- In today's video we are going for it... We have a weather window... A very small one but its there. We mow a few bits at home but then decide to mow our neighbour bit. They have lots of grass which is making the standing water a nightmare to spot!!
Hope you enjoy!

Tom, Please Please protect your hearing. You will regret it if you don't. My Dad was like you and for most of his life he ended up with very little hearing. Just think of the family you are starting
We all have hearing loss. My brother practiced with his band in Our basement
Bluetooth ear defenders are a must. Hearing protection and you can listen to podcasts while working.
@matthewwillson6515 bad idea, how are you supposed to listen to machine working ear defence yes ear pods listening to music is a recipe for very expensive mistakes on machines I'd ban that
It's not as loud in person.
@chriss7930 they come with volume buttons. Plus, use a bit of common sense where you use them. Sat in a tractor just fine, busy construction site maybe not. But common sense isn't so common anymore.
Being a bog farmer and contractor from Ireland, I can confirm that field is wetter than most bogs over here😂😂😂😂
Towards the future! You’re amazing and the work you do to be eco friendly, and to be kind to your animals is inspirational! Keep up the amazing work and I hope everything with the little’n is going smoothly
"Nothing stops a mower faster than water" *stray manhole enters the conversation*
Well played! Thank the lord we didn’t find any of them.
I was getting to the end of my teather 🙈
Love you soooooo much. Thnks for the fun and enjoyable videos you post.
Thanks for watching ☺️

Thanks 👌 you tom
Love the drone shots of mowing. That glimpse of the clamp at the end was some beautiful stuff!!!
Thanks you tom😊
Good video lot's of mowing that was a big job done. It has been a wet year!
ANOTHER VERY INTERESTING VIDEO THANK YOU 😊😊😊😊
Great video as always Tom
Excellent job my brother 💙👍🏻
Loved the drone footage
Love riding along with you. Enjoy your time off. We will all be waiting for you when you return . ❤️✌️
Thank you for watching ☺️
“And here it’s nice and dry” Very optimistic Tom 😂
Tom hope the ground dry up before you start copping great drone footage good crop of grass 👍👍👍
Thank you tom
Hi Tom, that's amazing the amount of water laying in the paddocks. Maybe should have waited another week but any free hay can't be sneezed at. It's good you still listen to your dads opinion (to a point) and go with his experience and knowledge. The farm consumes alot of your time, especially with all the work with the new parlour build, so I hope you have a good break away this weekend spending quality time with your wife. Great video again. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.
15:13 Mowing well, omg your faces through this field. 😂😂 haven’t seen this much variety in a video in a while, much less the same task
You done it Tom despite the water 👌👌👌👌🚜🚜🚜🚜
🎉🎉❤❤ love your work and keep up the good work ❤
Good video Tom
Hi Tom love the vids mate I whatch every video
Thanks James ☺️
I feel your pain on the wet weather/ ground we haven’t had a fine week since December 😢😢 south of Auckland NZ
We are on the Hauraki Plains and agree. The weather has been hideous
We love the orange Ball 😂😂😂😂
Mowing and weather sometimes is good sometimes not. The farmers always have to work around the weather. Have a great holiday and relax
Plan the toilets for Jo when out. I know from 5 months with myself I needed the loos every 30 mins when pregnant.
Farmer thinking, the world is your toilet, especially the great outdoors
@@eddiewatts7792.... until you fall over and can't get up.

You ring them every day And you keep ringing till they get pissed off and then like magic it gets sorted.
Nice video from Sweden 🇸🇪
Thanks! 😃
Good video!
Great video Tom dad said mow it so you just do as you’re told 🤷♂️ keep up with the great video 👏👏👍👍
tom needs to use his common sense and he should know better by his age that was not the right thing to be doing .......it might have made a good youtube video but mowing in those conditions is not good farming practice
Hi Tom please reuse your water bottles. Fill them up, when empty, fill up again, put it in the fridge and rotate 3 or 4 bottles like that. You'll save lots of money and save the planet. Great video. Give my love to Jo 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great way to keep the germs alive. Plastic bottles are not made for reuse, and not safe to do so with. One time sure but not continually reuse. Better to buy bottles meant for reuse then.
Stop flying for holidays far more enviromently friendly 😂
Actually the water Evian bottle Tom is drinking from is reusable
@@teresabrewer2661 R-PET is to be recycled not reused. Unless it's some special bottles he has it's recyclable PET from what Evian's website says. All soda bottles (which aren't glass), and close to all water bottles have been R-PET here in Denamrk for 20 years. And people in the health sector has been advising against reusing them all the time, due to bacteria and breaking down the plastic uf you clean it with cleaning agents. If he is in fact using some different bottles I apologise for my rant. Either way hope you don't take it as me.trying to be a know it all, wasn't meant that way. Hope you have a nice weekend.
Afternoon Tom
Hello my friend, your video is very good, wish you good health and happiness❤❤❤
Hi tom so so wet aye hope it drys soon 😢
That last field is a really nice one. Wet conditions are a huge drag. Pun intended 😂😂😂
You need a Cocker Spaniel to keep you company whilst out and about 🤔👍
I feel your pain with that wet muddy field, my sister's ain't much better. Though, I mow that with a push mower and tall wellies.
It was quite a nice field. Till she got herself some horses. Then we found all the wet spots, and the stream that runs through it during heavy rains.
Even if you buy him out, I reckon the ginger would still be the boss.😜😂
I have never used hearing protection in over 25 years of operating various equipment and still have great hearing when I decide to actually listen lol
When are we getting an update on the milk parlour?
Next week?? Load and loads has happened!
@@TomPembertonFarmLife Thank you, I’ve been waiting a while. Enjoy your trip.
Thanks quoo tom
You should branch out into seaweed harvesting , no retooling required Tom 🥴🍻
Don’t think it’s a good idea going off on a holiday when it’s the busy time on the farm

Pushed it back 2 times already. They thing you don’t see it who do you think covers all the hoildays? Who’s the first one in, last out. Then goes home eats, showers then edits till late.
Yes this time has come at the wrong time but literally everything has been organized before I went away + if I didn’t get away now I never would do 🤷♂️
Nice bud Tom amazing this weak I am thinking of buying more merch from ya
Great vid.
I bet all Tom's mates know not to talk to Tom about mowers after he's a had a couple of pints.😂 He's liable to get emotional.
I always say this but keep up the good work and always another brilliant video
Thanks mate ☺️

Hope you and your wonderful wife enjoyed the time away together on vacation at the lake I think that’s where you were going. That was a lot of water to mow through I was crying laughing watching you get frustrated I’m sorry. Be well be you
Thankyou ☺️
Was something different at the start 🙈
I remember towers! What a boy
Butterfly mowing is awesome 🎉
Tom, it was like you were mowing a pond. 😊
🤦♂️😂
That mower sounds so angry 😂
As you were mowing, rodents were jumping out of the hay behind you
and scurrying across the field into the tall hay. Raptors were in the air
circling with the intent of diving upon the little guys & having them for
lunch. There was quite a bit going on behind you.
!
What you need to do during the winter in go into the feilds and grade them so the water will drain better so you won't have all those wet spots
Make sure the main drain is down 🤦♂️
Even though it was a rough cutting experience it looks like ur gonna have plenty of grass to fill ur clamp up im sure u dont have to worrry about being short of grass with how thick it looks hopefully
Tom, u said u had to keep pushing the muck back up because of the rain. Could/do u put it thru the separater again?
Wow, I am going to get the 3000 and park in the drive, what a sales pitch. (I havn't got any grass.)
I love it 😂
It must be pretty scary when the mower grounds out.
Video to your usual standard Tom. Glad you kept your eye out for manhole covers, next time pt more air in the tyres then will float across the water. Have been watching your fun and mistakes for about three years still can't get enough, keep up all the good work .
This will sound a little counterintuitive but you need less air in your tires for more floatation. This is because the sagging of the tires gives you more contact area from the tire to the ground thus more floatation. The more you know😊 we run our tires for this reason a little lower on pressure we have relatively wet ground😅
Thanks John ☺️
Drone shots like a pro
O think you love your mower as you said it a few times lol
I was wondering if we're cutting whole-crop rice in a Paddy field.😅😅😂😊
A wet’n, but a good’n. Those Malone’s sure cut well.
There’s never enough time to do all the jobs you want to get done on the farm
🎉 Love the farmng segments😊 of your channel!
of your channel!
Running to head, means more protein in the sward - there is quite a bit of poor-quality protein in grass seeds.
Maybe stock hates how the texture changes.
How does this figure with hay/silage.
If it's so wet in places now, what's it going to be like when it gets bailed if there's more rain forecasted 😮
Did you ever fix that corner of the muck pit ... where you cracked the cement?
Yeah, filled it with a shed load of concrete
When you lift up the mower at the end of each row you need to lift up the main hydraulics as it is still dragging on the ground
There's loads of hare's on Ted Walton's farm, not many rabbits but loads of hare's & we dnt shoot them coz it's nice to have them around 😊
Yeah we like them as well ☺️
Yes protect your heating and when you started hitting water like that you should have gotten out and walk it a little so you can find where to stop mowing to stay or of the bog
I know you were in a hurry
You need to carry a pair of flippers and a snorkel in your tractor. 🤣😂
Thanks for the fun video.
Two things. 1. You could give the cows swimming lessons.😉
2. What didn't you show us while mowing that wet area? 😉You went from dirty brown hands to somewhat cleaner green ones to brown again.😂
😂
25:37 great content again
Can't really compare the JF 245 with these as it's 30 years old and the old 3 drums mower. Had one for years and it done ok as long as you gave it time of you would fry the slip clutch. Water soon slows up any mower.....
Just curious if you ever thought of trying some 0 grazing and what do you think of it and what's your thoughts and would it work in your area and do you have the equipment to handle it just curious
Don’t have the tractor power and the zero grazer would be 30k 🙈
I agree about the hearing protectors. You don’t realize how these noises affect your hearing until it’s to late. You might also want to start wearing a hard hat also. The way you were bouncing I thought you might hit your head on the roof.😂
Who are you ? The elf an safety executive 😂
Don’t forget gloves and a high viz, remember safety never has a day off 😂
Loving the videos Tom. Quick question, when when mowing why do you do the headland then go in the middle of the field rather than going round in circles? Keep up the great work mate
I've wondered about that too.
Dad likes me to go round7 times becasue the Tedder does 3 rows at a time and he’s like to go round twice leavening the outer one.
The corners become tight if you keep going round and round
@@TomPembertonFarmLife Can't be any tighter than a 180 at the end of every row but you, your father and his father have been doing it long enough that I trust you to keep doing it unsupervised 😂😅
@@TomPembertonFarmLife ah right that makes sense thanks for the reply Tom
Every tedder man rake man and baler man hates people that mow round the field into the middle.... machinery is meant to follow rows of grass preferably in straight lines. Corners are a pain in the butt.
0:48 it’s exciting, it’s thrilling, ITS NOT RAINING. 😂😂😂 But boy is it wet, didn’t even need the intro to see how bad… 😅
Do you guys tile over. There to help drain water from a field.😊
Do all of it. Just can’t get away 🤦♂️
What ever happened to those strips that you threw down those soil organism bags? I might’ve missed the update, but was curious on the result.
Video to come soon!
Aaah sound I asked that question a few weeks ago seems we'll find out soon enough
You needed a hovercraft on that field mate.
Bob = big orange ball 😂
Environment agency are probably still working from home !!
😂
Tom is there any chance you could wear a Mic in the Tractor, I can’t hear a word over the noise?
Tom how did the Super Soil work out?
Video to come soon ☺️
Get a Vicon mower, mines 14 years old, still on original blades
Must’ve done very little
Another banger! Can you explain why you don’t use pull behind mowers with wheels? That’s what I’m used to seeing but I’m on a different continent.
Cost tbh. A trailed one is more expensive 🙈
@@TomPembertonFarmLifeit's also more diffecult to go round for example a fence and even more thing,s that can break
Hi🎉😊
When are you getting a bigger tractor
Good question! Won’t be this year… finishers crossed when I have sorted parlour out etc etc
You need a fasttrack with a 9m mower ….😉 for the wife. Off course 😊
💯💯💯💯

Oh that’s not as exciting as I thought it could be 🙈
do not forget about the man holes tom
How much of a difference to the grass did you see on the areas you sprayed with supersoil?
Yes I was wondering the same?
Video to come soon!
Did you mark those manholes yet Tom???
If only you could figure out a way of marketing the mud somehow. Maybe... Pemberton's Amazing Rejuvenating Miracle Mud?
Tom are you allowed to tile the fields?? That will get rid of the massive standing water.
Would drain if the ditch was down 🤦♂️
‘I feel like an Irishman going through a bog’. Tut, tut Tom.
You have to make hay while the sun shines...oh wait, that's the title of a book?
