When my horse needs to be put down the vet comes to me puts her down and then cuts her tail I never trust anybody else to take her she's always with me when she goes and crosses the Rainbow Bridge. I do that with all my animals. This episode is so heartbreaking because the white stallion that look like he could be a unicorn was gorgeous and then the two other mares you just look into their eyes and they have so much pain and so much desperation so God bless you for everything you're doing for them. 💔💕🙏🐎🌹
I feel that Lily should not have been ridden. You can see by her back legs that it wasn't right with that weight on her back. A painful way to diagnose a horse.
And his wife both! Really going to miss them on the show. I had hoped they were just on vacation. And I can't remember her name, but the girl that wore the scarf all the time.

@@margodumelle8660I was surprised to find all Rescue are not the same. My friend had a rescue horse diagnosed with an neurological issue. They were informed to put her down. After consulting with three Vets they opt to go with surgery. Surgery was successful and it was pleasure to the eyes to see her running and enjoying the pastures.
@@margodumelle8660 and done what exactly? Do you know how many rescues are severely underfunded? Do you know how little resources they have? Many don't even have vets that live on site like Horse Plus does. The reason they gave him the last act isn't because of the castration. It's because of the anesthesia that comes with castration. For older horses in poor health, giving them any level of sedation can cause complications or downright stop their heart. And she's right. There probably aren't many people willing to adopt a horse that's going to require expensive surgeries and medicines for the rest of its life. Especially because it's an older horse that even with surgery you still shouldn't ride anyways. Can you sit here and genuinely tell me that you think this horse should sit there and suffer until they just get lucky enough to find a person willing to do all that for him? That's why they gave him the last act. Because they can't give him what he would need, and they know there aren't any shelters who could've either, and they aren't going to let him sit there and rot away in pain just praying someone would come along and adopt him and give him all of that. Even so, again, surgeries are extremely hard on older horses.
Dr Lydiia, you are my hero. In 1981 my mare w/a month old colt started showing neurological issues. . I had 4 of the top vets in Scottsdale AZ in my backyard. They heard what was goung on and showed up for me. I was 15. They concluded she needed the last act of kindness. My colt was orphaned. These vets were...are still my heroes for ensuring my girl didn't suffer. My colt went on to a great career then retired to pasture.
Dr lydia is fantastic. I admire her courage to diagnose so many with the last act of kindness. I also admired her skills with a scalpel. She genuinely cares about the animal we can tell.
I agree with Tawny that its none of our business why several people are no longer working at HP. However, I suggest that when someone leaves, there should be a simple announcement that they have indeed departed. If the person does not want any info released, a simple "As of (date), (name) is no longer working with HPHS." "For privacy reasons, no further details will be provided.". However, if okay by all in an amicable situation, something like "(Name) will be missed and we thank them for their contributions" or something like that. When nothing is announced, it leaves a negative effect and, frankly, most assume HPHS did something wrong unfortunately. Just one woman's opinion 😁. Bless you all for everything you do...its very difficult work! 🐎💕
They can also pay their staff living wages so they stick around. I know it’s a non-profit but it’s a successful non-profit. It costs more money to hire someone new & train them than to keep a good employee with a pay raise
@@kittymaya4615that is so true. This organization has been growing a lot over the years. Tawnee and her Husband have managed over all these years they are doing horse rescue to accumulate over 30 Rental homes and sell their self build home next to the Horse Plus Humane Property for 500 grant to Horse Plus. Yay Hailey, thank you for coming back. You are good at what you do and with staffing being a factor right now, how wonderful that an experienced horse lady can help out with the things that were formerly Kory's job. Maybe you can convince some of the other young people where you are from to come down to help, I am sure it would be appreciated and I bet there are more like you that would love an adventure and I have seen up close and personal when I lived in AZ and traveled with a friend out to the reservations how talented many of the the young men are taking those wild ones to being ridden in just a short time. What a great opportunity for you to be there with two fully time vets and vets that are more than willing to teach anyone who wants to know things. Also a big shout out to the couple doing volunteer work on electrics, and to the nice lady dog groomer. So many good people , and I may be bias but people who love animals are the BEST!
I am so impressed with Lynn! She volunteered for so long and it's awesome to see her as part of the staff now! I've been watching the channel from the beginning and, wow there has been a lot of change. It's nice to see all the growth❤
I often wonder if the former owners watch and see their horses on here and how they feel ? Especially the poor old horse that looked as though a veterinarian or someone that was supposed to perform the last act of kindness than sent it through the slaughter pipeline instead ?
I'm so happy you saved them and you won't let them be in pain. Just unbelievable how these horses have suffered and were sent to auction its disgusting
I wished there was a way to find the owners of the horses that were trying to do the right thing. That had paid good money to have their pet put to sleep, find out that their loved one did not get the peaceful passing they had wanted to give. That instead were scammed as their beloved was sold for even more money to be shipped hundreds of miles in a crowded hot trailer only to face a most horrible death!!! If they pulled this crap with me and I found this out, I would sue them to the max for not only for the pain and suffering to their beloved pet, but the trauma of pain and suffering to themselves as well!!!! We need to stand up for the sake of those that can't and stop these scam artists from profiting off our kind hearts! This is why you should always, always stay with your pet until the deed is done and if you can't please find someone who will for the sake of the animal so this atrocity never happens to your beloved pet. PLEASE.
Loved this video especially6n info about volunteers especially the electricians volunteer. Workers are so impressive and for some reason i like the grooming and neatening up of dogs and horses. Groomer is an ace with a good heart. I thank you all.
I was concerned when he came in that the top of the stack was going to tip everything over! The truck barely had it's front wheels on the ground! (Done that myself a few times) 🤣😂🤣
PS: Horse Plus needs to take care of their staff, not just adding on Buildings and buying top notch equipment. They need to appreciate their good employees for what they do and have to go thru. People like Cory should not have to leave to make more money in Construction. He and his wife brought a lot to Horse Plus. So did the Chicken men and his wife, and many others. It is great to rescue all these Horses from slaughter. But what about the People that come thru Horse Plus. It looks like they don’t even get lunch on Intake days from Tawnee and her Husband, who can afford it, unless someone donates it. The staff has to go thru a lot on those days and deserve special treatment.😮
It would be the organisation that needs to provide lunch, not Tawnee. The staff works for Horse Plus. They said they can't justify buying pizza when that money is needed for things like the horses, staff wages etc. Their bills are bound to be so high. There is only so much they can pay people. Folks will either say it's too much or not enough *shrug*
Thx for explaining of the meaning of the "cut-tail" It has been briefly mentioned from time to time, but not clear (enough for me) what it's about. Thank You 💕💋🐎
One of the best videos y'all have produced! I enjoyed the adoptions, perfect intake, and animal care information. The videography and editing is very professional and entertaining. Thanks for ALL you do!!!!
I would never be able to be a veterinarian. The pain they see and the ending of life they must do would totally undo me. I even failed fostering and kept many animals,
I'm sure you have other skills/talents that others don't have. If we all were able to do the same thing, there would be a shortage of people with the ability to do something else.
What happened to your access to truck loads of shavings? Did a Mill close? That chestnut looked over 200lbs light despite the new home. Lily looks promising if her legs check out. Very big thanks to the couple for stopping to help with the electrical despite her just retiring. So very kind of them. Congratulations on your retirement 💐
I respect Dr Lydia’s opinion 100% in most cases. However, in the case of the young filly and her recommendation that she could make a pasture pet, I totally do not agree. In theory yes it sounds lovely but reality is the pasture pets are the first to go when times get tough or situations change on farms. This horse is at risk for ending up right back in the same situation. It’s sad but unfortunately it is reality. Thank you HPHS for all you do.
You are the best. The whole staff are working so nice togheter.... Going to miss Kory, but you have Jordan and Troy and Haily are back. To wonderful vets and all the other staff.... Love you all.
💥Haley!! Do you watch The Farm on Route 66? The fam lives in Jo City? You should see what you can get cert'd for and help him but help others from the Rez! Just a thought if you plan on coming back. You sure are filling in, in Kory's place! You are a hard worker!
Will miss Kory. But also curious abut Kimberly. She also hasnt been in a few episodes lately. Shes been a familiar face for years and also a crucial part of Horse Plus for many years
My bad. Somehow I missed everything about Kory leaving and the shock of it overcame sense. Didn't mean to be nasty. Very sorry. Will miss he and Caitlin just as I miss seeing Kim and Chicken John.
Nice to see Haley back and that she can stay to Christmas. A suggestion for handling the horses, rather than pulling them around on a long lead, please hold the lead much, much closer to the halter. It also put far less pressure on the horse’s neck. You guys are doing great work. Thank you!😊
Im upset. I love the work you do and Iove the people who do it and I'm one of those people-with my dollars-and I feel I should be a part of the program. Apparently Kory and Caitlin have left. Was this planned or a sudden secret departure? If planned, werent we even worth a goodbye? Or an announcement that they were going. Sneaking away from the people who care for you is certainly not professional.
This seems entitled. It wasn't a secret it was shared on fb. They have the right to make decisions about their life without telling us. We do not know them.
I noticed that LIly (?) the black mare was twisting her right hind foot when she was walking. It could be nothing but might have a problem in the leg or foot. I did not notice it on the let but definitely on the right hind.
Animal rescue is hard... in all ways. It is hard to pay high wages too and good luck to anyone who does have to leave we all have lives and plans. It is a hard career to be long term stable in
I had a dog with a tumor on his spleen. They gave him 30 to 90 days. He lived 18 months. Key is feeding that cancer. Most dogs die because they quit eating.
Seeing Dr Lydia doing her amazing job as vet... Do you have the option to send some of those gorgeous x-ray-pictures to vet-schools? I've seen so many great allround-examinations done by your team in so many of your videos, those would surely be of great value to all vet-students!!!
So sorry to hear that Kory is leaving, wish him best in his new endeavours. I saw his gentle caring and patience, especially on buyout day he would take time to care for each frightened horse he handled. Best wishes Kory.

❤. Thank You all!
PLEASE.
Glad Hayley is back 💙
Loved this video especially6n info about volunteers especially the electricians volunteer. Workers are so impressive and for some reason i like the grooming and neatening up of dogs and horses. Groomer is an ace with a good heart. I thank you all.
Totally amazed at how high Keith can load that truck, magic !
I was concerned when he came in that the top of the stack was going to tip everything over! The truck barely had it's front wheels on the ground! (Done that myself a few times) 🤣😂🤣
I love watching them rescuing the animals
This music is horrible
You ever worked in construction?? There's no way a non-profit can afford $40/hr lmao
@@Ceretrea If I had the money that Tawnee and husband have, I would by them lunch at each Intake.
@@MarionC-ol3et They already put enough of their time and own money in.
Thx for explaining of the meaning of the "cut-tail"
It has been briefly mentioned from time to time, but not clear (enough for me) what it's about.
Thank You
💕💋🐎
One of the best videos y'all have produced! I enjoyed the adoptions, perfect intake, and animal care information. The videography and editing is very professional and entertaining. Thanks for ALL you do!!!!
On my bucket list is volunteering at Horse Plus for a couple of weeks. Love them all so much
I would never be able to be a veterinarian. The pain they see and the ending of life they must do would totally undo me. I even failed fostering and kept many animals,
I'm sure you have other skills/talents that others don't have. If we all were able to do the same thing, there would be a shortage of people with the ability to do something else.
Watching from Canada….you have an amazing team! Love watching you all work together….Bless You!
5 minutes of wonderful is better at the end than nothing ❤
I respect Dr Lydia’s opinion 100% in most cases. However, in the case of the young filly and her recommendation that she could make a pasture pet, I totally do not agree. In theory yes it sounds lovely but reality is the pasture pets are the first to go when times get tough or situations change on farms. This horse is at risk for ending up right back in the same situation. It’s sad but unfortunately it is reality. Thank you HPHS for all you do.
Good point, but I heard Dr Lydia say that she hadn't made up her mind about the filly yet.
Prayers and Blessings ❤😊❤😊❤😊
Just saw Molly mule is so cute. Look at that is the darling little thing and she’s young too only two.
She caught my eye as well.
Lot of acts of kindness... 😢
Sassy is a flame point Siamese mix
Kory seemed unhappy on his last video, maybe he is done with it, but he was a great help for the rescue horses ❤
9AC11 Beautiful Illusion, 21 yr old Standardbred mare.
She's such a beautiful girl with the perfect name.
It's good to see Hayley again!
Sad that I had to find out that Kory is leaving from other horse plus fans
Well done everyone
You are the best. The whole staff are working so nice togheter.... Going to miss Kory, but you have Jordan and Troy and Haily are back. To wonderful vets and all the other staff.... Love you all.
Bring grain to find a horse in a pasture. Even in Tennessee. Great rescue operation
💥Haley!! Do you watch The Farm on Route 66? The fam lives in Jo City? You should see what you can get cert'd for and help him but help others from the Rez! Just a thought if you plan on coming back. You sure are filling in, in Kory's place! You are a hard worker!
Kory is doing a great job on work ing with the horse Nanette
I enjoy watching your intake day. Could you possibly do a video on what you do with the horses that gets the last act of kindness
There's a risk that too many people will complain
about that. Next time you have a pet put down, stay with them and you will see what happens.
They have an on site crematorium
Glad Haley is back!!
Bless everyone at HP❤❤
Will miss Kory. But also curious abut Kimberly. She also hasnt been in a few episodes lately. Shes been a familiar face for years and also a crucial part of Horse Plus for many years
Tawny made a ‘don’t ask’ statement a couple of episodes ago.
When did Kory leave?😢 why? Kaitlin too?geez i missed that
My bad. Somehow I missed everything about Kory leaving and the shock of it overcame sense. Didn't mean to be nasty. Very sorry. Will miss he and Caitlin just as I miss seeing Kim and Chicken John.
When. Someone decides to leave we don't need to get the reason BUT tell us the y have left it keep down roumers
Nice to see Haley back and that she can stay to Christmas. A suggestion for handling the horses, rather than pulling them around on a long lead, please hold the lead much, much closer to the halter. It also put far less pressure on the horse’s neck. You guys are doing great work. Thank you!😊
I only started the video now but I wanted to mention that I too, want to be an official Animal Snuggler
❤Owen is lovely!❤️
Love the video, wish I could come to volunteer days.
Miss Chanel is entirely too cute.
She's the best.
I hope she will be okay. Dr. Gina said she has some internal issues that need to be addressed.
You people rock 👏👏
Kory leaving was shared on a previous video. It wasn't kept a secret.
Yes they noticed, the vets will look at her.
Great video guys
Hello everyone.
Hello! 👋
Hi Janet 👋🏼
Jo in Michigan ❤️
I love see you enjoy the pasteurhorses! You are so worth it!
That guy is too heavy for the chestnut gelding ,the rider should be 20% of the horses body weight
I 💯 agree.
Actually new research is out that it's 30%.
Did anyone ask the horses!
And don't forget the saddle, girth (cinch) and pad within the 20 % rule.
God bless you all
So sorry to hear that Kory is leaving, wish him best in his new endeavours. I saw his gentle caring and patience, especially on buyout day he would take time to care for each frightened horse he handled. Best wishes Kory.
What happened to Kory?! I missed that. Hope he's okay!
He left HPHS to work in construction. I'm sure he's alright.
That "Molly Mule" is so darn cute, not sure what a Molly Mule is but should be snapped up as a buddy.
It means she's a girl.
