That ending of the series Newhart going back to the Bob Newhart show and his line "You should wear more sweaters." was my all time favorite ending of a sit-com. This apartment/office tour was a lot of fun! Thanks for all that hard work..
Glad you liked it.
Agree! And Marina flipping it and adding the set from Newhart as a surprise for us was such a delight! Well done. :)
@@mapleleaf0 Once i got that idea, I couldn't wait to do it.
The brilliant TV writer/producer Dan O'Shannon came up with that Newhart ending. Best series finale of all time, I think.
I also remember: "Bob! Why does it always have to be a blonde?"
I really enjoy your tours! It's like visiting an old friend's home from my childhood. Thanks for doing this, Marina!
Oooo, I like that - "like visiting an old friend." 😍

@@portiamatthews9654 I've had a lot of requests for Gilligan's Island. I'll be doing it someday. 🌴
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane great looking forward to it. Again thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to your channel.
I love the way that you included the Newhart finale. I remember being blown away by that. I felt at the time that I had never before seen anything so spectacular.
It was phenomenal!
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane It sure was‼️
What a great moment it was. Just superb 👌 👏 👍

best finale ever.
I live just down the street from the apartment exterior building. Always think one day I am going to see Bob coming in or out

Marcia Wallace was a wonderful person. I was privileged to have been her friend for several decades before her death. If I could I would post some photos here. Great video, thank you.
Oh, that's wonderful. And it's so nice to hear that she was a wonderful person in real life. I can't picture her being mean. 😊
I really liked her when I was a kid. She was just my kind of people. Would've loved to be her friend.
I watch this show week nights in bed, Nashville, Tn and it goes off at midnight and then turn out the light to sleep..Brings back so many memories of my life when raising my boys in Indiana..wish could relive these days..
I love when a show can do that. 😍
I love this show. Loved Bob Newhart and Suzanne. Bob Newhart is a very generous person who has helped many people as was Suzanne. The entire ensemble was a class act. Loved Emily’s clothes. Thank you so much for this video. You are so talented!!!
Thank you. Glad you liked it. 😊
The design definitely reinforced the sense of comfort in the show. And shows can give us that comfort too. Cheers awesome
Another winner Marina! You are correct when you say these shows were like comfort food. Back in those days, the networks were king. I watched every season of The Bob Newhart show and Newhart, shrieking with laughter at the reveal in the finale. I knew that bedspread. My stepdad even bought a visor to wear when he was paying bills! What a great job you did with this video. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us.
Thanks. I love that your dad had a bill paying visor. Haha
I once heard that all the bedding on the show was designed by Suzanne Pleshette. Don't know if that's true or not.
I loved that first episode where I think Howard asks him what he’s wearing and he says, “my bill-paying clothes.”
@@EAS76 🤣 Such a Bob thing.
The library wall was my favorite thing about the apartment. Bob's phone calls were hilarious. Thanks for the tour.
His phone calls always crack me up. His delivery is impeccable.
I love watching The Bob Newhart show because it reminds me of my childhood - the design, the furnishings, the fashions, the technology, it all takes me back to a more innocent and happy time in my life. Especially in the episodes where Howard's son Howie shows up - he and I and about the same age and I can very much relate to his experiences on the show
I have made many other homes too. Maybe some of those will bring back memories too. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ua-cam.com/users/MarinaCoavideos?view_as=subscriber
As a young child, I group-up watching the The Bob Newhart Show. Like you mentioned, it became an extension of our comfort zone, where we identified with the creature comforts of Bob & Emily's world. From the decor & colors, to their daily routines, we lived through their experiences & perspective. I've worked for the phone company for over 21-years, and would have loved to work buildings like that of Bob's Apartment & Office. The phones with lights, bells, & buzzers - getting to meet the people, in the timeframe of the mid to late 1970's. Your tour gives closure to a part of my youth & memories of Bob & Emily. In a word.... Thanks! :)
Ah, I loved this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 😊

I had the identical wallpaper in my kitchen and laundry room. It was handprinted in France and at the time I was madly in love with it! My Mom would get all excited when she saw it!
Oh wow! So, the set designer used hand painted French wallpaper. Interesting.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Yes, it had various thicknesses because of the ink. We all watched the show just so we could see the wallpaper!

More memories. I loved Saturday nights when you started off with "All in the Family" at 8:00, another show that changed around a bit at 8:30, (I mostly remember "Bridget Loves Bernie" and one about a country doctor) "Mary Tyler Moore" at 9:00 and "Bob Newhart" at 9:30. Saturdays was the best TV night. I loved how Bob could say something funny with a straight face and rather bland voice but it would be hilarious. Later on I knew a man who had the same kind of demeanor. He reminded me of Bob with his deadpan humor. Now I want to see all of the Bob Newhart show again.
It was a great lineup!
Love the photo in the reception area that mimics the shot of Chicago from the opening credits. Perfect touch, as is Bob's phone call! I truly appreciate all your hard work and research!
Thanks! I'm glad you noticed the shots from the opening. I have fun adding things like that for fans of the shows.
Yes, I enjoyed that photo and all the Chicago scenes out the windows.
I know! Your fun little touches are the best part!
@@EAS76 Thanks. Good to know others notice. 😊
Marina, I just love watching your TV shows from the 60s- 70's home tours. You are soo sweet. I grew up watching all the late 60's and all of the 70's family comedy tv shows . They were all just wondefull. We will never have shows like them ever again. Me and my mom would laugh and cry thru all of them. Bob and Emily and Carol were wonderful.
I loved this show even as a young kid. It has universal appeal, even age-wise.
Loved the finale of Newhart when he woke up with Emily. What a great twist.
Your videos are great and bring back so many fond memories.
Thank you! I remember the night the finale aired. It was amazing to say the least.
Another fantastic video. Carol must have had some pull with the architect, since it would have made much more sense for her desk to be facing the elevators, so she could see who got off. [another TV need, as they wanted her facing the camera].
Yes, I've always thought about that as well. The positioning of her horseshoe desk with its back to the elevators made for good TV, but would have been a horrible orientation in the real world. Same with the Brady Bunch kitchen--poor Alice must have clocked an extra 10,000 steps a day prepping each meal. That backwards el kitchen design made for great filming, but would have been awful in the real world.
Haha. Yes. She must have been friends with the architect.
Good point about the Brady Bunch kitchen!
I am glad I am not the only one who thought it was an unusual choice. Good point, Ivan.
As a temp receptionist, I have encountered several real-life awkward desk placements in relation to visitors!
The Bob Newhart Show is probably my favorite sit com of the 70's.
It was a fabulous show!

Bob Newhart and Suzanne Pleshette were such a perfect on-screen couple. Have you seen the interview where Suzanne Pleshette talks about the final scene from NEWHART? She went to great efforts not to be seen by the cast and crew, and she didn't go to the series After-Party. Why? Because she didn't want to steal attention away from Mary Fran. Pleshette was a class act.
Yes! I saw that interview. I also liked when she talked about how they couldn't rehearse, since they had to keep it a secret. They only had one chance to get the audience's genuine response. Nerve wracking. But she also mentioned that she just hoped the light switch by the headboard was in the same place as on the old show. 😊
I was a fan of Mary's since she did an episode of the Rockford Files. Sad she passed away too soon. She was a fine actress and a very pretty lady.
I’d love to see The Golden Girls. I know it’s an architectural nightmare but if anyone can do it, you could. I always thought the lanai would be in the side/backyard off of an office or a formal dining room we never get to see…since when looking at the front of the house in set up scene, there’s clearly a room there.
In the pilot, Blanche’s bedroom appears to be there. However, in every episode after, it was at the end of the hall. Walking down the hall, I think a bathroom and then Rose’s room both on the left. Sophia’s room and Dorothy’s room would be on the right. I base that on how the rooms are entered during a scene. You could do it!
When the girls come into the kitchen thru the little room, I think that’s the laundry. Since they often leave the house this way; that means a concrete walk crosses underneath the kitchen window, turns right and goes along the refrigerator wall, along the side of the garage and out to the driveway. So the fourth wall of the kitchen would be the garage wall with a door that they mysteriously never use. I’ve spent hours thinking about all this! Feel free to use.
So detailed and creative as always! Before I started working full time in the Industry as a Sound Mixer one of my Day Jobs for survival was in Sales. I was working at Beverly Hills Luggage close to Christmas one day, talking to my then Client Tim Conway when I heard this deep gravely female voice just behind me! I turned around to find Suzanne Pleshette almost back to back with me! I was in TV Heaven at that point talking to Tim and his wife with Suzanne Pleshette right next to me.. I remember watching these shows so well as a kid and just longing to work in Hollywood! Thank you, Marina..
What a fun story!
I take care of an elderly lady. We've been watching The Bob Newhart Show every night. This video was such a treat to have show up as a suggestion. I'll be showing it to her tonight. Thank you!

Very nice job! I was always a little confused about how that den was situated compared to the main spaces. Also, good work recreating the unique bedroom furniture. And I got a kick out of the 4th wall revealing the Newhart set. :)
Glad you liked it.
This video was absolutely amazing! Talk about a walk down memory lane. Thanks for bringing back so many good memories of a show I loved so much (and continue to love).
Thank you!
This is the one I have been waiting for. This set fired my imagination as a kid, still does. I wanted to live in this apartment, in the city etc. your attention to detail is amazing. Excellent video as always.
Glad you finally got your wish to see it. I liked to picture living here when I was young too. Such a "grown up" apartment in a big city. 😊
I remember watching this show with my girlfriend and we loved Bob and Emily's bed sheets and pillowcases. We always agreed that we would have similar ones when we got married...but she married someone else. I wonder if she had the bed things that we had planned on. Thanks for the memories, even if they are bittersweet :(
Sorry about that, but glad you liked the tour.
Flashback - my parents' sleeper sofa was made of the same material as the one in Bob's den! The only difference was theirs had three back cushions instead of one solid one. That takes me back. ETA: Both of Bob's shows were a favorite at our house and like everyone else, we loved the ending of the second show throwing back to the first one - it was too funny!
I love that in tv/movie land all our houses/apts would have weird pentagonal/hexagonal rooms! Lol
It’s also funny that half the stuff on these sets is back in style! I always loved this show’s sets.
You add such lovely small touches like finding the lettering for signs or adding in items from episodes that really make these places feel real. They are very appreciated! I watched a bunch of these on my tv and finally got on here to comment!
I had soooo much fun doing these tours!

Thank you! Just this week I considered asking you to do this show and today I see you have. I'm so excited! My first apartment had the same wallpaper in the kitchen that their kitchen had. We were great fans of The Bob Newhart Show, watching the new episodes every week and watching the reruns every week night at 10. I got my hair cut like Emily's when she cut hers short and I emulated her fashion sense a little too. So, thanks a bunch! I love this.

It's the small touches that seal the deal. I like how Bob Newhart's album is playing on Bob Hartley's record player.
Glad you noticed. 😊
Very cool! I love the Bob Newhart Show..
It was such a good representation of the 70's earth tone style. All the bookshelves, grouped pictures, and hanging ferns and spider plants are so 70's sitcom apartment.
Interesting that the same designer did the MTM apartment, and Newhart.
The walls are noticeably stagey on this one. They're pretty wonky. It does make the sets feel bigger, and freer though. It works to bring you in.
Thanks for the fun. 😄
Glad you liked it. Once the viewer mentioned where the walls pivoted, I couldn't unsee the creases in the walls. 😊
Yes, you start to notice them in all the sitcoms that are multicamera.
I'm binge watching Bob Newhart show now.
@@betsyross1621 Enjoy!
I always loved that apartment, but glad I’m not the one who had to carry that furniture back to the den.
Haha. So true.
Haha…loved Bob’s phone call!
Have you ever thought of doing the Dunphy residence from Modern Family? The set house always had that interesting weird side hallway behind the living room, and it had interesting features like a deck on the second level. I’d love to see a full layout. Yours are by far the nicest and highest quality I’ve seen!
Thanks. Im considering doing that home. I've had quite a few requests.

@@alisontopalian8592 I know, right! So many interesting houses.
When I was in college my freshman year my psychology professor candidly admitted that his wardrobe was based on Bob Hartley! I thought that was wonderful and odd at the same time, kind of like the show itself. Thanks for the incredible work you did on this video. All these videos are a joy to watch!
That's funny. But I guess his style fits a professor.
You perfectly expressed why these homes create such a feeling of comfort. We "visited" them on a regular basis at a time when our lives felt safe. I remember how I felt as a kid watching these shows. I'd sit on the floor at the end of my parents' bed with whichever toys I'd gathered to "watch" with me. I could smell the meal my mother was cooking, hear her talking to my father as he shook out the newspaper and turned on the news in the kitchen. It was all very simple, and damn near perfect.
Wow. You painted a great picture. I can see it all in my mind. 😊

Nice writing.
This is great. Even as a kid, I thought the layout of the Hartley apartment was weird, and thought "Well no wonder those shutters above their bed are closed -- the window opens up to the elevator lobby!" And the sunken living room would be... unusual... for a high-rise. But it's a wonderful visualization; well done.
That's interesting that even as a child you figured that out. 😊
I have yet to do a tv home that made sense, but the apartments usually have the most impossible layouts. The Jeffersons and Family Affair both had bedrooms and windows where they couldn't actually exist. But, it makes for beautiful homes on the screen.

Glad you got your wish. Up next: The Ponderosa from Bonanza. I haven't done a log cabin yet. Can't wait.
My Favorite Den was on The Brady Bunch. So much History in there. Mike going over the Bills, Grounding Greg, cheering Jan up who felt she was living in Marcia's Shadow, having a Man to Man talk with Bobby about Girls. Telling Marcia to go to bed after ruining some plans and staying up late. Mike should have locked the door when he wasn't there and only have Carol, and Alice have access other than him. Also He like Alice had a Typewriter. I wonder why Alice never got hers repaired. The Music you are playing sounds so much like The Music from a Charles Schulz Documentary.
I loooooove Mike's den.
The music was all from UA-cam 's audio library. Within a couple days YT will automatically add the information about the songs in the description.
Marina i LOVE it!, back in the 70s when i was a kid me and my family bonded over this show, the dry humor was the greatest , as usual you did a wonderful job , i miss this show, it was like tuning in to people you knew :)
Yes! It really did feel like that.
That ending on Newhart was my favorite finale ever! Absolutely classic!
I agree - best season finale of all time.
One of your best tours ever! Including stills of the show with the rooms really made it special. We really enjoyed the Bob Newhart show and Newhart show. Thank you.
Thank you! As you can probably tell, I had a lot of fun with this one.
The Bob Newhart Show was one of the best sitcoms from the 70s, right up there with All In The Family and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Thanks for this neat tour! You showed a picture of 2 characters from a couple of my favorite episodes. Debbie, who couldn't do anything right, as Carol's temporary replacement, and the little old lady played by Merie Earle, who was in the episode "Bob Has To Have His Tonsils Out." She played a volunteer in the the hospital having to deal with an very irritated Bob, he finally insults her, and she comes back at him, "Merry Christmas Mr. Scrooge!"

I so glad that you put the pictures of the Bob Newhart show from the seventies. This was great and I remember watching the Newhart show.
You did an incredible job! After “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” this was my next all time favorite comedy. Bob is my favorite comedian … I loved seeing every nook and cranny! I loved your comments on why these homes and shows mean so much to us. My husband and I love watching these old shows…they do bring back a simpler time where we felt safe … just love the nostalgia … and the humor holds up. Bob and Suzanne and crew all were so great. Being a couple who couldn’t have kids, this show also gives voice to us ( I was even an elementary school teacher like Emily!) Thank you for doing these. I love your channel.
Thank you. I'm glad you found the channel. Also thanks for sharing your thoughts on these shows and what they mean to us.
Of course these shows and their sets were important to us! The Big Bang Theory got so many requests of what the door in the background of Leonard’s and Sheldon’s apartment that the writers said they made it a point to show it was just a closet in an episode.
ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL... I totally enjoyed this, from beginning to end. Your commentary, I couldn't have agreed with more, as well. What an extra bonus, at the end...

Glad you liked it. I was so motivated to finish once I got the idea for the ending.
I met Jack Riley (Mr. Carlin) in the late 80's. He was a very nice man, he was interviewing me and others for a local radio commercial in Detroit.
How cool!
I can't tell you how much I needed that tour today. Thank you! My favorite of all the homes you've done!
That's great. Thanks.
Here's some trivia: Peter Bonerz directed some Friends episodes, Bill Daly and Bob N both lived in Chicago and first met in 1959, the Hartley's high rise was one among a strip of similar bldgs built with lake views and have since pretty much all converted to condos.
The show's early intro has Bob walking allover the place willy-nilly and his EL stop was actually in Evanston, miles from his apartment. Two train car service was on a weekend in the daytime, because before its revitalization, downtown Chicago was not a destination in the 1970s.
Thanks for adding this information!
Dear Marina. This series is wonderful. Your soft voice doesn't hurt nothing either! Thank you for all your hard work.
Thank you! I'm currently working on The Ponderosa from Bonanza.

This was so good I had to watch it again!! Excellent job! I love this show!! Yes in the den there was a bathrrom there's a scene where we get to see it. Carol decided that she wanted to date Howard but quickly realized that was a mistake! He goes in the den bathroom to avoid embarrassment when learns that Carol rejected him. Carol, Bob , and Emily go after him to console him. It's a good one! Season 1 ep.12. Thanks Marina!

Ha, that twist you added with Newhart, amazing! And his record too!
Thanks! I couldn't wait to put that in there.
These tours are awesome. I wish I had an apartment like Bob's cool & retro.
Glad you're liking these tours. Next up - The Ponderosa from Bonanza!
I remember a hilarious scene in Bob’s office. Bob walks out if his office into the reception area to find every doctor on the floor milling around Carol’s desk - Bob says, “This place looks like an ant farm.”
I can hear how he'd deliver the line. 😊 🐜
What a treat, another show that I enjoyed back in the good old days🌹😎
Great job as always, love these tours. I loved this show, loved this apartment, and I want a lot of these furnishing in my own home in 2022. I also remember the series finale for _Newhart,_ and how inspired it was that they made it "all a dream". Not only was it clever, but it was also referencing and sending up when _Dallas_ tried to erase an entire season by having it all be Pam's dream.
Yes! I remember it well. I gasped right along with the audience that night.

I always liked the style of the bedroom with the plaid bedding.
The 70s had some horrendous decorating and furniture styles but their bedroom was very sleek - as were those modular hanging wall units.
I loved their bedroom too. 😍
I loved the show. And that apartment! I was a young woman in the '70s and wanted that apartment. I actually only lived in one apartment back then and no, it wasn't anywhere near as sophisticated. And yes, life was simpler for many if us - or maybe we just remember it that way.

Loved the show not just because it was funny but also it was set in Chicago refreshing to have a show that wasn't set in LA or NYC.

You are amazing. You help me relive precious childhood memories of my favorite shows from new perspectives. Thank you.
I love hearing that. Thank you. 😊
My family loved this show, and all the similar ones in this era (MTM etc.). My dad laughed and said "my job takes me to many apartments. They almost never have levels like this. No one lives like this." I can see that it's an advantage to staging, and also, multi-levels and "sunken" living rooms was a very cool trend in this time period.
Yes. Every TV home I've done so far has walls that splay out, windows that can't exist as they are shown and different levels. Great for filming, but not realistic. Sure looks good on screen though. I keep them as they were on tv, wonky walls and all, so that as we walk through them they are how we remember them.

Great job Marina. I was 14 when _The Bob Newhart Show_ began in the early 70s. Unfortunately I missed the first season because my family only had the one television and I was always outvoted by my younger siblings.
I didn't have to put up with that after a friend of mine gave me a television for my room.
You showed areas in their apartment that I'd never seen. Howard Borland's apartment from across the hallway was much more to my taste. He had that nice stereo system and his bar was a rolling cart filled with about 200 little airline liquor bottles. Bill Daly passed away 4 years ago at age 91. I believe Bob Newhart and the dentist Peter Bonerz are the only ones still alive.
Looking forward to your next project. 😄👍
I hadn't noticed the tiny little airline bottles of liquor. That's a hilarious detail. Of course Howard would do that rather than buy his own. 😄
Thanks for the memories‼️. Seeing 👀 the office 🏬 and apartment brought back so many happy memories. I remember the series finale of Newhart too. I loved how it all came back to The Bob Newhart Show. Genius.
Yes. Genius. Bob Newhart said the ending was his wife's idea. 😊
Your narration thru-out the tour is probably what I enjoyed the most! You're so spot on about why we are so drawn to these old sitcoms! 💜
😊
Wow Marina!! You really outdid yourself this time! One of my favorite (if not my favorite) shows of all time. Everything you talked about with their lives being part of our lives is completely true. Fascinating insight as always into their home and office. I loved the fourth wall. It was truly a two-for special! Lol. Thanks again. 😄
Glad you liked the 4th wall surprise. 😊
ABSOLUTELY ONE OF YOUR BEST TOURS!!!!
Thank you!
I watch Bob Newhart almost every night before I got to bed because you're right, it takes us back a time that feels familiar and safe and simpler. It is Comfort TV for me. Since I've been watching recently, I seem to remember an episode which showed the bathroom in the den but I can't remember what the episode was about or even what season it was.
If you ever run across it, let me know. I want to check it out. Thanks.
Ahhh… the earth tones of the 70s. I love the louvred screen to the office. Add so much interest and mystique. The hall is so unusual and made me wonder how they got any furniture in there, most notably a hide a bed.
As always, thank you for your time and talents. You have such a gift. I can’t imagine the time it takes to figure out all the measurements, details, and occasional Easter egg. It’s clear this must give you as much enjoyment as we get from it, or you simply wouldn’t do it. 🙏
Thanks. It is definitely a labor of love. And, good question- how would they have gotten a sofa bed in there if this were a real apartment? 🤔
Once again, marvelous content! I really enjoyed the phone call from Bob at the beginning 😂. I nearly jumped off the couch when you said how Bob's apartment set resembles the MTM apartment, because I was thinking exactly the same thing. I love the research you did for this one to get the right finishing creative touches! I think the most intriguing part of Bob's apartment is the passageway that goes between the living room and the den. It's hard to imagine a normal-sized person making their way through that passage, let alone trying to move furniture through there in real life. Thank you for recreating a bit of the Stratford Inn!!! My family watched that show routinely throughout the mid-to-late 1980's. You are so right about people tuning in to see the entire ensemble of the original Bob Newhart show. Though most of the situations surrounded Bob's character, you couldn't wait to see all of the colorful characters he was surrounded by! Same with Newhart in the 1980's. And I just loved the jazzy elevator Muzak you included in this one!!! It fits perfectly.
Thank you! It would be tricky work getting the furniture back to the den. In real life, they would have to disassemble it. Glad you liked the phone call. It was a little out of my comfort zone, but, hey - it's Bob Newhart - there had to be a phone call. 😁
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane [Thunderous applause] 🤣
Yes I had never thought about that before
I loved Bob Newhart and enjoyed his shows. Entering the den was more dramatic than I expected. Certainly has pizazz. Thanks again for another great Tour. I really love your work.
Thank you. Glad you liked the entry into the den. We never got to see it on the show and I always wanted to.
Bob Newhart was my favorite show and I can still watch it some time when one of the channels that have that show on love it Thank you
I loved it too! His humor was so subtle.
UA-cam makes suggestions related to videos watched in the past. I watch Bob Newhart-related videos, so yours came up in the sidebar today. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have subscribed. Taking that virtual tour made me feel like it's all still there, intact. Such a welcome break from the absurdities of today's world. Excellent job. Thank you and may you be inspired to do many more.
That's great! I love comments like this. It keeps me going. Glad you found the channel.
Bob and Emily was my favorite TV apartment of the time...
The Partridge Family Home is one of my childhood favorite tv shows.
It's on my list.
You're right, we know those rooms like our own houses! Great job! Thanks!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the tour. I always love watching the shows after I finish a home because I see it with different eyes.

Dunno if you ever thought about it, but WKRP has a great set design, from Mr. Carlson's office, to the bullpen, Andy's office, the hallways, and the radio studio.
I'll probably do that one someday. I've had quite a few requests
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane The episode "Real Families" actually gives you a tour of almost the entire layout, complete with a few 4th walls, as Herb shows a TV crew around the station.
@@yournamehere6002 Cool. Well when I do that place, I'll have to watch that first.
I’d love to see you tackle the WKRP studio too. It’s always seemed like the window across from the DJ booth is spatially problematic given the location of the bullpen.
Behind the Scenes is right up there with Cadbury Creme Eggs - I can't have enough of either!
😄
I really appreciate your tours. They are so much fun ti watch. It makes me want to rewatch the old TV shows.
Oh good! Whenever I do a new home the same thing happens to me.
You have brought such joy to my spirit with this video! So grateful to you for creating these good feelings for us.💙
Thank you! I love knowing it has created good feelings for others. 😊
It doesn't get better than that!
OH WOW! This was so amazing/wonderful to watch. I spent from about ages 16-22 going to see TV Shows filmed, and attended many Bob Newharts, MTM, Rhoda, etc. actually, being a Cloris fanatic, I went to every single Phyllis for 2 years exceot missed 2! - Wow, this was like a trip back to memory lane. So many memories and so much fun (and free..lol!). Yes, remember so well the moving walls on wheels that accomodated the different sets. What a great job you did! Thanks so much!
Oh wow! I wish I could have seen one being filmed. How wonderful that you saw so many.

I ❤️ this show. When we moved from suburban to urban 8 years ago, my fantasy was to live in “Bob and Emily”s apartment.” My husband said that could really only happen in Chicago, but we came close in downtown Portland. During the pandemic when we Zillowed our Sundays away, it felt possible that Providence, RI could come close, but the condos I loved had too-high monthly fees.
Anyway, I really wanted to comment on Bob’s office. It never seemed as though there was a window in it. That makes no physical sense because it would have had an outside wall, but it felt like no sun ever shone in his office. I am just loving these recreations. Thank you!
I'm glad you're liking the tours. And congrats on getting a Bob & Emily type apartment in Portland.
Marina Coates - Mockingbird Lane Thank you. Urban living is everything I hoped it would be.
@@callioscope 😊
Absolutely loved both Newhart shows and the last episode of the second series was genius! Loved the Chicago apartment!
It WAS genius! Bob Newhart's wife came up with the idea.
They always felt like real places to me. Wonderful show, felt very authentic.
Yes. I agree. It felt like a real place. 😊

I saw the Bob Newhart show when it was on originally and watched it again about 6 months ago. I always loved that show. Thank you for all of the work that you put in to these videos. They are very interesting. I am so glad that I found your channel.
I'm glad you found it too!
Oh YAY!! I loved seeing this apartment on the show, with Emily's impeccable taste, of course. ☎️ Clever opening, Marina. Having worked in doctors offices for 2 decades what bothered me about those 70s offices were the encapsulated buildings with NO windows & natural light! Ugh! Emily helped that by placing plants in Bob's office. I've noticed that sets of British shows also lacked windows/light, making them dungeonlike to me. Bob's apartment though had a walk out balcony at least, like the Jefferson's apartment in the sky had - making all the difference in them not being claustrophobic.
Very nice surprise merging into the Inn at the end too. Bravo!
You make very good points. I've noticed something different about the sets on UK shows but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I think that might be it. Glad you liked the tour.
Thanks for another great job!
I never paid much attention to Carol’s area until now. My skin started to crawl looking at the setup of the typewriter. I would never tolerate having my back to the elevator! Do I need therapy? Ha! Of course I do. I’m a psychotherapist! We all need therapy!
She was tall too. Poor Carol would have been hunched over.
Thank you!! it was great to see their apartment again! for me, this was a better show than the inn. perfect ending to have Emily next to him in bed. it feels good to go back in time once in a while.
Doesn't it? Always warm feelings. And the show was so great. Great writing, casting and acting.
excellent job as usual, thanks for doing the office too. what a great apartment, you can really appreciate it when you see the whole Floorplan.
That's what I thought. I came to like it even more as I fleshed it out.
