I think it's a question of copyright. This show was filmed for Mitsubishi / Pioneer, Japan (she had a contract with them in Japan). And even if it was also released through Warner, perhaps the fact that it was done for Pioneer made it impossible to release it in other countries. That happens a lot for shows filmed in and especially for Japan. I also agree that it was filmed better. Trust the Japanese to know how to do things well!
