    Given all your previous builds focusing on tanking or massive damage, I would never have guessed you'd play a support character! Having said that, I plan to play Brownfur Transmuter on the lich mythic path to become the master of all with the most powerful undead Gollarion has ever seen!

    I'm level 20 in my azata play through on normal and sometimes companions do go down so I looked at the "buff" they were getting when they hit 1hp and the charges are based on your character level (so 20 charges before they pop, instead of my charisma bonus) I think it might still be buggy but it is possible for them to take enough hits that they go down. When they hit 1HP and lifebonding friendship activates they can't be healed back from 1hp, but at least on normal they don't die at the end of the fight they are just at 1hp. If they do die from the charges going down, they fully die: greyed out character portrait even though death's door is active on my playthrough. They can be rezzed with the spell that doesn't cost diamonds though as long as you get to them straight away.

    I think the life bonding friendship works slightly differently than the text implies: it's not as OP as a free Last Stand for example. Once you hit 0 HP, instead of being unconscious, you instead get Death's Door condition and cannot receive any healing. Even with greater restoration, after the battle ends, you immediately die on Core or above and require a Breath of Life/raise dead/etc to revive. The superpower is good for making tough fights easier but I'm always on edge since you get punished so hard for hitting 0 HP. I've lost Aivu/Arue so many times because you need to baby sit every one of your companions even in "easier" encounters or you'll burn a lot of diamonds on resurrections. The teamwork feats are amazing tho.

    • @bolshyplays1733

      You can't heal them back up after they go to negative hp? That's unfortunate. I guess that will give me incentive to keep my party at high hp. Thanks for the info!

      @@bolshyplays1733 I've never been able to heal a "fallen" party member to stable HP in my playthrough so far. This is one of the issues with theorycrafting builds. While they do look cool on paper, you don't really know how actually playing them is going to be. Will they be viable on every level or are you gonna hit a brick wall because the scaling just isn't there?
      This build is probably not aimed at unfair/hard which makes the above less relevant I guess

    • @AlacrityTW
      @AlacrityTW 2 роки тому

      @@pazgaz7 You make it sound like no build works on unfair when even pure companions can beat the hardest bosses with the right tactics ua-cam.com/video/dij8_A7ohgo/v-deo.html

    • @pazgaz7
      @pazgaz7 2 роки тому

      @@AlacrityTW there are many builds that can work. If you go with pure companions (and by pure I mean not doing 15 dips, but staying true to the spirit of the char) unfair will be a lot harder. This game is luck based, you can theoretically win every fight with enough reloads no matter the build. A main char that's healing mid fight for (even if it's for 50 per round per character) is not going to keep up with the damage you take on unfair consistently, so you're back to reloading.
      Regarding that vid, it's a really good way to get playful darkness, but that's one fight and tbh you can just skip it and come back in act 5 🙂

    I love support characters! I played a Dirge Bard tank going Azata for my first run, and gave everyone in the party that I could an animal companion or some kind of summoning without totally busting their roleplay aspect wide open or anything. Seelah was a mounted charger, I made Wenduag a Mad Dog with throwing weapons, Ember a summoner, etc. It was very fun, especially because companions and summons count for Life-Bonding Friendship!

    • @bolshyplays1733
      @bolshyplays1733  2 роки тому

      Very cool party concept. I don't want to micromanage all of those pets so I'm just going to go with mounted seelah and the MC's pet. The other added perk of this build is all those animal companions and summons also get to add my charisma bonus on all of their saves! Should make for some very tough pets

    • @beanznkarnbread
      @beanznkarnbread 2 роки тому

      @@bolshyplays1733 I was pleasantly surprised with animal companion scaling this time around, compared to Kingmaker! I don't know how much it's changed or anything, but it felt a lot less annoying to keep them alive lategame in this one. I had Daeran filling the bonus-to-saves role in my party with Second Mystery, and it is totally killer. I hope you enjoy Azata! I loved the plotline a lot.
      Oh also, fun thing, Velociraptor is bugged (I think) and makes a great DPS pet. It gets 8 attacks at 15th Level and beyond, since both of its Talons gain iterative attacks. So it has Talon #1 (3 Attacks), Talon #2 (3 Attacks), Bite, and Claw. I gave it to Wenduag so they'd both be firing off a million attacks per round and let me tell you, it was a meat grinder.

    Oh I love Divine Herbalist! RP as well as mechanics. You can, if you truly wanted even higher Charisma actually use half-elf and go Kindred which for some reason allows you to bypass the 20 max initial attributes and put it at 21 (or 22 if you wanna waste points lol), a small extra bonus but an interesting bonus. Once we get patch 1.2 I'm replaying as a Divine Herbalist so will be fun to watch how you handle it with your playthrough which I'm going to start to watch now.

    • @bolshyplays1733
      @bolshyplays1733  2 роки тому +1

      I had a lot of fun with it. I'm currently in late act 5 and at level 20 as a nature/life oracle you get a million immunities as well as dragon form III so my healing halfling has turned into an untouchable plant/dragon tank with 80+AC.
      It's been a fun ride but I would suggest building towards something other than just healing during the midgame because you can feel useless for big chunks of the game if all you can do is heal. I took dazzling display so that I could weaponize my high charisma through intimidation so I had something to do when the party didn't need heals

      @@bolshyplays1733 Thanks, that's a good tip. :D I was thinking to go into summoning more heavily as I rarely do that. I'm just going to play on Core so anything should be reasonable. I definately don't want to just hang back and look out for the party though, so might find a way to make the most out of the Azata spells, more offensively. I guess there's always some nice divine damage spells too to rely on.

    Awesome video as always man, so glad you did a healer/support video as those are hard to come by. I've been following since you put out your "deathknight" build and I had a question. Is there a way to build a enhancement shaman similar to Wow with more healing? I was thinking a Spirit hunter shaman for the weapon buffs into cleric for a support role who can still fit the fantasy of enhancement.

    • @bolshyplays1733
      @bolshyplays1733  2 роки тому

      Spirit Hunter is pretty good but honestly I like the base shaman better for wandering spirit. Shaman is not a class you want to dip out of too much because you lose spell progression and spirit abilities. I was messing with a wow inspired dwarf shaman, but dual wielding is hard on a shaman due to the feat requirements and low BAB.

    Just a heads up that Life Link is (still) bugged, just not in the way it was bugged before. If I understand correctly it works as it should until you go through some kind of load screen. Once you've done that the target of the life link takes the 5 damage instead of the caster (so the target heals for 5 and then takes 5 damage). Also, instead of your oracle level increasing the number of instances of life link you can have active at one time it increases the number of times you can use it per day.
