    Another great video mate. Nice job, shame about the step up lol. I fitted sliding patio doors to my house but I ended up with the sliding door on the outside! So the bottom runner gets full of leaves and crap. The door is fine. You live and learn. I love work.........I could watch it for hours. Keep up the good work. All the best ;)

    Lovely job mate. I like your silicon technique not going over with finger to smooth it out, looks tight bead too.

    Good work - that key is rather close to the wall. Are they always that near so you only just have room to turn the key or can you get other designs that leave more hand room? I realise the customer was the one who chose that item to fit in place of their old patio doors. You and your work mate did a great job. Thanks for posting on here. :-)

    What size/length of the concrete screw do you usually use when fitting french/sliding doors?

    Great stuff, do you think this could be done by a competent diy'er or worth calling the pros in?

    • @Stucrompton1
      @Stucrompton1  7 років тому +1

      As a DIY-er and householder, I would not attempt it on my own. In fact, I would prefer to get experts in to do this for me and pay them because they are insured and have better expertise.

    How was the trim adhered to the sliding door? Was it glued or nailed?

    Cracking job as always Stu.......although why would anyone go from French doors to sliding? IMO a new set of French doors which spanned the complete width would of been better for usability. 👍🏼

    • @taffgriff69
      @taffgriff69 5 років тому +2

      Because French doors are shit! If you have kids you will know this to be true! A slider is a better option if u have crazy kids like I do!

    Why didn't you put a tray under the door?

    • @Stucrompton1
      @Stucrompton1  7 років тому +1

      i dont know what u mean, its a pvc cill under the door

    • @rjames6056
      @rjames6056 7 років тому +1

      A DPC tray under and then upstanding on the inside? A waterproofing system. 👍🏻

    • @Stucrompton1
      @Stucrompton1  7 років тому +1

      the cill is the waterproofing system, its plastic

      I bought a patio door for £530. Going to have a go at it myself. Prob be £250 to fit here in Northern Ireland. I got a quote from a glazing company for £1300. They were taking out a window and they would have to cut out opening etc. I’m not a builder. Just a DIYer. Hope this helps.
