Sandra Sánchez, the best Female Kata performer of All Time acording to the WKF official ranking (30253 pt), is in the 8th place, below two other women that never surpassed her and, at this point, never will (Shimizu is 2nd with 23108 pt and Usami, who you put in 4th place, is the 17th with 5364 pt). Ok.
It's crazy to place Luca Valdesi in the seventh potion (11 world championships and 22 European championships), he alone has more world championships than the first three combined.
Sorry, im not an "Luca Valdesi expert", I really don't know about this 11 world championships, but in WKF, he has 3 world champion titles (or 4, I don't remember well). He is also known by cutting some movements to seems faster than he really is (I also don't practice Shotokan, thats what some people who practice told me), probably that didn't let him go to a top position, even thought 7th is a really great position. Also, the top 1 Ryo Kiyuna was 4 times consecutive world champion, with only 1 loss in 8 years.
Spain has a very fine tradition in Judo and Karate. Its a long Story which began in the Franco time. Also while in Germany children are not allowed to do Karate, in Spain is since 4 years allowed.
Watch Yahara execute unsu and tell me who is the most real , the most deadly and the most scary . These people are excellent athletes no doubt , but all the scowling and kiai in the world doesn’t convince anyone about the level of intent in the execution of a kata . Sorry not a huge fan but I appreciate the efforts and aesthetics shown . 🥋

Really feel Milton and Usami should have come higher, but my favourite Kata Karateka is Mina Yamasaki, who is an all-round competitor and also an expert in the self-defence side of Karate/Martial Arts.

Milon had the most explosivity. His moves and his kime are still unrivalized IMO. Kyuna has the closest level from him, he just lack a bit more speed, difficile to compare from different kata style by the way.
Yes it is an art as in Martial art not a game where you fake a falls to get points it is a way of life.. a quest to surpasse yourself ..and better your nature..so definitely not game with players...
