thank you for sharing!
Thank you for your excellent work!
what’s the music at the beginning?
9:20 I've had my DNA tested. I have ancestors named White. I'm also a 10th great granddaughter of William Bradford. On my dad's dad's side, I'm Scottish and English. Our progenitor can be traced back to the battle at Mistic Fort, and before that, his trail goes cold. I seriously honestly belive his parents were Roanoke colonists. I think they went inland to Connecticut and merged with the Narragansett people, until Major Mason and Miles Standish arrived and formed the Connecticut militia.
The Pequot war started in 1636. My 9th great grandfather was there. There was SO MUCH going on up in Massachusetts at that time, it seems odd there were already white people down in Saybrook.
Just for starters, Major John Bradford and William Backus were founders of Norwich CT. (So was my 9th great grandfather. ) There is a Mason and a Backhouse (which I've seen as alt for Backus,) listed as passenger names on Roanoke expeditions.
I know I'm right on this!
My grandmother always told me growing up that I’m related to the Pilgrims .Perigrine White was one of the names. I remember her telling me.
You’re literally lying
@@wilsonb1121 who’s lying?about what?
@jasonniles8326 I’ve been doing family ancestry lately and I’m pretty sure I remember the name Pergerine White coming up in my line too!
What happened at Roanoke? Settlers got smoked by natives… it’s not that mysterious lol
Where are the remains after smoking
@@Lockhart3XGenZ Bro, idk. Probably eaten by animals since, you know, it was literally an entire continent of forest. So what? You think they built a ship and traveled to Singapore or something? Cmon.
They Assimilated with the native tribes@@Andy_Babb
@@Lockhart3XGenZ maybe some children or women were taken as slaves, but I still think it’s most likely they either died off from famine/disease and/or were wiped out by natives.
If these English settlers only knew that they were giving birth to what would become the most powerful nation in the world.
Genocide tends to make taking over a land a lot easier. Anyone who didn’t convert to European ways (Christianity) or die from European disease, or abide by European laws or agree to whatever Europeans said were sent into slavery. Treaties? Nope. Federal government felt no need to abide by any agreements. Native Americans are still getting screwed by European descendants.
But yeah, “hurray for America” and all that. We can be proud to be American but we still need to strive to do better and be better.
@@Andy_Babbblah blah blah
@@BigDawg-by3ne tell me you’re MAGA without saying it
@@Andy_BabbWelcome to almost every civilization in history you whiner.
@@aucontraire1986 sure, but Europeans did it more… I mean, really, it’s Christianity that’s always been the problem. 2,000 years of probably billions killed at the hands of the church and Christianity as a whole
Are you chronicling this from your 🚽?
