- These boys needed our help and gave us a call. We rescued 7 horses in need on the Navajo Reservation. We personally bought them from these boys and you will be surprised what they did with some of the money. Horse rescue, animal neglect, and kids all pull at our heart strings and we love to help!

They have some beautiful horses, look pretty healthy, glad to hear they are going to geld some of their stallions. Great to see you helping out Alan.
It would be nice if a vet could have a clinic to offer low-cost gelding on the rez. It would be good to control the population and improve the quality of the horses. It would take a community effort to get all the stallions gelded. The cost would have to be low or free to encourage everyone to participate.
Horse plus has been on reservations this year doing free castration.
Most ranchers can geld horses. It's not difficult. Difficult part is catching them and getting them in a holding facility for wild horses.

I love in New Mexico and I was able to get my stud gelded for free thru the nm equine foundation. Look into it in Arizona. They should have help with gelding at least $100 off for most. Mite check it out I found New Mexico under all rescues in New Mexico and just looked thru them
I also felt this would have been a good time to teach these boys about gelding, owning and breeding horses.

This bunch are really good looking as compared to some that come off the res. If I lived nearby I would come check out the silver grey with the dark mane and tail! God blesses you and Vickie and the family each time you rescue His animals. If feed wasn't so expensive, you wouldn't have any problems finding homes for these horses. SUGGESTION: get a microphone clip on thingie for when you are interviewing as we can't hear much of what this young man is saying. I don't know about these things but I do see other videos where they are used and it is nice to hear not only what the videographer is saying but the ones you are talking with as well.
So sad; the guys will miss their dearly loved horses. They are heroes to the Navajo nation and to all Americans. Guys, I fell in love with that land about 40 years ago. I know you bless the land and the land blesses you back. ❤😊

Those boys sure love their horses, I sure wish a vet could donate a few castrations so those Studs wouldn't just keep on breeding those Mare's. They need to thin out their own herds. Yeah, I heard that part as well, such a bummer 😕. I was thinking, (praying 🙏) that a vet could donate their time and do a few castrations for free, and drive out there and do them! Hoping and praying on this one 🙏 otherwise the (open breeding) is just going to continue, and unwanted babies are going to suffer because of it 😔 Very Sad situation! Blessings to all 🙌 Jennifer

You know that Elder is going to go home to his ranch and make his own version of that practice bull. That's going to be a journal entry for sure!! Charlotte is a sweetheart and should be great for anyone to have. Her baby is very cute too. Those blue roams were pretty in the herd.
A very cool thing to get organized if possible, is to talk to Vets in the area of the reservations to see if they would donate their skills and care so that the res horses could be in better shape, and get gelded so that they don't keep multiplying and making matters worse. I see quite a lot of shows where Vets are asked to do this and many answer the call to help.
All I can say, is praise Jesus, that most is horses in pretty good shape. And those young men are doing the best they can. Blessings to you for taking the seven. Plus, blessings to those that already stepped up to the plate to give them new homes.. blessings to all of you, thank you for what you do🙏❤️

There is an old saying I don’t know the origins but it goes “if wishes were horses then beggars would ride”. I am 64 now with a bum leg and I live in a condo without anyway to care for a horse but this makes me miss the horses I had when I was much younger. I hope you find fantastic homes for these I believe there are special places in heaven for animals and the people who cared for them on earth. You and your family will receive extra blessing for going above and beyond to help God’s creatures.

Alan they can see if Love of Hoof has a snip program. HP might send money over to reduce cost. Some extras could also be surrendered to be started and find good homes. KT has a great program but not in AZ. They combined efforts for those on reservations for floats, medical and snip.
You could still transfer some horses to either.

They need a "trap, neuter, release" program like they have for feral cats. You are doing a compassionate thing :)

Loved the blue roans and a few of those darker to brown horses looked good. Of course I was just appreciating the colors, I would not know what is a good horse. Glad they got some help.
You should set up a donation page for them, maybe people would like to donate something so they can get feed for their horses! Just a thought! I’m sure people would like to try to help. They seem to care more than most people do, I’d rather help someone like that than someone I don’t know!

The horse problem on the Navajo rez needs fixed, but nobody can come up with an answer because of money and politics.

we have a Devotional every Friday for anyone who wants to come....ALL denominations are welcome...at noon here in my small town... this past Friday we had 2 young missionaries show up from California... they sat with us and listened to the Devo... pretty cool since I know Blake is on his mission!

Horse Plus non-profit full circle of life from Tennesee and has issued grants for veterinary castration, farrier to do hoof trimming, vet floating teeth etc. for the Navajo Nation...Az. They just had an event a few months ago.

The animal population in all animals is so big and out of control. It's so sad. All the shelters are over full right now. Dogs in crates, no AC, they can't find people to come work and help take care of them and people are still breeding more. I realize we need to keep the different breeds going but slow it down. There should be a limit on the amount they can breed and sell.
So the boys are Navajo Indians, like you hear about in the old films.
I wish I could help I live in Minneapolis Minnesota and I would love to have a horse but I don't even hardly have a backyard right

Is there a way we could do a Go Fund Me to buy feed for the winter. If we all gave $5.00 it would buy a lot of feed for the winter.
I don't have the ability to raise a horse but I can sure help these young men with expenses.

Why doesn't he start a UA-cam channel? To help pay for the horses, it might help what he does for a living and how he takes care of them would help too. So they know what the people are going through to help with the horses

I am guessing the Gilbert and Bentley and other young men get paid for their Bill Riding? I see some folks have some good ideas to help these horses and the young men who are trying to keep the horses healthy as possible!
God Bless them! Perhaps a Go Fund Me or something that would go directly to the feed store to supply the feed to the horses, and possibly to deliver? What about funds from the big hotels and casinos? I know we have some in California. Are these owned and run by reservations?

You could contact that Horse Rescue in your State----"For Love of the Hoof" I think it's called. You took on that black mare for a while last Autumn through the holidays from someone adopting through them---Blake trained her up. Stormy was her name, I think. Love of the Hoof does get some funding from Horse Plus Humane Society.
I was also going to suggest Horse Plus Humane Society in Tennessee to contact. they do grants and such with other rescues across the US that could maybe help with the gelding issue. Worth a try. Would also help stop so many horses going to slaughter.

Allan, you should of ask the one elder if his family back home could take a few in Montana. That was how my older brothers and cousins train for steer riding. But Grandpa didn't like it much I didn't know why. They did make it in his back yard. I got hurt at the age of 4 when my brother's buck me off. We tried to keep 😢it from my parents my broken bone.
