I’m doing strict keto and one meal a day, and I’ve lost 42 pounds in 6 months, but I’ve hit a plateau. I appreciate the information. I think the main problem is I’m eating too much meat.

What an intelligent, down to earth lovely presentation !!! I came across this video while looking for information re. resistant starch and came across this wonderful information! I have been on a
low carb life style and 8/16 intermittent fasting ,walking 30 min daily , lost weight , haven’t made any changes, yet not only did I hit a plateau, but started gaining weight !! This is where your video was an eye opener and so helpful and reassuring !! Thank you so much- you are an inspiration!! Keep up your good work!! 👏💐

Fantastic! I did watch this video some months back - enjoyed it & certainly got benefit from it. But this time, it seems to be exactly what I need. Gosh, you just keep talking fluidly - do you make or follow any notes? You have a gift for presentation, which includes no prejudging, stressing that this is your experience & might not suit everybody, presenting info in a way that is so accessible, fitting in an extraordinary amount of information - covering pretty well all bases, & your lovely, gentle manner. I think your videos are amongst the most valuable on the internet. Again, thanks!

Been on keto 15 months, & will be forever! Lost 10 lbs within 6 months & @ a healthy weight. Want to get to 155, & actually dare not get on scale only working on NSV. With a 8 month stall a little worried am I doing something wrong. Track my macros and stay bet 1300-1500 calories. Might be too much protein. I am going yo start OMAD extending my fast & no BPC, just black coffee and water. Im 59 ( 60 in Nov) bealthy on no meds, sleep 8 hours, no stress, retired without a care in the world except C19, and all the craziness going on that bums me out terribly. Sorry to carry-on but I've been searching for days on UA-cam for answers, and uou are the only one I found that really addressed the Plateau. Not the 2 week plateau but one that has lasted so much longer. Thank you & looking forward to getting more from your journey to enhance my experience.

There are (were) three people I check on reasons why this or that happens on the Keto program. I started Keto this July (going into this as an eating program NOT a diet) this past August I started trying the intermittent fasting ( 16/8) havent really seen any significant difference yet. But today I weighed in 2lbs heavier and again ran to your video to get an explanation. YOU really explain the whys and why nots! And I know you're not a "Dr." But you makes a LOT more sense than those other two ("dr.s") 👍 Thank you so much. I mean this from the bottom to top of my heart.

This is just brilliant! I think this is a must for anyone with questions about keto - it touches on so many important considerations in a consice and accessible way. I have friends how often try to quiz me about keto - and when I start to unpack it all it I get the impression they are overwhelemed. But I think the way you presented all these topics, in a calm clear manner, will really help people feel empowered.

I weigh myself first thing in the morning and record it in app too. 😊 Have been doing sort of keto (still have small amount of brown rice for lunch but not dinner) for almost 2 months and have lost 5 lbs. I do 168 IF and I feel great. The reason I started is to cope with current pandemic. We need to have healthy system in our body to fight in this not short journey. I am so happy to learn from you to make variety of food to make diet fun and possible. I was not a bread person (but loved croissant) and had no baking skills but your explanations on each recipe give me so much faith. I was fruits terminator and now the only fruits I have are berries, just like you. And lime and lemon for cooking and drinking. My skin turns more smooth than before after quitting sugar and processed snacks. I love almonds but wonder how much almond (almond milk, almond flour, almond flakes) will be safe for daily intake if it replaces milk and flour. Trying to get balanced diet is still another challenge in every day decision making. Thanks for sharing your story which encourage me so much and I feel I want to share mine too.

More stress at work lately, leading to less amount and quality of sleeping, having dinner later, and tolerating IF worse. Also I wonder if a glucose increase due to stress can cause the body to store the fat you eat the same way as if you were eating carbs.

Another informative chat. Quick question which app do you use along with your scale ? I have been on Keto for a month now. I do not measure Ketones rather go by the fit of my clothes but thinking I might invest in a scale. I know it is working as loved clothes that were too uncomfortably tight are now wearable and I love that. I intermittently fast in that I eat my first meal around 2 - 3 pm other than a couple cups of Coffee in the morning to get me going. Then eat again around 7 or 8 then I'm done. Without a scale I imagine I would never know when I hit a plateau. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences it is always most enlightening and enjoyable to listen to you.

At first when I started keto, I lost 10 pounds from my original 120 pound weight. I also started running 6x a week, biked 5x and eventually started doing yoga. After the 6 month mark I actually started gaining weight, and I did not change anything about what I had been eating before. I'm convinced that I wasn't gaining weight in fat, but rather weight in muscle I built from running, biking and yoga-ing. Weight does not indicate your progress necessarily and I think it is more nuanced of what is going on in our body.

Hey guys, i'm struggling with keeping protein to 20-25%. I love to bake but almond flour has 11 g fat and 40 g protein in just 100g! That's a hella lot. I switched to flaxseed flour which has 19g fat and 33g protein / 100g but it's still very much.... If I bake something then I probably wont be able to eat much for the rest of the day... how long does the plateau last? I didn't lose anything the first week then i lost 4 lbs in 6 days then the number went up again and then back to 160, i got 159 last week. but its kinda just sticking around still. :( the fact that it went back down i think it's likely this issue with plateau but im just not sure and kinda frustrated it has been 15 days total and ive eaten TOTALLY CLEAN. I rarely make my calories over 1300 it's usually closer to 1000 hopefully thats ok. im using an app that helps with counting my carbs, fats and protein. carbs stay below 20

The plateau where you got this word sounds beautiful. In the disease there are the words crisis, i.e. the rise of the disease, the decline of the disease and remission, weakening or decrease. Those. the process of movement of disease or recovery. Plateau geographical designation (fr. Plateau, from plat - "flat") - an elevated plain with a flat or wavy, weakly divided surface, bounded by distinct ledges from the neighboring plain spaces of the earth's surface. The plateau does not have movement because it is a plane. displacement due to the shift of tectonic plates. We are constantly on it on the plateau. It does not rise and fall. I did not understand. What does medicine and geography do. There is a name stable remission. Reconvalescence is a recovery process. normal life of the body after an illness. Stable (lat. Equilibrium) state of health. Have not tried to repeat the textbook of geography the geographic society can sue you for illegal use of the geographic designation of the plateau

I had carbs, fresh brioche burger bun ! Tasted great, but ohhh gained a lot& felt glub glub glub, slow, drowsy. Familiar yuck! Mad shame me keto bread instead and I use collard leaves steamed to wrap my protein. I feel so much better.

    Good Video. Have a question:
I lost with Keto 25kg in 6 Month. But since 2 Month i hit a plateau. No weight loss since over 2 month. Right when i start with OMAD. Can OMAD cause my plateau?

Hi Uwe, our body is an extremely smart machine. Whatever eating patten or diet you practice for an extended period of time your body will eventually try to adapt. As a result the diet becomes less effective. Personally I would increase to two meals a day for a short period (a week or two) and then back to one meal. Or maybe up the carbs a little bit then bring it down. One principle, our body needs to be "shocked" from time to time to recalibrate. Having said that, 25kg in 6 months is a tremendous amount to lose. Your body might be simply taking a break to gain its footing before losing more. Hope this helps.

I weighed 6-7kg more than I do now. I wasn't overweight according to BMI but I wasn't feeling optimal for sure.
