I flew my last F27 8/07 MIA to Jamaica. I just love seeing everyone doing the Fokker salute (fingers covering the ears). I'm honored to have taken my first bite flying a real turboprop... Good video, thanks.!!
My first ever flight as a kid was to the Isle of Man on a BIA Dart Herald and we lived on the approach path to Leeds-Bradford airport which had almost constant Viscount traffic. Sound will stay with me forever.
I used to ride on these F27s back in the day on Aloha Airlines. The engines did scream but if you are a passenger, what a view from the oval windows and the high wing configuration. Also, I used to like watching the landing gear retract and drop down.
Aaaah love 'em Fokker Friendships. We used to have 'em in Australia, in TAA and Ansett livery. Not anymore, cept a few private ones. Flew in one once many years ago. Beautiful craft. And the noise 'em turbojet props make, sooo sexy!!
The Dart song will stay forever in my minds, remembering the old F-27 of the French Postal air service taking-off in the morning at Brest airport and also the old Breguet 1050 'Alizé' who got a screeching particular sound during take-off as they use water-injection on their Dart. Kick off those PT-6 and make the Dart and Tyne runing again !
Of course not , they're a propeller-jet, a close friend of mine used to work for ANSETT-Airlines of Australia, he was the head ground Engineer & Qualified Air craft tester & used to tell me that their air speed was a lot faster than normally stated.
Awesome. The RR Dart is the best sounding aero engine ever (Merlin excepted... possibly). Elemental stuff. You are left in no doubt that these babies have fire in their bellies. Just when you think they can't shriek any higher, or louder, they go up a couple of gears.
It was also the one and only aircraft that I have ever flown on. Would love to see a period picture with number. I took my family when I competed in the I O M. road races.
Only missing is the roaring sound of the engine. Please upload the roaring sound of the British rolls royce dart engine next time I will be really grateful to you.

Excellent Sound!
I love the sound of a Rolls Royce Dart. Even if they're in a F27 or a Viscount

I used to fly on them in the late 80's early 90's when East-West Airlines & Ansett Australia were still operating them, long live prop- Jet power!.

You just don't hear aircraft with that beautiful scream these days. Gisborne was the airport for me as a kid. Go the Fokker

Excellent contribution! That sound is simply music...quite a contrast to the more modern turboprops! NSA66 right on with the shriek comment haha.
