The whole adventure has been amazing and doing it in an older classic van just made it even better, my personal favorites are central America but seeing you go through my personal stomping grounds of southern California was great and going all the way into Alaska was icing on the cake.
This feels like the end of an epic story. Thank you for sharing this adventure. Things like national geographic are cool & all but there are few human touch & connection which make them feels detach. This is truly something special & feels genuine. God i want more. please do another adventure series.
I literally started crying after watching this series. Thank you so much for working so hard and showing us, what it means to not give up. I was raped in my high school days and many things happened. Your videos helped me to not give up on life and start from the scratch again. Thank you. I cannot probably express my gratitude in proper words, but your videos help a lot of people out there. Please keep on making them. Thank you. ❤️
Ben and Leah... I've watched this adventure unfold for a while now, and you never fail to exceed expectations. You are the inspiration that most of us look for, and have explored in ways most people only dream of. I hope that one day soon I will be able to make my trip to Alaska, but until then, thank you for all of your work and accomplishments. Sincerely, A fellow traveler.
I’m going to cry seeing you guys live the dream I want so bad is heartbreaking. I’m working hard to be able do this someday soon! Thank you for taking us along your journey, it has been truly breathtaking :)
dylan scronce Sorry, maybe when your girls get a bit older you can take them on summer adventures with you. Obviously, I do not know your circumstances but maybe it will be fun you and them. A different way to experience life through eyes of young ones.
Thank you! Such a great adventure. So upbeat in the face of adversity. Please someone hire them to roam the world, narrating adventures with friendly locals on a permanent basis!
I grew up in Valdez but didn't kayak the glacier pond until I returned at the age of 41. There's more natural beauty around that town than any other place I've ever been.
I been watching this series since it began, and it literally brings tears to my eyes. It is now finally over. Thanks for all the videos and letting us enjoy this journey with you.
Ben, I came across your series right about the time you got stuck in the mud and stumbled across a couple babes in far north Colombia. I went back and binge watched the entire thing up til then. Then my life changed a bit and I lost touch with your series. I came back right when you posted the first visa denied episode in the long break between seasons 4 and 5. I was so amazed that you had made it as far as you had but also scared that you would not be able to finish. It's great to see you and Leah getting through that and finishing the whole journey. I am humbled by you accomplishment and will be forever envious of the life you live. Season 5 exceeded every expectation, and I am so glad you were able to share it with us. What started as a way for a guy to share his travelogue with his family from half a world away, turned into something worthy of being picked up by the Travel Channel or PBS's Globetrekker. I can't wait to see your next adventure, and if you guys are ever in Denver and need a bed, it would be my honor to give you the basement for as long as you need it
It saddens me to see the episodes coming to an end. What an epic journey. Great style of clips. Wonderful landscapes and experiences you've shown. It's an inspiration and I'm glad you guys fought till the end. Go big or go home. You sure as hell went big. Thanks to you guys and Alaska for making me chase my dreams. Let's hope you continue onto another journey. Thanks to all of u. Stay safe
Ben, I have just spent he last few days catching up form the very beginning of your amazing adventure. What a trip full of wonderful memories and a brill bunch of people. Cant believe how many problems you had with Copito. Thank you for all these great videos, it has brightened up my dull lockdown days. Love, Love, Love Alaska, she is the best travelling dog in the world. Wishing you and Leah all the best for the future and hope you get back to travelling soon
The Baja Diary's videos have always been my favorite, but this one has blown me away,i don't think i have seen you so happy in life and enjoying your adventure to the fullest. It does help to have the best 2 travel companions of all time.I have been following your travels for years and this video brings a great end to your epic journey. Happy Travels.
I can relate. I had my leg crushed in a work accident that resulted in permanent nerve damage/RSD, so I don't get around so well these days. These UA-cam travel videos allow me to experience the world from my laptop.
Well i hope we will get better :) I hope doctor soon will know whats wrong with me and my leg and fix it after that i invite You all to tea in Poland near awesome castle :D upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/52/Ogrodzieniec_zamek_2.jpg/1200px-Ogrodzieniec_zamek_2.jpg Offcourse if Youre doing some eurotrip in future (that would be great!) :D
This has been the most extraordinary adventure and I have drank in and enjoyed ever single moment!!! Thank you for taking me along on the adventure of a lifetime......I have loved it!!!!🥰♥️🥰
I don’t know why Netflix hasn’t picked you up and given you your own show! I just watched “Expedition Happiness”, and although I did enjoy it, they’ve got nothing on you guys!
I am not sure if you remember those Lonely Planet videos with Ian Wright and Justine Shapiro? I guess they don't make those any longer but I could totally see you guys doing that kind of work.
To be honest, I think UA-cam is a much better place for the series like this. It is made with freedom in mind, and they can do it as they like, with the right pace.
I am so sad!!! I have learned so much watching your videos. You guys let us see places most of us will never get to visit. It was like We were there with you. Looking forward to seeing what your new adventure will be. Adventure is in your blood. Watching your videos gave us courage to buy a van. We started taking summer and fall off. To live in our van while we see the beautiful USA. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I was hoping so much you guys would make it to Valdez on this trip. I've spent every summer of my life in Alaska, the last 10 years in Valdez and it would have been criminal for you two and Alaska to miss out on the beauty of. I still remember being blown away my first time driving through Keystone Canyon back when I was only 9. Thank you for showing me so much more of the state I have always considered my second home. Stay amazing
Congratulations on such an AMAAAAZZING journey. Of all the vanlife channels, you guys definitely deserved the support you were given. An excellent production from two very worthwhile individuals...and a cute pup. Good luck on your next adventure.
thanks, this series was a lot of hard work, and it wouldn't have been possible without support from the viewers, we were blessed to be able to create Hasta Alaska
This was the hardest episode for me to watch. I'm so glad beyond words the three of you have completed the goal set out years in the making, and yet this episode left me on the edge of tears. The end of the ultimate adventure. Based on my own experiences, I could only begin to grasp how difficult this end will be for you. Maybe you guys are ready to be done, but I don't think that's what you're feeling, having been on the edge for a large chunk of your adult lives. You'll need something new, something big, to fill the gap... I hope your next adventure can live up to your last. Good luck to you guys, always.
hands down one of the greatest series I've ever seen. Can't wait to start my own adventure. Good luck to whomever wins the kombi, hope they give it the life it deserves, seeing the world.
The Valdez Glacier is an amazing and historic place. It was the route of the gold rush of 1897/98. The ever changing caves certainly demand respect as well as a knowledge of their dynamics. Very dangerous. Glad you had a guide and were able to experience the area.
Thank you for your adventure its been beautiful all around my grandpa joe a Native American called qoquille indian tribe did lots of fishing in Alaska in the 60s and 70s.thank you again keep in touch.....x
I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THE VW.I just want to thank you, sharing a incredible story thruw the longest road. I watched every episode. What a giant warmed spirit your videos have brought to my desire to travel the world. Thank you a lot for putting so much effort to sharing your last couple years.
Your adventure is so epic that ...... I am just going to watch it all again, and again. You really need your own T.V. show your videos, and adventures are so much better than the realty T.V. crap we have on British T.V.
Yes, the Alaska trip is the very best of all the trips, hands down! Now I really want to go more than ever, how inspiring is this video! Thank you so much for the footage! 🎥📽📷📸📹🛶🚣♀️🚣♂️⛵🛫✈⛴
I am in awe. You do a tremendous job of capturing the scenes and the moments. I just have to pause to commend you on the awesome filming and editing; there is not much else to say other than this episode gave me that tingly sensation in my toes where I think "wow, isn't the world an amazing place". Thank you for reaffirming my passion to explore and see our planet!
This is freaking amazing!!!!!!!!! I watched every single episode in awe and amazement. Whoever gets the Kombi, yall gon have to be super grateful to get a machine that's been through literally EVERYthing! So sad the adventures are ending!
The world is so vast and big and you guys have probably only ventured to one part of it. Despite how amazing this American road trip is , i have a feeling this is the start of many more amazing trips around the world.
Woehooo, what an AMAZING experience / episode. Canoeing into a glacier is just beyond. WOW, congratulations and thanks for sharing. I'm more than inspired.
What a great way to finish your journey. I have watched the whole series over the last month and it has been nothing short of awesome. Thank you for sharing it and good luck with what ever your next adventures are. 👍👏🏴
You guys deserve so much recognition for your work! Your videos are some of the most well produced travel videos I've seen. So fun and crammed full of neat information! Love em all
Going to miss your videos so much… By far the best thing I’ve ever seen on UA-cam… What an amazing story and an amazing life adventure.. Good luck guys
Gave me goosebumps and a lump in my throat. It's a bit sad to see it all come to an end. Yet what great ending to a great adventure. Thanks for taking us all along for the ride.
I wasn't known to this kind of Advantures and what Is the point of it since I live in Iraq "home of terrorism and death"!! But since I moved 2 years to Africa and meeting travelers, boom I just woke up to a new thing in my life! Since I'm watching your whole Advantures starting from chili to the edge of the world I got that passion of having such life! We all do live once and I'm gonna make it worth! Your van is attached to my soul somehow and I really wish to have it! there are many people out there inspired by your journey, thanks mate. Cheers from north Iraq
Gracias por compartir la aventura, fue emocionante e inspirador seguirlos en su trayecto hasta Alaska. Su produccion excelente, muy profesional. Sigan adelante con nuevos proyectos!
Thank you for letting us share your travels, it has been such an exciting journey The quality and content has been superb and I wish the 3 of you success in your travels through life
I for one loved all your videos on UA-cam. Use should buy a sail boat yacht and now sail around the world. With a boat you can go to some amazing places places you never thought of going to. Iver way I wish you both the best in what ever you choose to do next in life. Thank you for taking us all on your adventures & sharing your experiences with us all ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌏🌍🌏🌍🌏🌍🌏🌍🌏🌍☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️ ⛵️
It's sad to see your adventures come to the end. I must have found your channel early on, maybe while you were still in Central America and have watched your journey since. Thanks for the awesome journey and can't wait to see where you guys go next!
I am so glad to see you achieve your goal of reaching Alaska! I just want to say thank you to you and everyone who made the journey with you. You have inspired me to Explore this great big world of ours. I will be taking a year to travel the world as much as I can. I don't know where ill be going....I am going to see where the winds take me. Wishing you the best! -John
Its a hard choice but this episode might be the most amazing, solely because of the ice cave. It looked like you were inside of a jewel. I admire your adventurous. Can't wait to see who gets the combie and to find out where you'll adventure to next. ♡
Living on the edge with you through this epic video! I’m going to AK next week and I won’t get to experience most of what you have traveled, thank you so much for encouraging others to JUST DO IT!
Kombi Life ... excellent series! I discovered you two with the Central American episodes. I have yet to see the earlier ones. VERY generous to give your Kombi away and have one suggestion regarding that ... Have a legal document drawn up in which the new "owners" will agree to donate it to the RV Museum (in Indiana??) once they have finished their own enjoyment of it. This is an iconic vehicle with a very interesting story to tell (particularly, the re-build after the fire) and deserves more people to experience it first hand in the museum. Just a thought! Well done and wish you well in your next adventure. Cheers, Steve
What an amazing journey - full of incredible adventures. 😁. We are all going to miss Alaska and The Kombi 😞. Can’t wait to see where you are off to next!
one of the most exiting travel series I have ever seen. absolutely fascinating... there is nothing to say... thank all characters I love during the 1st episode to final one ( shon from ausi, lea from ausi, finish girl who stay during state, and finally ben ). but the thing is at this moment there is only one character, it's only ben. I think if lea or shon with you this channel will be my best choice. BTW thank you for enjoying us... from one of tiny little island....
Re: the Mine. Super cool! You can almost feel the spirits of those adventerous souls who worked the mine, almost hear the machinery whirring. A slight mist and it's complete. It's absolutely incredible to me, man's ingenuity, fortitude and resilience when properly motivated. An unbelievably difficult task to build this past sophistication, leading edge at the time, in a remote wilderness. If there's copper on Mars we will soon find a way. Equally fascinating is how man can leave such stunning tangible achievements to stir with haunting ghosts once the carrot is removed from the stick. If you don't see the majesty and awe in such a place, maybe you should remain in the city. Not judging, just saying. Incredible! Thx for bringing me there with you!
As an Alaskan resident, I can see that you both got the “Alaska “ big! Great footage! You two realize your kayak rip through that glacier, many of us locals have never got to see? What’s really y mind boggling is you barely scratched the surface up here! As you said on your previous AK episode it’s like one giant postcard up here! I still meet people when I travel outside of state and I talk to people and they find out I live up here, they have never been to Alaska and they actually ask me how can I live in Alaska!😂🤣They have no clue! I am so glad you got to see it! I bet you will be back. Next time check out southeast Alaska, mostly ocean islands and fjords, few roads, but we have state ferry boats with car decks and frequent schedules. Check it out.😉👍
Wow! Those glacier caves were freaking awesome! Glad you guys made it out ok haha. Heard a lot of those can be a bit dangerous these days. Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing! - Shane
Hey Kombi Life! You guys are so awesome and have inspired me so much. The opportunity for me to go to Alaska has arrived and I will be starting a road trip to Juneau next week. I'm new to UA-cam but hope to make some videos of my own. Thanks for helping keep the dream alive!
🙏🏿Thank you for sharing your incredible adventure. Truly amazing and you guys are both inspirational. I hope to meet you guys somewhere on the road travel safe and keep doing what your doing.
Beautiful swan song from Alaska .. you two and 🐶never fail to bring such amazing videos!! Some one mentioned you should try Africa next I think you should go there you will love it! Thank you xxx
I have loved keeping up with your guys’ journey! I want it to go on forever! 😭😝😂 every Saturday morning when I wake up it’s what I most look forward to, watching an episodei. Very inspired ✌🏽

Kombi Life europe next?
Kombi Life would you ever plan to do an African trip?
The whole adventure has been amazing and doing it in an older classic van just made it even better, my personal favorites are central America but seeing you go through my personal stomping grounds of southern California was great and going all the way into Alaska was icing on the cake.
Awesome trip bud but the better last question, Where to next ?
i think alaska is what heaven looks like, just with more angels
This feels like the end of an epic story. Thank you for sharing this adventure. Things like national geographic are cool & all but there are few human touch & connection which make them feels detach. This is truly something special & feels genuine.
God i want more. please do another adventure series.
it would be amazing if you to take the old footage and make a movie length film of all the adventures!!!!
Damn. I was 16 when I started watching this and I'm 21 now. Crazy that its finally done. Congrats guys
I literally started crying after watching this series. Thank you so much for working so hard and showing us, what it means to not give up. I was raped in my high school days and many things happened. Your videos helped me to not give up on life and start from the scratch again. Thank you.

That drive through the mountains of Valdez was breathtaking, and I can't even imagine how amazing it must have felt to kayak through those glaciers.

OMG! Alaska never has been on my list but since this video I want be there one day!
"Yolo" - Mark Twain
I swear these videos get better and better with each one that comes out
Wow going under the glacier, that looked amazing! Great shots and thanks for taking us along the adventure.
-John
cheers John, happy travels
This series is just as beautiful as Alaska!
Missing Alaska so much! McCarthy and Valdez were two of our favorite destinations :)
What an amazing wrap up to an incredible journey!
Great Story! Awesome videos! The Glacier cave blew me away! Thank you both (and Alaska) for sharing your adventure and inspiring us along the way!
You’re welcome, thanks to you.
The best UA-cam Channel! Watched all the videos!
It's over this is genuinely so sad but a beautiful send off to 5 years of hard work
What an amazing journey - full of incredible adventures. 😁. We are all going to miss Alaska and The Kombi 😞. Can’t wait to see where you are off to next!

Wow! You guys are so amazing, you both honestly inspire me to go see the world and write my own story.
Inspirational
Best Channel on UA-cam - Can't wait for another series.
one of the most exiting travel series I have ever seen. absolutely fascinating... there is nothing to say... thank all characters I love during the 1st episode to final one ( shon from ausi, lea from ausi, finish girl who stay during state, and finally ben ). but the thing is at this moment there is only one character, it's only ben.
Incredible! Thx for bringing me there with you!
you welcome Jeffrey, thanks for sharing the adventure with us
As an Alaskan resident, I can see that you both got the “Alaska “ big! Check it out.😉👍
Sounds incredible. We would love to check that out. Thanks for the recommendation.
you guys should have many millions of subscribers ..
Wow! Those glacier caves were freaking awesome! Glad you guys made it out ok haha. Heard a lot of those can be a bit dangerous these days. Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing! - Shane
