. It was so nice of him to loan him to us for a little while, before he called him home. To my dear friend Prince: Prince, what can I say? I thought/think about you day and night. You are my world. You shaped my personality and spirituality. I will always love and adore you until the end of all time. Thank you for all of the years of music that you shared and will continue to share with us, you are more than generous. And thanks for the single greatest nigh of my life, for I will cherish it until the end of all time! The flesh will miss you, but I know that you're with our father now, and he knows what's best. Who are we to keep you from paradise? I long for the day that I meet you face to face in heaven, I can't wait! Until that beautiful day dawns, rest in peace; "Welcome 2 the dawn," my Prince!
I was all good until....13:05 then I began to cry. "Sometimes it snows in April.. sometimes it feels so bad...sometimes I wish that life were ever lasting....all good things they say never last." April 21-RIP Prince. You are missed with much sadness.
i give a damn what anybody says, i belong in PRINCE. i don`t believe in god but every day i praise him, for having him....and i am so thankfull to life at the same livetime.some day they will say, do you remember this guy who set the world on fire?? and i can say ,yes i was with him.so we know what we know..... PEACE and b WILD!!!!!!
...and I still can't listen to Sometimes It Snows In April without crying. Hugs and Purple Kisses to my Purple Family that can relate to these feelings 😘
This is so good! I don't think I've ever heard him just sing by himself with no big show going on behind him. I guess having the band and dancers added to the showmanship factor he was known for, but this acoustic performance is more touching and beautiful.
Prince was on a completely different level. Prince could play every single instrument that was put before him. He excelled at piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums. No one will EVER incorporate music like The Prince.
Mad respect for him saying that he wouldn't play those songs anymore with 13y/o in the audience. He said he is older (and much wiser) so he looks at those songs in a different way now. Told him to play his records.
As Prince would say, "uh-uh!!" Shawanda Swazer says below that that she believes that Prince is just like the "average person." If by that she means he's human, I agree. But that's all he had in common with the majority There are those among us that are like comets - Hendrix, MJ, Elvis, etc., and Prince was a comet. They hit at an amazing speed, have a huge, brilliant tail and leave a remarkable impression on us all. They have an "other" factor. They teach us and we learn. So, "what we learn?"
we all are gifts from god but the only difference is Prince recognise his gifts and ran with it, he didn't care about people ridiculing him, or others perception of him all he cared about was his own inner vision, how many of us in this internet era succumb to others impression of us? just to fit in to the status quo. Prince, Bowie, Clinton were gifted unconventional and how many of us can throw off the shackles of conformity and be unique and peerless? I worry where true musical art and individual genius where is all that organic creativity unique talent going in 2016 ?
Yeah no doubt i agree with you but its just so sad as always it takes death, for us human beings to wake up celebrate and finally appreciate a divine master genius was walking amongst us mere mortals !!
+Suzy Six AMEN TO THAT! I was just reminiscing with a friend last night.I said " do you remember me having his RECORDS (LOL) back then and how much shit I took because of it? And she says, OMG YES!! From guys especially
>Shay Ebofin< Eloquently elegantly stated. Be Your Blessed Self ~ by any means necessary! This land is your land, this land is my land...from Minnesota...to Baltimore (Where Eye cuz bjorn). He's Black, White, Cherokee, Italian....all of us are a mixture. We are enhancing our culture by behaving as ourselves - contrary to current internet subculture! Sheeple will never lead true people, so let's not worry over immature minds. Folks will learn! Be a Peace!
...not to mention how much tho$e records are worth now: Just for fun find an actual RECORD store. Check the Price section. Everyone I've checked is EMPTY! Dust bunnies, nada! Check the online resell sights--Prices thru da roof!
Prince was such a iconic musician and artistic entertainer! I am so glad I have his music to keep his memory alive. He was so talented and I'm so sad that I will never get to see him perform again. Thank You Sweet Prince for sharing your artistry and music with the world!
It's been a lil over 8 year's since Prince has been gone from this world we live in but his music still lives on in all of those who are truly his fan's and fam as he calls us. Those who knew the real Prince can honestly say if he loved you with his heart than his soul wasn't far behind. I an love of those that was fortunate enough to have that. I still can feel him here with me, I feel his touch, kisses, his body an know he's with me always, especially when I'm down or I miss a dance move.I LOVE YOU BABY!!!!!!
Loved This it had me crying during it snows in April😪😪-My mom died in Dec. her name was April & she Adore'd Prince & Raised me on his Music-He has influenced me then & now even more so, I know she would've been devastated if she were here on Earth once he died! Hearing his music brings me So many memories! All good things they say Never Last...😪✌💜🙏☔ #RIPPrince & mommy 🙏
"Ain't no sense in voting, same soul with a different name. What's wrong with the world today?" Man, that just says it all doesn't it? Simply loved this more than I can express here Joey. Bless You and thank you so much for sharing. What a musical memory.
YHWH...I agree. I love MJ too and have much respect for his talents as an artist and entainer, but he really doesn't hold a candle to Prince's multi-talents/gifts. Prince was the total package and more! Love and miss him so much.
Stevie Wonder said,"If Micheal was the King of pop then Prince should be the Emperor" I AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY..we will not see another of his caliber,, at least not in our lifetime but that's alright because with this vast library of Music, Performances, and Interviews the Brother's brand of Musicology will properly instruct the next group of Funk Emperors and Kings for generations to come..C,R,E,A,M. Creative.Real, Everlasting. Artistic Music Always rises to the top. therefore, Always Wins!!
+2012banksnb Very true. I guess my point is he really practiced what he preached. He wasn't fake,he didn't do one thing and say another like a lot of other celebrities.
When Michael Jackson died I was devastated, not just because he was such a wonderful performer but because of the person he was. Then I thought well we still have Prince, who was equally a wonderful entertainer and talented also in so many ways. Then I saw interviews of Prince and loved him too because like Michael he seemed so concerned about humanity. So now to lose him too seems so sad, not for me but for the world as a whole. Watching his pure talent on this video saddens me even more as we will no longer be graced by his presence. Rest in Peace Prince! xo
+rumbapassion That is exactly how I feel. All the uploading of videos, Interviews and news is making me terribly upset each time. Just to be able to see everything..... The Impact is huge!!! He was the Music.. XO
+AQuilla Fearon Absolutely, such a great loss to see we have lost the two most greatest entertainers of our time, passing away so young. Prince was so funky and a sweetheart! xoxo
rumbapassion and most of all a humanitarian. The stories how he helped people without them knowing. He just couldn't stand by and see people struggling or suffering without doing something!! What a man, what a legend, what a genius we have lost. 💜

There has never been nor will there ever be again a more sexy man, nor one with as much talent. He was and is one of a kind and is supremely missed
The day he died the astrophysicists registered a massive loss of talent in the Universe.

I love what he said about being more responsible...precious man.
I'm so blessed to have seen him twice in concert
Only once unfortunately.
But the first of the last of his good series of shows.
I've got a ranking of good concerts and then there's that concert lonely at the Mount Everest of experiences.
He was on fire.
Student then Master. He is a great example for all.
"You're supposed to introduce yourself"- ever the pro.
@@KrissyI1973 to each his own. Live and let live.
Prince to interviewer - 'You're supposed to introduce yourself' Brilliant. Simply the greatest ever.
what a great man he was , musically, vocally and privately. Sad i never got so see him perform
I know right
saw him in paris 1999 bataclan astonishing
+Dirk Diggler atlanta 04/14/2016 1st show. incredible.
+ChiknThighTatorPie that's so cool I never seen him in concert that is a major regret you was lucky to c him at lease you got to see him before God call him home I can only dream of him RIP prince luv ya
Atlanta both shows are available on bootleg CDs if you want the souvenir :)
Prince looked gorgeous in anything he was dressed in, but when he wears Red, he looks fierce and gorgeous. He was so talented and loved bye all.
Prince Roger Nelson the greatest of all time.
R.I.P You will be missed, loved & forever remembered....
spot on
The best ever better than them all Hendrix Santana Clapton Perry Lyndsey BB Van Halen Richards he was all in one & that's only on guitar next we should talk about piano & then drums
Ashfaq Aslam
It is evident that you know nothing about music
Spot on brother
The humor helps people like us that come from dysfunctional families
get through life easier.
Prince the genius of music, showmanship, performance, movie, concert, inventor and beautiful soul inside and out, you will for damn sure be missed by millions.
soul hearted agreed 💯💔 l watch his videos every day and remember those times and where and what l was doing then. "Pure Greatness"!!❤️🎸🌹
"I'm Music" - yes Price was an omnipotent music. We did not respect him as much as we should while he was still alive. He was one of a kind.
Anna Warner I did.....
Speak for yourself. I'm from Minneapolis and he was the heart and soul of our city.

his sheepish smile when he says he wrote Cream looking in the mirror. Him turning the mic to the audience to sing. just everything about this
Sexy as hell
It's been three weeks and there's still not a single day that I don't indulge on Prince videos. See you in the next life, Prince.
+Phyllis Hall I hear ya. Doesn't it feels that he lives on? There is so much alertness and awareness in Prince's spirit that somehow he transcends his bodily's passing to remain with the world.
+Jarutat Snidwongse
You are so right
+Phyllis Hall The big factor is also the deprivation of Prince from the mainstream media of today, the internet, for decades. Today since he's not living, there is no longer the need for him to protect his work in order to make a living. Now it really is about sharing his art. This makes him so precious, like diamond that is hidden away in the mountains that only now we just start diggin. All this media is totally new stuffs to be aired online.
me too!
Jarutat Snidwongse i must have some Prince everday. serious jones.
He was so talented...sexy! He was the whole package. One of the greatest performers.
I miss prince so much I wish he was still here
I liked what he said about not playing his freakier songs live because of the responsibility of younger ears being about; he didn't think about it when he was younger.
ArcaneThingOfBeauty good to know...cause I sure would hate to know that my man gave all that up just because he was getting older and close to God!
angelina delila Teenagers are gonna be horny no matter who is or isn't singing about raunchy sex lol; maybe he feels that after 40 it looks ridiculous, too. I'm not sayin' he should've came out in zebra print panties like when he was 19, but maybe he thought he was too old to be gettin' wild on stage. He could still sing rawest classics, though.
Then again, he was a Jehovah's Witness during this interview. There is certain sexual laws that apply once you become a JW
Those few words don't even begin to describe the man, the legend that is PRINCE.
He is so smooth, it's ridiculous..
I can't. Nope.
Well put!!!
You are missed.
elchachasinda OMG...what u juss said was EVERYTHING!!!
D Patterson Thank you! People usually get pissed off by what I say lol. :D

I have always been a fan but I cannot believe that it took his death for me to see his true greatness. I think I will miss you everyday, forever!!!!
+S. Theriot I think same
me too!
You took the words out of my mouth I'm still so devastated tears never seem to stop rolling down from my eyes. Everything reminds me of him 😪💜☔️♐️🕊
S Theriot believe me you are not the only one to recognize his greatness after his death. Many people have been saying the same thing. It is sad that its only when someone dies we realise just what we have lost.
S. Theriot I think most of us feel that way. truly lost GREATNESS
Acoustic "CREAM" is the BEST I've ever heard! He was so amazing!
Timeless, magical, soulful, cool, suave, talented, extraordinarily mystical and influential.
Prince. Never knew how to read music either. Played all instruments by ear.
I love Prince so much.
I'm 8 years younger then Prince and I play guitar some ya know, but not in my wildest dreams could I make music even close to the way Prince could. He was without a doubt world class.
"you got the record patna" Love this man
Music IS a gift from God, Prince was sooo right. R. I. P.

I saw the musically tour, live had 2nd row seats....who knew it was a highlight moment of life?
Musicology
+Felicia Williams one of my absolute fave CD EVER
+Cheryl Mc Crickard I agree.. that song gets me every time ... and I always end up in tears.

Damn. What a talent. Still can't believe he's no more.
This is so good! I don't think I've ever heard him just sing by himself with no big show going on behind him. I guess having the band and dancers added to the showmanship factor he was known for, but this acoustic performance is more touching and beautiful.

I'm Crying....tears of Cosmic Joy... to Know the Love of Music via PRINCE
This brother!!!! WAS BAD!!!!! AWESOME! I mean daggg no words describe him!! PRINCE is music and MUSIC is Prince!! I could watch him ALL day!!!!
Prince was on a completely different level. Prince could play every single instrument that was put before him. He excelled at piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums. No one will EVER incorporate music like The Prince.
RIP, Dearest Purple Genius 😢 💜💜💜 👏
just prince and his guitar..a dream come true I'd probably freak out...I still can't believe he's gone..my love flies to you on angels wings..
April 21 was sooo bad. RIP Prince... His Royal Badness
Mad respect for him saying that he wouldn't play those songs anymore with 13y/o in the audience. He said he is older (and much wiser) so he looks at those songs in a different way now. Told him to play his records.
He's the most talented guitarist in the world.
+starlighter3 Very well stated.
+pogorosy brilliantly stated.
So very true!!!
very true, just like he wrote in Sometimes it Snows in April, Those kind of cars don't pass you every day
what cars?
we all are gifts from god but the only difference is Prince recognise his gifts and ran with it, he didn't care about people ridiculing him, or others perception of him all he cared about was his own inner vision, how many of us in this internet era succumb to others impression of us? just to fit in to the status quo.

What other musician really takes in to consideration the young fans in the crowd? None that I know of. This man was amazing.
I agree so charming just like a Prince . so sad:(
Yea but also he was a jehovah witness and a lot of stuff he couldn't say or do
+2012banksnb Very true. I guess my point is he really practiced what he preached. He wasn't fake,he didn't do one thing and say another like a lot of other celebrities.
Special, special person ........ irreplaceable indeed :((((( Hard to watch him knowing he is not here anymore:(((
When Michael Jackson died I was devastated, not just because he was such a wonderful performer but because of the person he was.
I think michael admired prince so much that he named his son 'prince' . I am a mj fan but i also love prince.
STILL CRYING :(
So long brother. God bless you and the gifts you left us. Love you Prince. Hope you and Michael are hanging out together.
