- A judge has vacated the first-degree murder conviction for Marvin Haynes, who was sentenced to life in prison for a 2004 murder at a Minneapolis flower shop. Hennepin County Judge William Koch on Monday morning signed an order vacating Haynes' conviction in the slaying of Randy Harry Sherer at Jerry's Flower Shop. Haynes, who was 16 at the time of the 2004 crime, was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2005.

I know any amount of money isn’t enough to give you back 20 years. Please, move forward and live your life. Please don’t give everyone the finger by going back to prison. I hope you get millions and put it to good use by helping other young men.

This breaks my heart, at least twice a week there releasing innocent people some off of Death Row. I think if there's even just one mistake and someone is on Death Row then it only makes sense there's more innocent people in prison and on Death Row. He could have been a cop, a carpenter, even a plumber and made more than $100,000 a year, owning his own business. Not to mention the mental and physical pain he endured by no fault of his own. Yes, there was an eyewitness who did not identify Marvin. Get the facts straight when you are going to trash a man who was convicted , as a 16 yr old boy by a corrupt police dept & detectives. Heartbreaking and happens so often. He went into prison as a child and spent his entire adult life in prison. God bless the Innocence Project and God bless Marvin and his family that never gave up hope and pressed on through the years to get him out of prison. I wish him all the best in his future.

This man's cousin also testified and claimed the guy told him he killed the guy. But he recently recanted the testimony, citing "racisssst cops" or some bullshit.
