I almost cried when I watch this championship as I heard the Okinawa is birth place of Karate, they are all from Okinawa. Actually, they are participated as represent of Japan but I could feel "Okinawan pride" more than Japanese. So impressive.
This trio is the best, they are trained by Tsuguo Sakumoto Sensei Chief of Okinawa Ryuei Ryu and they are Okinawans, you can see that from how they move and their kime. Impressive.
I was impressed at the kata. When they moved into the bunkai I was blown away. That is AMAZING to see. If I get to be half as good as these guys, no, a quarter then I would be very happy.
well yes, it was impressive, but come on. all the throws are staged like they are applying for professional wrestling. You will never see how deadly karate looks like in a championship, because the true intention of karate is not to show off for a higher score.
The Kiai of the men and their harmony among them gives me strength and peace. Their use of body alignment and depth of stance are excellent! The use of Kobo Ichi is good. There are women who demonstrate this most excellently as well. They too were Japanese. There intensity is rich as is their dedication. Their are tears in my eyes of joy. The distasteful fool speaks against tears. Karate exists because there is violence in the world not to be confused with defense. When you reach the point where you stop mourning the existence of violence in the world you are a murderer and worthy of the needle of the executioner, if I may wax philosophical. I am proud of these young men ! So very proud !

I've been watching these WKF videos for like 2 hrs now, and its an inspiration, just awesome. I study doce pares Escrima now and I love it, but I still wish I could have done Karate.

Anan is a hard kata to perform exact coordination between the three, but the Bunkai was perfectly done, and very high standard, such focus and difficult technics

Karate as a sport doesn't work outside of the dojo. Then again, it is still a martial art, which leads to the effective part. I believe it works because I know many people that have had actual experiences of having to use it on necessary occasions. Don't tell me that's a lie after nearly being killed. Another proof is that it exists. Don't tell me people during ancient times in Okinawa created it for the sake of entertainment. It was for self defense.
