Rancid is maybe the most important band of my life and this is their best album since 2003. Everybody should have And Out Come the Wolves in their collection.
I grew up with Tim and Matt, and had the great pleasure of playing in a few pre OP IVY bands with the both of them while we were all still in high school. It brings me such joy to see them still making such impactful music. Bloody legends the both of them!
Cool man. At this point I feel like Tim and Lars could roll out of bed (guitars already in hand somehow) and write a new punk standard like this while taking their heart pills, feeding the dogs and getting the kiddos ready for school.
I, too grew up with them, though I never was in a band with them. I love that they are an important part of the Gilman punk scene. I still remember Matt playing upright bass in orchestra senior year.

Yeah, Clash... Rancid was very inspired The Clash. They even put out some albums by Joe Strummer on their own label after The Clash disbanded. The song Indestructible was about him.
The “we’re gonna live forever “ line reminds me of a line Tim put in an older track Indestructible “Through music you can live forever.” I think this song is expressing the same sentiment that people will hear your music and ideas hundreds of years after you die and in that way you can live forever

While their music hasn't really 'grabbed' me, they put on a hell of a live show. Saw them at Louder Than Life festival a couple of weeks back and I'd say it was one of the best sets I saw over the 4 days. Punk as it should be, good stuff Rancid.
I’m here to rep their self-titled album from 2000 (commonly called “Rancid 2000” so as to distinguish it from their self-titled 1993 debut). Not to dismiss their 4 previous records, which are all brilliant in their own unique ways, and present a fascinating real-time look at a punk band exploring melody, slower tempos and all manner of non-punk things . But “Rancid 2000” shows that band, having mastered anthemic pop-punk and reggae inflected grooves, circling back around to their punk rock roots and sounding more ferocious than ever. It’s still got some earworms and anthems for the more mainstream-minded folks who’d stuck around since they broke big on MTV, but it’s truly about as savage a hardcore punk rock as the 21st century has yet produced. Cheggitout!
The leading riff sorta reminded me of "St. Jimmy" by Green Day when I first heard it; granted, they're not _that_ similar, but they certainly give off the same vibe. That's not to take away from the brilliance of the song, it's definitely very fun. But as a fan of both GD and Rancid, I couldn't help but make that connection.
Maybe you already know but Billie Joe could have joined Rancid at the start but he did Green Day instead, he wrote the Rancid song ‘Radio’ from the Let’s Go album.

Matt Freeman is the reason I picked up a bass.
Tim Armstrong solo stuff is quite good also
I’m here to rep their self-titled album from 2000 (commonly called “Rancid 2000” so as to distinguish it from their self-titled 1993 debut). Cheggitout!
Love Rancid! Proper punk! 🖤 Their South Park Season 2 episode “Chef Aid” is worth checking out 😂
The leading riff sorta reminded me of "St.
Very Ramones-like! 😎🎸
100% rancid fan, like the transplants also who is lead by Tim Armstrong, drums Travis barker and a Rob doing the hip hop and hard-core parts
