Thanks for the simple explanation, and not drowning us with a bunch of "pro lingo". Even when you do use professional terms, you break it down for us to understand. Your videos have been VERY informative! Subscribed!!
I found Tyrone's informal tutorials very helpful and informative. I've read and heard many times that you should always form a hook in a wire before wrapping it around the terminals of a device. Tyrone is the first person to actually show how to do that. Good stuff.
i appreciate ur vids. ty in the near future im planning on running electric to my shed from my main panel. do i ned a sub panel inside my shed or just put a new breaker in my main? i wish u wod do a complete vid on that. im planning on using a 110 welder in shed. im not sure wat amperage it is. its more like a work shop than a shed. just dont tell my wife. lol thank you
Hello Tyrone, I'm planning on Installing a light out on my back yard and get my feed from a single pole 15amp switch for the garbage disposal, I'm switching to a decora double switch, one for the light and the other for the disposal, the single pole is wired with 14-3,,can I use 14-2 for the decora or stay with 14-3..is it safe?..thanks
Tyrone if i want to make a couple extra outlets from a pre-existing outlet, what gauge wire should i use? can i go from 12 gauge to 14 gauge? is there any potential harm if i do?
+Frapo Chino I have a video about wire sizes on my channel but yes if your wire is not correctly sized it could cause harm. You size your wire with your breaker size, if the outlet in question is on a 15 amp breaker then the 14 awg is what you want you could put a larger gauge wire but that would be a waste of money. If the breaker size 20 amp then 12 awg is what you would want you CAN NOT use a smaller gauge wire like 14 awg but you could use a larger gauge wire again like i said earlier a waste of money. Hope this help but you should look at all the videos on the channel.
so bro its me again i am interested in becoming an electrician , so i was wondering if the curriculum you have set up on your website is enough to get me to pass the electrician exam or i need to take some classes from say an institution. Thanks in advance call me EJ.
The easiest route to becoming an electrician and also the best option IMO is the apprenticeship, in particular the union apprenticeship (The IBEW) below is a link for more info. good luck this is a very rewarding trade. www.ibew.org/
hey Mr. Tyrone: quick question, I have 14/2 wiring throughout my house, and I happen to be replacing the service panel, What are the proper breakers that I should use? Can I use 15 amp or 20 amps breakers for regular room outlets and switch, (110 volt items ) Can this 14/2 cable handle a 20 amp breaker? by using a 20 amp breaker, I would say it would eliminate the possibility of the breaker tripping. Thanks Lupe
Hey Carlos, No you can not use any size breaker. for 14awg (your 14/2) you will need to install a 15amp breaker. Installing a larger breaker could damage the wiring or at worst cause a fire.
help please ... I have a 1 3way switch and a 2 way switch in a double light switch ... also connected to it is 2 separate electric cables. there are 2 things ( a portch light and a sensor flood light) on the 3 way and 2 switches controlling one light from opposite sides of the room.. I currently have five cables running into the double switch box and wanted to connect a Grey power supply cord to my out door speakers I have gotten so confused and currently have all of the cables disconnected and separated from the actual three way and two way switch in the double switch box I don't know how to connect them back again I can find the con wire for each switch also the ground wire but don't know what to do with the rest of the wires to make hooking up the centered fog emergency lights and speakers work please help me sincerely frustrated from Maryland
nickole there is no such thing as a 2way switch further more it is almost impossible to tell you how to reconnect all of your wires without actually being there and testing or at the very least having a picture and a way to communicate to tell you what to test for.
