As far as I know and found out there wasn't a basement incident. Bonnie and Joe both don't confirm this. The basement story is coming from Chris Todd who got his information from Erik and Mathew.
Bonnie called the police on Mathew for harassment and I believe Erik too and cut ties with them. It is believed she got spooked and didn't want to stretch the truth. Bonnie does confirm Joe's testimony. However neither one confirm the basement incident. Joe's says everyone was partying and having a good time when Dylan, Danny Rich and a mystery guy show up.
At that point Kurt was so high he couldn't object to them being there and the party went south real fast. Cali was trying to get Joe and everyone else out of the house and saw Kurt go back to the greenhouse with Dylan, Danny and the mystery guy. Joe says Kurt was hiding out and only periodically coming inside to get food. That's about what we know so far

The nanny dude, Courtney's ex bf, he did it. Courtney had him do it. Courtney is a black widow, Kurt was not the first death of a male in her circle. He was the fourth or fifth death of a male friend of Courtney's. If you listen to all the interviews of the people at the time, you can get a clearer perspective of who, of what she is. She knew she could get her hands on Cobain's money and she jumped at the chance. Kurt, in his stupor of fame and drugs, made it easy for them to do it.

I just wanted to say, went to a Nirvana Tribute show the other night at the local skatepark. The musicians had to be no older than 16. They were awesome! And it was a free show. I think it is so neat that generations are loving Nirvana and Kurt. I think it would have made him smile, knowing these kids were sharing his music for free with a small community. ❤

Even if Courtney had no role in Kurt’s untimely death (though it’s difficult to outright dismiss the possibility), it’s evident by numerous different accounts that she was a highly toxic presence in Kurt’s life. Someone who abused him verbally and manipulated him mentally. Was he perfect? No. Did he enable her behavior by keeping her around? Sure. Did he deserve to be mistreated? No.
Courtney had her eyes on Kurt, and it’s my speculation that she intentionally trapped him with a baby. Doing the honorable thing, he married her. He loved her, but most of all he loved his baby. Courtney was exciting to him at first, but I think he got burned out quickly, saw what she was and wanted to end things. Courtney even attests that he wrote her about getting a divorce. It was on his mind for a reason.
Kurt’s alleged suicide letter (genuine question: why was it addressed to his childhood imaginary friend?) reads more like a resignation letter to his fans.
The plane tickets raise other suspicions, too; why would someone planning to end themselves purchase two plane tickets? Kurt himself said not to trust or believe everything we read, and to question the narrative. Why does that not extend to his death when there are so many red flags, and several close to him even question it? I’m likely paraphrasing here, but I felt the quote in Soaked In Bleach was rather poignant: “If you want to get away with murder, kill a junkie.”
Kurt was troubled, struggled with many issues beyond drug addiction, but it seems so lazy to simply dismiss his death as inevitable and accept the ruling uncritically. Despite his somewhat hardened public persona, he seemed emotionally vulnerable and I think Courtney fed off of that. She was the domineering partner who, at times, probably could be really nice. But that still doesn’t negate any form of abuse.
I don’t know if it’s true, it definitely sounds on par for her, but I’ve read that Courtney threatened to take Frances from Kurt, that she would threaten to sleep with [insert anyone’s name], ect. to either upset him or as ultimatum to do what she wanted.
I thought him wearing pajamas to their “wedding” was a sarcastic display of his realization that he might be screwed. Frances Bean was the blessing of course.

I think he really wanted it to work out, particularly for Frances, because of what he went through when his parents divorced.

Even if Courtney wasn’t involved there is no question that he was killed by someone. The investigation was handled so badly. What they say happened is almost impossible. There is almost no way you would be able to shoot yourself in the head with a shotgun

It breaks my heart to think that Kurt endured such abuse for so long from someone who was supposed to be his wife and best friend. It’s devastating to think that, while he was battling addiction and the pressures of fame to be the best father he could be, he had no real support. CL is truly a terrible person. I hope justice is finally served for Kurt. He deserves it, and his daughter deserves to know the truth.

There’s no doubt he was stubborn and addicted. But if we look at his patterns of self destruction, self deprecation, his romanticising trauma it’s almost not surprising at all that he’d be drawn to such a destructive relationship. That’s very very common for people with traumatic childhoods to seek partners as destructive as their upbringing. I personally see his predilection to embellish and describe situations how he felt rather than how they were meant he not only was seeking to relive his trauma but relive how extreme it felt rather than was. CL is/was by all accounts the definition of extreme. So while it black and white seems like a choice, it’s less of a conscious decision than his wiring to repeat what he knows. That’s why one can’t simply just leave DV relationships.
Let me see if I understand this correctly: Kurt Cobain was ambushed with a surprise intervention by Courtney. This happened after Roddy Bottom and Co finally left the Cobain's Lake Washington house. Dylan and Kurt had been shooting up the night before. Kurt had a terse response for everyone who had attended the Intervention. That included his so-called "Best Friend" Dylan Carlson. KC and DC have a big fight. After the intervention, Courtney announces that she is checking in to a Rehab down in California. Kurt doesn't go down there right away. He has to go buy a shotgun before leaving for Exodus.
Kurt goes to a Lake City Gun Shop and persuades DC to buy it for him. Kurt wants to protect his home from intruders, deadbeats, and drug dealers. DC gives Kurt the light gauge shotgun and a big receipt. Kurt hides the gun and catches a flight to California. At the Exodus Treatment Center, Kurt checks in. The gun receipt still in his pocket the whole time. Later in the evening, after talking with Gibby Haines, Kurt jumps the wall at Exodus: he is now considered to be: "On The Run".
Somehow, Kurt gets to the airport and has to extensively convince the ticket agent that he is Kurt Donald Cobain so he could get an airline ticket back to Seattle. Unbeknownst to him, "Cali" DeWitt has Kurt's credit card and other ID information about the rock star. Kurt then boards a plane for Seattle and runs into Michael Duff McKagan in 1st Class. Kurt sits down right next to Duff and the two "war heroes of the rock music world" and MTV fame share their past and present battle scars- then separating and heading home after an early morning landing at Sea-Tac Airport. When Kurt arrives at his own home 45 minutes later, he is not surprised to find Jessica Hopper (a fanzine writer), and Michael "Cali" DeWitt Thornhill (a nanny/pharmaceutical dispenser), both passed out and unaware (sort of) that Kurt had returned home from Rehab. Kurt doesn't stay long.
At this time, he will be declared "Missing" by a hysterical Courtney, who poses as Wendy O'Conner and reports (from California) to the Seattle Police Dept that Kurt is missing, suicidal, and armed with a loaded shotgun. Around the same time (Easter Sunday), CL hires Detective Tom Grant to find out who stole Kurt's credit card.
Five days later, Kurt is found dead in an empty Greenhouse with a glass ceiling, the result of a drug overdose (from the highest amount of Heroin ever recorded) that most likely involved three full syringes of high pure H). A can of Barq's rootbeer spiked with valium was nearby the body, along with a note written in easily traced red pen on a see-thru IHOP menu. Also, it appeared that Kurt had suffered a gun shot to the back of his mouth after he had died of the overdose. Can you believe that the whole time (over an eight day period traveling to California and back),that Kurt Cobain still had the shotgun receipt in his pants pocket? Yeah, it all makes so much sense.

I read a story this guy was in a super market in like 93 sees Kurt shopping, and runs into Courtney, she than stops him and asks him "I'll give you 5 bucks if you go up to kurt and say aren't you the guy from Alice and Chains? And come back and tell me his reaction" so he does it, he said Kurt looked at him with such sadness in his eyes, Kurt asked him "whats your name" so the guy just took off, he instantly felt wrong, Courtney stopped him and asked him what he say? Courtney either killed Kurt or had him killed. Kurt didn’t use heroin until the night they hung out after the Chicago show in October 91. Before then, for Kurt it was codeine, percodan, and maybe oxys. He rarely smoked bud and rarely drank. But once Courtney came along, he started shooting heroin, meth, coke, using benzos, etc. she made it to where Kurt had a three prong hook in him with his addiction rather than a one prong that he could way easier get clean with. Not to mention Courtney was cheating on Kurt and was grooming teenagers and once Kurt realized what she was, he wanted to get as far away from her as he could, especially once she became abusive toward him. She used Frances as bait for Kurt because Kurt would always tag along if he could see Frances. Not to mention Courtney later on got Frances hooked on pills, and sealed oxys to jack osbourne. He seems to have some health issues but he's pretty coherent , most probably sober and definitely honest to me. I don't care about his tatoos as well. I'm sure it means nothing to him and he got them when he was pretty young. No reason to think that Kurt wouldn't hang out with him. Kurt wasn't a saint too! They were all just normal guys. Him talking about how all the bands in the early 90s who were his friends, influenced him to use heroin, and thinking about how it trickled down to us kids at the time...i was around 13 in the early 90s and I idolized hole, Alice in chains, blind melon, Soundgarden on and on.. myself and another girlfriend i knew obsessed with Courtney and all, we started a girl hardcore band and did really well until she ended up in prison.. but both of us ended up addicted to opioids and shes a major mess these days. . im not doing much better, but the point is the influence of those bands, artists and music on our young lives left a lasting, lifelong impact! I've now been dependant on opioids 20 years! Id give anything to go back to 20 and slap the syringe out of my hand! The stupid decisions and mistakes we make in our youth last forever.. i sure wish i picked someone other than Courtney to idolize back then!

Kurt left his kid behind to come home to house full of punks using his space and belongings amongst other things. Were they stealing his possessions to support themselves? Kurt told a cabbie he was burgled, and he stated publicly exactly where he kept a gun in the house for protection and his keys aren't on him. He weighed 135lbs but had multiple pairs of pants on, suggests others were present as he's trying to appear larger than he was. They'd need his keys to open the lock on the gun cabinet.

Nothing...nothing makes sense as a suicide. I tried to find proof that he did kill himself and I just can't find a single detail.

I wonder if Kurt was with her only because of his intense lack of self worth. It's very sad.
