Part of me was in horror as we sang Adon Olam while giving the obvious nod to the Idolatry of the Christian New Year, (although Robert Burns had no such notion of his poem being the traditional song sung for such commemoration,) while another part thought it amusing that the tune actually worked.

This song is typically sung at the conclusion of Shabbat morning religious services, at least in many Conservative congregations, but it exists in several different melodic settings. The most unusual, and one of the most delightful, rendition has it sung to the tune of the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine"!
@cantortany : Our Cantor was an opera singer from Russia as well. Maybe Hashem blessed them with voices because of the area and the situation. It's the same with the remote area where I'm from ~ everybody sings and plays almost any musical instruments their hands fall upon ~ all by ear. B'H forever.
The fabulous voices are coming from outside the US because most of my fellow Americans only care about sports and rock music, and don't give a hoot about vocal quality or good music... There *are* some fine singers who love good music, but it's hard to fnd an audience for them.
I know of three tunes for Adon Olam. I always knew this one was Slavic in origin, either from Hungary or Ukraine. There's another melancholy one that's kind of like a chant, and it's probably from Hungary. A third, more upbeat one, comes from a German beer hall song.
Nice but it would have been nicer yet for them to learn the rest of the verses of this prayer - there are quite a few more... As far "why there is no beautiful music and/or singers coming from the US" - try Zamir Chorale: beautiful music, beautiful voices united in Hebrew songs both religious and secular. They are from Boston. Unique as they are, they are definitely NOT the only singing group of this kind. Look beyond Brighton Beach - you'll find plenty of beautiful voices.
Not all jewish are wearing Kipot you know as a metter of fact most of jewish in Israel are not using kippot at all and of course this guys are jewish ! But they are russian jewish like myself im from Russia but im live in israel and im jewish!
Please listen they're saying the name of YHVH! backwards! That's a curse blasphemous! Don't sing this song otherwise you'd be cursing YAH! Blessed be YHVH, YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH AND THE PRECIOUS RUACH HA KODESH for knowledge, understanding, wisdom, teaching, leading and guiding me to truth! Please don't listen especially don't be singing this song!
