When a British rock band optimises the 'Bakersfield Sound', priceless.
Huh?
Nailed it
@@elizabethhadfield9254 Maybe you should Google it.
The only thing missing is Don Rich.
@@elizabethhadfield9254 Bakersfield became known as "Nashville West" for a time, with artists like Buck Owens and Merle Haggard, among others: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakersfield_sound
One never forgets Bakersfield -the girl w/far away eyes -mick your so very right! Ha! Who'd think it? Ha!🎉🎉🎉
Acting or not, Mick did a great job with this promo. The facial expressions are priceless. What a great time in life and I was happy to be living through-out their entire career.
Good point!
Me too, their entire career.
I've never seen someone chew the scenery in a music-video before this.
lawrence gibmeyer you know they were on heroin in this video right? those expressions is mick nodding off lol
@@stephanodestructobeam3872 and that makes it less funny how?
Well, I am for one! The Stones were always one of the greatest Country bands this side of Nashville.
I love this album and especially this tune. No doubt the stones are the best there ever was. 🤟✌️👍
RIP, Mr. Watts. Eyes from far away are rather misty tonight thinking about your contributions. My ears can't thank you enough. Cheers, mate.
R.I.P Charlie Watts. Thank you for getting me through my wild wild teen years. You will be missed
ditto!!
Ohms, Charlie Watts. Volting the Joules on wild horses - Satisfaction.
Woods' steel guitar, Mick's grin and "Yup!"...
PRICELESS.
Que locos verlos. Yescharlos en 16 super
Priceless. Find a girl with far away eyes!!!! Love You 😚💋🤣💯
What a wonderful and very pretty woman ,hello my darling ?
Me ! , March 21 - 2024❤
I've been listening to thos since I was 12yrs old. It just doesn't get old to me. It seems the older I get the better it sounds. Still loving it
Me too! That's when I first heard the Some Girls album. Can't say that I fully understood it, but I thought it was funny. Going to see the Stones in November. Thank ya lawd!!
Isn't it funny that this version is recorded live in the studio? Not many bands could almost replicate the album cut live...not today, anyway.

More country than anything on country radio today
Hear, hear!
That’s the truth! More country than the pop country that all sounds the same!
God Bless tha Rolling Stones 💜
Well said Sir! Well said.
Dude this plays on Outlaw Country on Sirius XM.
As far as the greatest country song ever written this walks all over You don't have to call me by my name, great song
I'm 77 and huge fan! Far Away Eyes is my all time fave!
I love how Mick,s facial expressions go when he,s singing this song, georgous🤗👍
TY
I have those far away eyes for sure.
A SING That TOUCHES EVERY SOUL.. TIMELESS
One of my top 5 Stones songs
The Stones. One of if not the greatest band of all time. Playing classic Bakersfield country music with hilarious lyrics, Ronnie on the steel pedal, all having a blast trying to hold back the laughter. The look on Charlie's face at 1:43 puts me over the top. Awesome..!
And Keith, at several other moments (2.05)
It all screams "it's not me ! It's Mick ! Mick made me do it !
_And my bank account_
Those lyrics are so ridiculous. They make me laugh.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥇🥇🥇🥇🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
Love how if they do a ballad, a rock and roll song, a country song, a blues song, or a samba, it's always unmistakably a Stones song
I always have the Rolling Stones by my side.
I love this song. I laughed when he was fighting cracking up at the lines thank you Jesus, thank you lord.
Waiting on a friend is another song I love.
If you had just one group to to listen to forever, wouldn't it be the stones?
Without hesitation or reservation...absolutely Yes! I'm 72 this year and I've heard them all.
No, it would be the Allman Brothers Band.
"listenin to colored music on the Southern radio station!"
must have been in Alabama!
#farawayeyes
@@BrianCarnevaleB26 😄 I've actually been to Bakersfield many times, but didn't know there was a "colored radio station".
I feel like the Rolling Stones can do almost any genre of music and do it well. They're just so damn versatile.
Not really

The Stones "can" play country! Amazing! Do you all know this song was #1 on the pop charts and #1 on the country charts at the same time! Incredible!
I didn't know, really cool.
This is the best song by the Stones
I didn't know that either!! That's crazy cool!! Thanks for the info!! Peace!!
My daughter is 14. This is her favorite song. She belts it every single time. When music was real music. None of this lil Kim wap shit.
Quality work produces quality tunes, time and again-the Rolling Stones.
My favorite Stones song.
Love the Rolling Stones. I'm the youngest of 8 girls and 2 boys , grew up listening to the Rolling Stones, zztop, Santana, Eagles, CCW, and so many more, now I hear their music and it takes me back memories of such a beautiful childhood, none of these generations will never live such wonderful times
I have been 30 a couple times now. This is Stones, it is rock, it is country. I have actually heard it on the radio while driving through Bakersfield. It is priceless.
30 q couple of times?? Sooo, u over 37, right??
Long live the rolling stones
Mick Jaggers voice and facial expressions in this song is awesome. Rolling with the Stones 🎶🎸❤️
Thank You!
These guys can play any genre of music they are epic.
Apart from reggae, just like Led Zeppelin & Eric Clapton.
@bingsinatra5283 Stones do play reggae on various albums check it out.
@@ianaldridge4778 They tried to play reggae, but truly sucked at it. Cherry Oh Baby is probably the worst.
