      Agreed the heat source was not a breathing friendly aporadus. I seen that right away. If you didn't open the door their would have been an efixiation concern

    These are called "Gumpi" here in Norway and have been used for a long time by the sámi reindeer herders.
    Size-wise they range from smaller and more compact than this (some even as compact they resemble pop-up tents) to much larger ones.

    That’s an awesome brother of you!!! My brother does things like that as well or even for random people , he has a huge heart and likes to give people a better day is what he says ! He’s the least selfish person I know !!!!

    You should get a "one shot" to solve your slush clearing situation.
    The headache could be from the propane heater. I always get a dry throat and headache when using propane heaters. Diesel heaters are the way to go.

    Next time, start the holes, then move the shack, then finish the holes, clean the ice out , and move it back.

    Around 51:59 I really enjoyed the, for lack of a better word, theatrical version of Clair De Lune. That version of the song fit really well with your video. Also thought the last few seconds of the video with trying to get the glamper back on the ramp, was pretty funny.

  • @charlesab
    @charlesab 10 місяців тому +2

    Mark the holes from inside the ice glamper, move the glamper, drill the holes, clean up the hole, move the glamper on the holes, no mess inside. Really enjoy your channel.

    • @gregmintram3273
      @gregmintram3273 10 місяців тому

      Really???? Or just bring a squeegee and a dust pan to clean the mess without the extra work and head ache of what you suggest lol

    • @gregmintram3273

    • @charlesab

      Yes carry extra stuff around wth, the glamper can be moved almost without any effort, I guess its too much to do it right for you.😃

  • @Lucydius
    @Lucydius 10 місяців тому +3

    Bro, with the snow dog, I think having one of the sharp screws to make the holes, then cutting a couple of mm off the ones you install on the tracks would be way less risky. Maybe using some kinda of low temp thread lock (not really that) or glue would be even better. Heck yeah for the camper mission!

    Surprise with the amount of time and effort yall put into that portable one man ice shack, yall didn’t put any insulation inside it, that’s would’ve been a plus for coziness and risen up the price in case yall wanted to sale it.

    VEVOR has a kerosene heater ( 12V 8KW diesel air heater that has a 10L tank, LCD monitor with remote control), a heat outlet, and an exhaust outlet. It sips the fuel and has multiple settings.
    Simple Living Alaska retrofitted one into a case, so they could have their dogs stay warm, in their sleds doghouse, for the 6.5 hour snowmobile ride to their cabin. They also set one up to heat their chicken coop.
    Might be what you are looking for...

    Carbon monoxide poisoning from your heater not enough venting in your shack is why you had a headache, happens alot in the pop-up portable ice shacks, try running the drill in reverse push the slush down the holes works great

  • @TrueNorthBaits
    @TrueNorthBaits 10 місяців тому

    Great video! Wicked setup! Another tip for slush in the holes is to put the auger in reverse and blow it back down the hole.

    Best luck ive had for morning bite for salmon through the ice is by putting the bait from just under the ice to about 5 ft down for morning bite. Salmon will run just under the surface. Fished Champlain my whole life and have caught many many salmon doing so.

    What's funny is that Flair will be like, "We can't show cleaning the catch because of UA-cam" and then posts the uncensored cleaning on his website. Fowler's like, "Oh nice - a perch!" And then rips its head off with his bare hands.

    • @peterneufeld8957

    My last bob house was 8x8 setup on 16" bar joist as skids. Insulated floor and forced hot air under the floor. 12 volt lighting, gas heat and cooking. A real sweet rig but heavy. I called it Ice Station Zebra, and it was painted like a zebra. I fished mostly on New Found Lake. My rooster is named Bucky. 😁

    Mate talk about a glamping setup that’s awesome the only way you could improve that is by making your shelter bigger and have the kitchen inside and driver setup maybe something to shelter you from the weather while you travel oh and maybe alter the skis so they dig in a bit more for the donuts 😂 love it tho

    One thing you can do with your auger is take your drill and put it into reverse and send all the slush back under the hole. Alford is one of those places that is hit or miss as well.
