CORRECTION: It seems there is 1 onboard memory profile according to Razer's store page for the mouse, and RTINGS. I still do not see the onboard memory options in Synapse but it is 200 percent possible I am just dumb. Thanks to Ian Huang for letting me know in the comments!
For the button settings a key binds there is onboard memory so you can program your side buttons an your computer with synapse and use those same settings on other computers. Unfortunately the RGB color settings don't have onboard memory which I learned the hard way with the v3 pro.
2 months later this is still the only full review I can find for the V3 X. Thanks to you I've decided to go for the wired one since it has 5 onboard profiles and new scroll wheel with tilt!
for those who bought the v3x, i will tell you the battery dies very quickly with the dongle, and the numbers are inaccurate in the video. The bluetooth will give you around 280 hours while the dongle will give you about 100. the bluetooth is also laggy under load, so for everyday use, use the blueooth, but for gaming use the dongle. I bought the mouse brand new myself at the beginning of december 2023, and im writing this in january of 2024. i ahve already changed the battery. it is best to buy a pack of AAs when you get the mouse. Energizer batteries have the longest life in my findings.
My wife has been using this since I reviewed it and what you say sounds about right. Using the dongle, her battery dies fairly often. Something i unfortunately didn’t discover when making the video.
My friend maybe u tried , but a tip is to try and use more high quality batteries , I am not sure what u use and I still haven't received my product , but I presume using higher quality batteries will lead to longer life, I hope it's helped if it needed solving of course :)
Rechargable battery does exist. I have logitech mouse use rechargable battery for a year already, just same two battery never buy new one yet. Get about 1800mah battery, it will last longer than onboard battery of other mouse.
I personally love heavy mice for my shooters. Idk why just never liked the honeycomb super light weight ones. Just ordered one of these excited to try it out.
Man it's such a hard choice I think it depends rlly. I love my razer cobra pro for cod but I have a naga pro that's larger and it's rlly good for apex with small adjustments
I have both the new V3 X and older Ultimate and i actually prefer the main buttons on the Ultimate even though opticals usually feel worse, but on the Ultimate in particular they feel very well implemented and tactile. Definitely a preference thing though! I have sound tests of both on my channel which you might have seen.
I much prefer using my own Eneloop AA batteries than whatever crappy lithium they would have paired with it that would eventually die out anyway. Def a big reason to get this.
Hey! So i had one for 3 Months and... there are problems. If you want to buy this mouse: Just don't! In 3 months of light use the left click is given up (left click releases while the button is still pressed down). But in that 3 months is had constant issues of: -Razer program being buggy (its running, but it isn't working and you cannot open it, you have to kill all of the 30+ razer prcesses to be able to start it again) -The mouse disconnecting randomly -The hypershift button is default on after connecting it(even after the connection drops), and it needs a couple of clicks to realize it isn't pressed. -The connection being unstable (~10cm distance between the mouse and dongle, i use it with my notebook), so the cursor randomly skips. -The battery time being significantly lower than advertised (half to third the time with good batteries, tenth with cheaper ones with lights off, lowest polling rate). Furthermore: The warranty is something better to forget outside of the US, their customer service is only reachable on a US phone number, and literally nowhere else. (No e-mail, no ticketing system, no chat, they only have a forum, but the customer service doesn't actively read it, so its basically just talking to a brick wall).
Thanks for the review. I really don't like the Logitech G502 x versions , and I cant justify the cost for the Basilisk V3 pro. This could perhaps be the sweet spot. I still have a battery powered G602 since forever. (But is starting to fall apart)
I love this mouse, I use this productivity on Mac and pairing this with SteerMouse, and adjusting the scroll sensitivity and acceleration, it has become my main mouse. It's so fast and light and more ergonomic compared to MX Master series. I added grip tape and it's fabulous.
I have the previous model and the v3 pro and I much prefer the hyperspeed. The battery life is absolutely insane, I purchased the hyperspeed in July of 2022 and I use it every day at work on my macbook pro m1 in bluetooth mode and I've only had to recharge my battery 3 times and I get around 8 hours of use per day. The v3 pro I have to charge every other day.
Have you had any luck finding a way to modify the keys on the mouse? I can't change the thumb button and the middle button behind the scroll wheel. I found out how to change the middle button using an external app but nothing else allows me to do that.
@@pratiknaikedu I had to download the Razr synapse app on my old windows laptop and I was able to edit and add key bindings there which carried over to my Mac. The button behind the scroll wheel I believe can only be used to toggle through your set sensitivity settings. The thumb button I don’t use given I came from the previous version which didn’t have that button and I use the two side by side buttons for copying and pasting. I can’t remember if I had to register it as a new mouse when I set it up but I would make sure the version of the firmware is up to date and you shouldn’t have any issues.
@@JustinPoIson That's great news! I ended up downloading SteerMouse and I was able to re-program the side buttons and also adjust the mouse acceleration and sensitivity amounts for scrolling. I am going to get my hands on a Windows device to at least diable to RGB scroll wheel if possible along with the additional thumb button (that I couldn't do either via SteerMouse). Thanks for the response and confirmation! This was a very specific problem lol
@@pratiknaikedu no problem, I’ll have to look into that for my Mac. Synapse is pretty cool for the v3 pro because you can create your own color patterns and themes. I much prefer the hyper speed though because of the removable battery which lasts so much longer, I just use some rechargeable ones that I rotate out. If one of your friends has a pc and you can get synapse on it you can key bind your buttons and they will transfer over but any led patterns you make will not and synapse has to be running to be able to use them.
It looks like, at the time of writing, this - and it's older version Basilisk X Hyperspeed (without V3) - are the ONLY two mice models left on this planet which are: 13 cm or more, wireless-dongled and AA-powered. ChatGPT 4 wasn't actually able to find any. So get this one folks, it's the finale of an era, it appears :)
Quick tip. U can bind all the hyper shift buttons to the normal funtion of that button to functionally disable hyper shift. If I hold hyper shift and hit mouse 4 or 5 it would tab me out of overwatch which is infinitely frustrating for someone who never even wanted "hyper shift." Ive power cycled my pc and mouse and it kept my custom setting without synapse running. Not sure why that doesn't work w the rgb but whatever. I like the shape of this mouse but after owning the older model which had connectivity issues and now this one with functionally uncustomizable rgb, all I really like about Razer is the shape of this mouse.
As long as your computer has Bluetooth then yes. Just keep in mind you will have some input lag and a lower polling rate on Bluetooth, so if you’re using it for fast paced games, Bluetooth isn’t exactly recommended
the only thing that is stopping me from getting this mouse is that it has mechanical switches vs the optical one in the DeathAdder V2 Pro. But the V2 is a lot older
I've had a few wireless gaming mice in the past and it's always been the same problem, if you play a lot and the mouse suddenly dies in the game you'll throw a tantrum, that's why I would never buy a wireless mouse for gaming . For normal use, not having a cable nearby is fine and dandy, but for gaming it's a no-no for me. I have the Basilisk but with cable and its a great mouse , now im thinking to get the same one for backup 😉
I just bought this mouse bc I was using a $19 amazon mouse, which was working great but then one of the switches seemed sticky or unresponsive at times. I’m hoping this mouse will feel like a big upgrade. I do have a question though. Are there benefits to using Bluetooth vs the 2.4 dongle? Is one faster or more responsive than the other?
The dongle is going to have better latency and responsiveness and will be recommended for gaming but at the expense of less battery life. Bluetooth lasts longer but is not as reliable as a dongle
thanks for doing a review on this mouse. i was surprised to see no one has really talked about it much so far, i imagine Razer kinda released it under the radar?
Hey I bought the V3 X Hyperspeed, it was so cheap that I'm willing to risk it, the V3 Pro is 3 or 4 times more depending on adding the dock or not, in my region. A couple of questions for you, what style grip do you have and was it comfortable for you? Have you used this mouse regularly since this video and any further thoughts? How many times have you changed the battery on it?
I mainly used a relaxed palm grip with this mouse and it was quite comfortable. I gave this particular mouse to my wife to use at work and she loves it, but she has had to change the battery 3 times since. This is with 40 hours of use per week.
Nice review dude! Been looking at this because I like heavy mice, but I really need 3 thumb buttons. Can you reprogramme the button that switches profiles?
I guess I was wrong 🤔. I couldn’t find anything about it to confirm and assumed there wasn’t because I didn’t see anything in Synapse but I do see onboard memory for the Ultimate. Thanks for the heads up!
My wife has been using it since I made this video and the only problem she has is the battery life. Even with lighting off, using it for work 8 hours a day she goes through batteries probably once a month. So not terrible but annoying for sure
The problem with this mouse is that you can't attach a cable to it. If you bring this mouse with you and the batterij runs out and you don't have a battery one you, then you can't use it.
Question. Has anyone till now experienced any connectivity issue with the mouse? My Basilisk x hyperspeed is the perfect mouse minus the fact that it disconnects often. Taking the dongle off and connecting it back has to be the most annoying thing I do on a daily to use this mouse. However, the shape is soooo good I am tempted to spend money on this one as well
idk if im too late but i had the first one and it doesnt even connect anymore which everyone says happens to them too but nobody says anthing bad abt this one
V3 is a good mouse but I hate the button on the side it’s so annoying because I grip my dumb there and I didn’t see it from the pic at Walmart when I bought it
this was a good review, ive been loving my 100$ ultimate, but one complaint i have is the battery life. It just seems like im having to charge it daily; granted i like to keep the rgb lights bright so that means constantly at 80-100% brightness. When it gets low battery, only the scroll wheel illuminates, and it will just blink red. Now, If im constantly on a low battery mouse with the constant annoying task of charging it daily, i might as well be using a battery operated 35$ hyperspeed lol (seen em on a sale down from 40$ at Walmart just yesterday). Your pretty much just paying for the side and razer symbol itself to glow with rgb by buying the ultimate, at 65$ more once shipping and taxes are done. Because of this constant charging annoyance, i will be adding a hyperspeed to my arsenal.
As long as you use the dongle the latency shouldn’t really be an issue. I have been having a problem with battery life though, even with RGB off, have had to change batteries two or three times since making this video. Not a huge deal but seems faster than expected
i have the deathadder V2X which i got for 30€ , i'm really interested in the Basilisk v3X but that 79.99€ price is not justified.. especially when you can get the Basilisk Ultimate or Deathadder V2 P for the same price. i'm going to wait for the price to come down a bit (around 39.99€ ~ 49.99€ ) before buying it. I really liked the Basilisk Ultimate i had , especially the shape which was perfect for me in FPS.
Great review, lots of good information - with regards to the weight whilst I do understand what you are saying - it's nto that heavy - I ask you, play 10 games of Valorant TDM for 10 days (of your choice I am not saying in a row!) that's 100 matches total, Valorant TDM ('replace' with absolutely NO OTHER game or mode - NOT DM - NOT CS). Talk about weight again and I in earnest will be interested.
Thx for sharing. I just got mine and wanted something smooth operationally and versatile for design work. I might have to go outside now, maybe get a few tiny weights to hold my mouse down
I picked one up on eBay new sealed box for 30.00 i picked it up up for a backup I think a better choice for the price is an ASUS ROG Gladius III Wireless AimPoint Gaming Mouse, Connectivity (2.4GHz RF, Bluetooth, Wired), 36000 DPI Sensor, 6 programmable Buttons, ROG SpeedNova, Replaceable switches, Paracord Cable for 79.99

Cool, I like heavy gaming mice and Razer coz' they are the father of gaming peripherals and I want to honor Razer for that. I wish all mice would just the Hyperscroll as standard. God bless.
Black shark v2 pro 2023 edition is looking nice. Been pretty disgusted with razer outside the blackwidow v4 pro and basilisk v3 pro. Legit wanted to go full razer but the mics SUCK the headsets sucked all the other keyboards were meh. V4 won out only for hyper shift and customization.
idk but ultimate when it came out was 160$ and it was at that price until recent 3-4 months, its fantastic in FPS games, prob best mouse, idk bout v3. Saw it at microcenter idk i might get it ...
My wife has been using this for work now and she’s had to change the battery probably once a month. She just switched to rechargeable batteries and so far so good
The Basilisk is the tried n true weightier mouse recommended for years. While that’s good, a new mouse is needed for choice for consumers 🥰👍😇. I personally main an Orochi V2 which, for me, is a great mouse to use 😇🤤👍💪. Considering what goes into these ‘high end’ mouses today ($120-200) …. They shouldn’t be retailing for more than $80 period!🤯😵.

Cool, I like heavy gaming mice and Razer coz' they are the father of gaming peripherals and I want to honor Razer for that.
I wish all mice would just the Hyperscroll as standard.
God bless.
Thanks for explaining what the big side button does for a complete mnk noob.
Ay i played you in Diablo 4! The druid looks just like you!
Yoooo awesome lol
They said let’s make a G502 with less buttons
I lost my dongle for this what do I do?
Your best bet may be to contact Razer directly
Black shark v2 pro 2023 edition is looking nice. Been pretty disgusted with razer outside the blackwidow v4 pro and basilisk v3 pro. Legit wanted to go full razer but the mics SUCK the headsets sucked all the other keyboards were meh. V4 won out only for hyper shift and customization.
I've never once worn a good razer headset, and I'm a razer fan boy.
idk but ultimate when it came out was 160$ and it was at that price until recent 3-4 months, its fantastic in FPS games, prob best mouse, idk bout v3. Saw it at microcenter idk i might get it ...
Idk idk idk idk but idk
Question:if i dont buy the pro version can i use rechargeable batteries? And also whats the usege time?(ill sub if anyone plz responds)
My wife has been using this for work now and she’s had to change the battery probably once a month. She just switched to rechargeable batteries and so far so good
Got the v3 pro and still use it wired like a tool bag. Synapse is so garbage. If synapse worked a naga 3 way would be end all.
They shouldn’t be retailing for more than $80 period!🤯😵.
the emojis 💀🗿
about to buy this mouse fotr 44$. times are pretty great.
If it had infinite scroll i would buy it.
too bad the rgb isn't as good as the v3 pro, and no infinite scrolling. if razer makes a v3 pro powered by removable battery, I will buy it. I refuse to buy rechargable mice because they suck.
Too much rgb makes the battery die faster
@@Jaykurosakii who cares? I can replace the battery in 2 seconds
@@ProAvgeek6328 1. Protecting environment shits
2. Rechargeable battery help distributing weight better
@@oliverjames8580 I don't get how rechargable battery has better weight distribution, batteries get recycled anyways
the logo does not light up?
Nope, the logo is etched on to the removable battery compartment.
@@Portly Actually kinda like that. It's discreet and not obnoxious like how razer normally is haha
@@rektyrektingson4668 agreed lol
I found mine at a bin store for 5$ lol so i was very lucky and its amazing.
No you did not.. you found a cheap knockoff 😂
@@Mikael-jt1hk no joke was real worked in software and everything verified serial numbers as well
@@Mikael-jt1hk I did I didn't expect it but the second I plugged it in the software saw the mouse and verify the serial numbers and I was like wow.
30-40$ extra for an rgb scroll wheel? Seriously?
Newer sensor, better build quality, better feet than the older model.
i bought it lol at best buy todayy
it has infinite scroll
The V3 does, but not the V3 X reviewed in this video
Damn dude you sound and look like VeganGains if he wasnt vegan 😂
its 2023 already, how is it still not rechargable? such a turn off for me
jesus
Why is a mouse review 10 minutes long 😂
The best review!
