Cool little trick with those fish bubbles aerators, you can put them in the ice fishing hole when it’s really cold out and it will stop it from freezing over.
Man I just watched the alone series thanks to you (did a lot of skipping through to find my favourite contestant). That was absolutely amazing, watching you loose weight but stay strong because of your family. The ending of episode 10 got me, cried a little with you. When you build your own shack, consider putting a circulation fan on the ceiling to force the warmer air down towards the floor.There are battery operated ceiling fan models, made for tent camping, that should fit the bill.

I'm from Logan West Virginia and we buy red colored mealworms for trout fishing we use them to tip our jigs our ice don't get thick enough for ice fishing. Love your channel sir

I love my EcoFlow River Pro. I'll be buying one of the EcoFlow Delta units soon for more power. The larger Delta unit will probably stay at home as a backup for my fridge, the River Pro is perfect for camping.
To deal with the high tems at the roof and cold at the floor, a small fan hanging from the ceiling will blow the warm air down and make a nicer even temperature for the whole cabin

Looks like an awesome adventure.... Really enjoy the channel you always give me such great ideals for my own adventures and have learned so much from you that I didn't know..... The ice shanty is super awesome would love to do something the same... I think I need a dog I end up doing a lot of adventures by myself but it's always still fun love just being out in the world just pushing the limits and seeing what you can do is all a part of living life get out and enjoy it we only have one to live.....

10 isn't cold for us Canadians dead of winter, -10, you're getting there.
Your dog is awesomely cute. I suggest a small blanket to put over while lying down in bed. This might help with shaking. Sometimes they just want to lie down in the dark. Dogs do tend to burrow. Putting the blanket over will add a feeling of security and darkness. Works great for my boxer out on camping adventures.
Matthew Posa does some very considerate things on his channel for his dogs. I think the basics are needed for Butter. No one wants to see this baby dog go without the necessities, like booties.

An older guy I use to date would always tell me how I'd be surprised at how people live in different places and how much I need to explore and get out of my environment and this channel is exactly what I needed to even begin to comprehend what he was saying to me at the time. You should build one of those spring traps and use a either a .22 or primer so you can hear em go off when your in the cabin

I love the winter challenges! I live in Michigan and get lots of cold, which leads me to tons of my own winter adventures I share with my kids. Give us a bare bones limited winter survival challenge the Fowler way! Please!

You should make wooden telescope curtains as well for the outside edge of the shack and then when you have your whole open at night fishing you will not have the wind blowing straight Under The Shack back in

Why don't you have like a get-together with some of your fans over here in Vermont we can do it on one of the Lakes like Lake Champlain I think it would be great plus a really great way to connect with your fans if you ever decide to let me know or if you want someone to guide you to where the real fishing holes are let me know I'll take you to spots that only a true local would know and most locals don't

Total side note. Do collapsible counter top. Kinda like the little collapsible table/tv tray thing next to your mini kitchen to be able to prep
Maybe make a cut in one "counter" to hold a bowl or something to use as makeshift sink/discard area while prepping. (Just thinking of what I would want in mine).
I can tell you the moon thing is a real thing for sure , I have always fished with the almanac down here in bama and it's always done me really well .. and it's always based off the moon phase .

I picked up a free 6x8 shed that Im turning into a ice shack first time having my own permanent shack. Looking forward to putting it on a lake in southern Maine
Use a diesel heater in your shack, diesel heat doesn’t produce water vapor and you won’t have the problem with condensation. Also, diesel is a lot cheaper than propane and it’s available at every gas station. Make the height from the ice to the floor so that you can use real catch cover inserts and you won’t have the problem with the updraft. Catch cover has a lot of really great products for permanent shacks. You can also use an aerator to help keep holes open when it’s super cold.

I welded 2" receiver hitches on all my tractor implements and then welded axle spindles onto two 2" hitch mounts. The hitch mounts with wheels and tires installed can be switched interchangeably between implements, so I only need one set. I have one trailer tongue assembly that also utilizes the 2" receiver and mount setup to make it interchangeable with implements as well. I can trailer all my implements easily from location to location. A 2000LB disc harrow is no problem to transport. I raise and lower implements with a bottle-jack to mount and remove the wheel sets, but a set of tongue jacks permanently mounted to each side of a shack would make this method super easy. Also, the wheels and tongue stay on my large BBQ smoker when not being used on implements so I can easily move it around the yard or to tow it to a campsite.
