Totally agree i prefer this over tudor and my submariners... Even considering flipping them as i dont use them as much.... Wears like a dream.... It calms my soul... Hihi
I've got this watch and love mine, yes it's expensive and I got mine used but mint for just over half price retail . I also have the earlier spb051, and that's still a great watch , but these sla models are comparable to any Swiss divers at similar price points. Super cool watches , and so beautifully made !!! My only gripe is not regulating the movement. But that is my only fault of the watch , everything else is just perfect .
similar watch, technically in terms of mechanical specs it's superior. Seiko still dont regulate these movements regardless of price and tier of movement used. SLA037 has polished surfaces which you may like, zaratsu surfaces provides a little more elegance, watch is a bit thicker though. Doesnt use everbrilliant steel, still has a high pitting corrosion rating (PREN).I think its universally the better watch since it has the high beat and no baby blue seconds hand. Both are exquisite.
Not quite true, the 37 as well uses Ever Brilliant Steel, only the 17 did not. Anyway, the 43 is in my eyes the nicest of the trio as it has brushed sides and that deep blue dial is just magical and unseen anywhere else. Good choice, I made the same :)
The fact of the matter is you only bought it because you got a 35% discount, it’s why the majority of folks purchased it. Meanwhile BB58 lucky to get at retail even after all these years. This coming from someone about to purchase the SLA043.
At that price the sla043 is great competion. I would've gotten it at exactly the price of the bb58. I don't bave it any more due to a personal gripe of the watch, not because it is an "overpriced" Seiko. This watch boasts an insane amount of value for the money when you get it at the right price.
Peter kotsa. He did get it regulated. His watch maker is a Sri Lankan man mr Rajanathan Thangarajah- very well known watch repair man for the Tamil/ Sri Lankan navy in the 70s before migrating to Melbourne! Not everyone can achieve that sort of accuracy but he’s done a few of my pieces too!
In real life the blue seconds hand is very subdued. It's classy and adds some pop. It's a lot more noticeable on these videos , but in reality it's lovely.
Much nicer than any Grand Seiko diver design.
Congratulations. Nice to see this watch get some love. One of my favorites
What a beautiful watch, Sam! That blue dial is so nice. Congratulations!
Great pickup. The Blue dial is definitely a step up from their regular diver lineup. Congrats.
The hi beat movement is very nice. The second hand is smooth. I’m a little surprised that it isn’t more accurate.
Beautiful watch! You made the right choice.

Superb watch!
Did you get the sla043 from an AD with 35% off?
Yeah I had gotten a discount of around 35 percent on it. The RRP is very high for this watch.
@@sandsoftime3248 from Seiko Melbourne yeah?
@@johnrb9397 Not from the Melbourne boutique, i suggest asking WAMADA Jewellery based in Sydney.

Your eyes ARE playing tricks on you.
It IS a totally aligned Seiko bezel!!
Is this the Engineer Wannabe channel? Just kidding - congrats on the pick up - love this watch.
Thanks for watching. Engineer Wannabe has been an inspiration.
what do you think about SLA037

@@sandsoftime3248 What was your personal gripe? Mine may be thickness...
@@zachscheel3784 It was that the lume was hand applied and was done in a fashion where it looked unappealing.
It's a Seiko mod but it's nice
I’m sure you’ve seen but another Australian you tuber got his regulated by his watch maker and says he is getting 0 secs deviation a day now.

the color of the second hand makes absolutely no sense.

Jesus Christ, the entire video is out of focus.
