Thanks man. That helped. Ive been looking at video after video to see which way my HVAC blade spins cause i didnt look before i pulled it off. This helped
Allways scratch a mark on the top side of the blade to make re-installation easier. use a knife or screwdriver to scratch the blade with a " X " for top or front. Or u can use a " F " or a " T " . Makes Life a Whole lot Easier ! Do not use a Marking pen as that can Wash Off When Cleaning the Fan Blade.
My evaporator fan went out. I had some old ones from other junk fridges. Put one on and the fan blade was not as curved as the old one and was intermittently making noise as it rubbed against the plastic fan shroud. I replaced it with the original blade and then had the problem of the blade running in the wrong direction clockwise and not counterclockwise as the original apparently had. So it was not blowing air out into the freezer. It only has two hot wires and a ground,. I reversed the hot wires thinking this would reverse the spin direction but it still ran clockwise. So then went to my junk fans and found one with a blade that was curved in the opposite direction of the original. That solved the problem. Some of these motors run counterclockwise and some clockwise and blades are also designed for that application. So if your replacement fan is not blowing air into the freezer compartment and you can not reverse the spin you can solve it with the right fan blade.
Question: my motor turns CW, when shaft is pointed toward you, what fan blade do I want to have the fan blowing away from the motor towards the shaft, CW OR CCW? THANKS!
you could reverse motor rotation , but then air would not be pulled in condenser front and blowing over compressor to cool compressor. it would work, but u are now grabbing air from in front of compressor and pushing it through rear of condenser and out the front of the condenser. no compressor cooling. it would work but, it's NOT correct.
And the ccwise if it’s spinning in the wind either from hanging out a car window Mother Nature or from the backdraft of another fan either diagonal next to it or above or under from another fan blade. And either exactly like it the same style size the same style and size but different number of blades the same number of blades and style but different size different style and size or same size and different style
Did you ever find out how your blade broke? Inherited a non working attic fan, pulled the motor out and hello jammed blade. Replacing motor and blade as they are vintage 1989...
Air spoons!
Exactly.

Great explanation. Thank you.
You are welcome!
A clear simple explanation...Thanks to the gent that made it.
thanks. that was me.
Thank you! I took the fan off my humidifier to clean it, then wasn’t sure which way it needed to go back on.

When u are looking down at condenser from above and it's spinning ccw
...is that cw or ccw?

yep.
thanks so much
my turn the other way from right to left
👍
Thanks bro
Welcome
Great tip QUESTION
HOW DO YOU REMOVE SET SCREWS FROM UPSIDE DOWN CONDENSER BLADES LIKE HEAT CRAFTS
Thank you
use a Long t-Handle allen key. get one about 9-12" long. available in any Hvac supply house.
You’re referring to LEAD END . If that fan clock wise right
Excellent
Thanks
I usually can tell by the direction because most fans do t usually don’t spin backwards except for some axils babe fans or that other kind of fan

I've been using map gas to heat the hub, they all come off like butter😁
wd 40 works good too.
Love
What if you have a reversible motor, would you have to turn the blade around or could you just reverse rotation?
you could reverse motor rotation , but then air would not be pulled in condenser front and blowing over compressor to cool compressor. it would work, but u are now grabbing air from in front of compressor and pushing it through rear of condenser and out the front of the condenser. no compressor cooling. it would work but, it's NOT correct.
Does the hub face you or the. Motor?
Does not matter. Only thing that matters is rotation of blade. Blade must scoop air.

no. They just get old and crack sometimes.
what about made in china blades?
Oh Those are Special , After Chinese New Year You Have to Remove Blade and Replace it. They disintegrate after that.
