Teenagers believe that they are mature for their age. I was like this, my friends were like this and teenagers who answered his adds were also like this. When you are an adult with more experience and power it is your responsibility to avoid children. There was this 19 year old boy who messaged me when I was 14. 10 minutes into the conversation he asked me my age. When he found out, that was the end. I was a little upset and did not understand why he did it, but I thank him from bottom of my heart as an adult.

I can't tell you the times between the ages of 8 and 16 , the number of grown black men that would hit on me. In the neighborhood park, walking to/from school, walking to the corner store,etc... following me in their cars or following me walking trying to catch up to talk to me. Luckily , nothing ever happened to me because I would hurry home when this stuff happened. I'd see them doing it to other girls in the neighborhood, too, every week, if not every day. This was the late 80s and early 90s and we didn't talk about it then because I knew it was creepy. But I didn't view it as pedophilia and a crime because that was not discussed in our community. I can't tell you the times between the ages of 8 and 16 , the number of grown black men that would hit on me. it's not like other men don't notice this. They're actually in plain sight. I see them all the time waiting for the young girls to get out of school. I had to miss work because one kept harassing my daughter when she was 14 at the bus stop just trying to go to school. I confronted him and asked him what was he waiting at the kids bus stop for? From then on I had a neighbor help watch her stand and wait for her bus at 6:45 in the morning (in the dark). I was lucky enough to overhear her mentioned this in a casual conversation with her friend expressing her irritation of the man been there every morning at her bus stop. Sometime it doesn't occur to the girls to address these issues they try to ignore it or handle it on their own. I told my daughters they should always take these matters seriously. Because these guys count on you not saying nothing.
