I had a quick question. Can I use the meter that you used to see if the outlet had power if there is no outlet and just touch it to the wires? Thank you in advance for answering.
Thank you Tyrone for making so easy to understand videos that does not leave out the importance of safety. I am so very grateful for you taking the time to make these teaching videos. It has been most helpful to me.
I'm appreciating your channel because you're such an inspirational teacher--even when you're digressing. I just finished classes/field work for my NY home inspection license (weekend work since I work at a university). I haven't worked in electrical, plumbing, etc. much at all so you've helped to demystify things by bridging gaps in my knowledge and refreshing me. I will check out your modules/tests, too. Many thanks and look forward to more videos (...before you're too famous for UA-cam!).
Awesome video Bro! I'm from DC and I could tell you were from the DMV just by the way you speak. Good to see a homie doing his thing! Trying to get my son to go in this direction because I noticed him taking a liking to assisting the Master Electricians while on our job sites, so this video was very helpful! Thx again..
Hey Tyrone I just came upon your video and wow! I liked what I saw and it very helpful for me...! I'm a little bit of a handy man around the house and Electrical is my weakest talent. And your video will help me get to know it... Thank you for your Videos
hey tyrone very well documented video i been in the trade ten years n u right over time u build ur tool arsenal the one tool i need is the wire cutter ratchet its makes things so much easier when u cutting three fifty n five hundred i use the cable cutters but sometimes they can be clumsy to use but keep doing what u do best
Excellent tool list. Sadly, people think that the electricians hammer doesn't exist. They splice wires with nuts without using linemans pliers. I do know that not all wires can be spliced by linemans pliers but you should use them with the bigger wires or maybe 14 and above gauge wires.
Tyrone Robertson What are the effects in the short or long term on my appliances, if I use a 15amp GFCI outlet on a 20amp breaker? After I install the two new 15amp GFCI outlets in my kitchen I notice the two old GFCI were label 20amp.
Felipe Cespedes Technically you should not put a device rated for 15 amps on a 20 amp circuit. If you exceed the amp rating on the device the 20 amp breaker won't trip like it should and can cause wires to over heat causing a fire hazard. 15 amps is rated to handel 1800 watts. your standard hair dryer is generally going to use 1500 watts. leaving only 300 watts to play with such isn't much. so if say you were using the hair dryer and something else at the same time it will cause an overload with no "over current protection" (meaning the breaker is not going to trip). Now, It is possible that the GFCI receptacle will trip. but it is not a guarantee. in short, I would just return the GFCI receptacles and purchase one's rated for 20 amps and sleep better lol. Take Care
you are permited to use 15a outlets on a 20a circuit as long as it is a duplex outlet. In bathrooms where you would normally use a hair dryer you are required to install a 20a gfci circuit. The i5 amp outlets are capable of handling the load on a 20a circuit
did you learn on your own or go to school i learnd on my own wiring in my parents celer with batterys starting around age 9 then a bell transformer the main thing i learnd in trade school was the 3 way switch

Yeah striping with your side cutters is a veterans tactic I would never suggest someone new to the trade use there side cutters to strip wire
