This was the best aloe repotting video I've ever seen. I've watched many videos on the subject because most leave so many unanswered questions but your video was informative and complete (as far as I can tell)! I've never seen the process of cutting off the leaning stem and pulling the bottom leaves. Thank you very much!

For anyone who is trying to make your aloe Vera root here is how to do it:.
1.cut the dead roots (if you have them)
    2. Cut the stem to the length you want.
3.let the cuts dry (if you don't and plant it directly you will end up with a decomposing squishy aloe Vera)
4.once dried plant it in soil (in a well draining pot)
5.water it only once a week for the first two weeks.
I have myself tried this and trust me now mashallah my aloe Vera plant has beautiful roots

Thank you for this video, it's exactly what I needed! My aloe had about 4 inches of bare stem on most of the individual plants! I literally have to lay it against the window because it doesn't carry it's own weight at all anymore. Now all 5 pieces have been trimmed way down and waiting for calluses to form. Can't wait to replant them and have my old gal back to her former glory :)

Hi! I had a question about how long you let the mother plant callus over before you replanted it? Because I live in a relatively cold climate, and low humidity, so should I expect to have to wait a while before I can replant the mother. I've seen some people wait 4-6 weeks, so I'm just not sure. The root is getting dryer, but not changing colour in any way

I saved my jade cuttings last minute by pulling them out of the soil I put each one in once I heard about root rot. It can take up to a month or more to get roots. We bought a prolly 4 years old aloe about seven years ago. We use the gel (pull off lower leave let alone drip out, peel, cut freeze) so in time the stem the whole plant is standing on became so long. It thrives, producing leaves and even flowers and pups. I would really like to know if this method of yours works, I repotted it all and removed a large part of the roots and got most of the stem under ground but if your method works I could just harvest lowest leaves and get the big one in a lower pot (the pups are doing great and we have gifted a lot in the past so there are backups yet I read somewhere only after flowering the plant reaches the stage of being best for use so would like to keep the mother alive (yet a smaller pot would be nice :)) after a year any updates?

like a spoon full at the base. a tiny bit of moisture will sorta coax out those roots, but if you start soaking it youll just encourage rot becasue there is nothing to suck up the water. honestly Id leave it for a week or two and let it get some roots started before doing some very little bits of water near the base

I saw this video like a week ago and said to myself “no I don’t wanna risk my Original Aloe vera (5-6 y/o).. It seems fine despite hanging over the pot.”
Now tho… I haven’t checked them thoroughly for some time but I noticed my pups in the pots behind the big Aloe had pests..!! So I checked the big one and I did not see any but I felt that they had been there chewing some..
I decided to remove the smaller plants that the big Aloe vera was leaning on and now I’ve fixed something temporary for it. But I’ve decided it’s probably time to fix this now..
I’m so afraid right now! I Don’t Want To Lose my plants. I hate pests and I don’t want them spreading even more, but they’re my babies, I should try and save them.. But I’ll probably not succeed anyway..
Hopefully the big one doesn’t get targeted now because of the repotting.. I don’t want Florida to die 🥹

I cut my plant took off the dead leaves and then I put it in water for a few weeks changing the water out after every few days to get it to grow roots that seems to work so far. Then once it's grown some roots I put it in soil.

    • @TechplantChannel

What do you mean they grew mold? Like as soon as you cut the base they all drooped?

    • @taylorcassan290
      @taylorcassan290 2 роки тому

I cut the base and let them sit out but they never dried out like these ones and I left them out for maybe even too long waiting to see it brown. Then I decided to put them in dirt with no water for a week. Watered them and then a week later the dirt grew mold on top and the leaves all started folding. And drooping. My Aloes look very sad.

It would’ve been fine if you just cut them then just stuck them in a pot, no need for the water… aloe plants can re-grow from stem/leaves, it will start to grow roots over a few days

also my soil in just normal potting soil with lots of perlite and small rock/sand and they have thrived a year in that. i dont fertilize them either, just repot them everybyear and reuse the old soil for outside plants

Huh. We grow a lot of aloe in our house and around our house because you can easily neglect it and it grows well. I never knew that the roots could be cut like this! That is so cool. Thank you so much for the video. We do have some aloe plants that we put directly in a jar of water and I rinse them every other week and refresh the water. Oddly they keep going. We sort of started that as an experiment and now they've been in the jars for years. However, I will say I did not cut the roots. I dug up the entire plants, roots and all. Thought you might find this interesting.

If only I knew this I wouldn’t have over 50 pups now because I decided to plant a group of 3 aloe veras into a huge pot together thinking they would grow bigger but instead there was an explosion of pups. 🤣 Time to juice and freeze some pulp then!

Also, I have a nice Aloe Vera, but she wobbles in her pot, because I’m afraid to put too much soil around the stem. So I’m trying to prop her up with a few rocks. But after watching this, I think I need a little more soil around that stem…. Thanks again.

Also cut off the bottom of the plant with roots because the plant stem was way too long...Now my plant is resting on a towel and I'll wait for the bottom to callous over! Yay thanks for sharing this method :) Also I had the aloe in a gigantic terra cotta pot--I didn't know downsizing will help the plant produce pups! I'm going to look for a smaller pot now so I can give my friends plant babies.

Hi!! I've watched your video but I need help rescuing my 150 lb aloe vera plant that I grew from a tiny baby. I got sick and just kept repotting it without learning more and it's grew these huge stalks that are connected to the main plant. I've removed a lot of babies but the stalks.... I've moved it to a giant trailer that i made a planter out of. I refuse to leave it when we move. I have a video and some pictures. Everyone says separate it... but no one can tell me how to safely do do it. It's not all connected by roots. It's branched off in 3 inch stalks..I can just repot the biggest parts like it is and pull all the babies I can.. or ?? Please help!!💖🙏💔💖

I transplanted it when it got too big for the original pot. after seeing this, that might've been a mistake. it's really top heavy so i put some broken plastic hangers in to support it. the bottom leaves are looking bad. i didn't know i could leave it for a while and it wouldn't die. it really needs some tlc now, because I've done a lot of neglecting except for watering. I feel like a bad plant momma now. 😮‍💨🤥😔
