Well, now you HAVE to do the next 2 videos of this set 1st Warpigs and then Paint it Black (both has Ren in the red suspenders) you will NOT be disappointed. Ren said they recorded directly from the amp, iPhone for the drums and separate Mike for the crowd… and the crowd is partly their followers and partly as busking is big in the UK, and people appreciate good music 😁… ps thanks for your reaction 😊
If you're falling in love with The Big Push street performances (which anyone with an ounce of life in their soul does), please please please please don't overlook the one titled Wade In the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble So Hard. It's not from this same day (ie, Ren's not wearing red suspenders for it) so I think it gets overlooked (because Red Suspenders Ren is widely acknowledged to be some incredible performances so people seem to gravitate to those videos). Romain, the guitarist, is the 2nd mic doing harmonies on this one. The crazy thing about The Big Push is that even though Ren is clearly an incredible (INCREDIBLE) guitarist, Romain's a guitar wizard and I think is technically the lead guitarist since Ren does more lead vocals than Romain. But all 3 guitarists trade roles back and forth - Ren does AMAZING bass guitar on the Wade In The Water track I mentioned above, and Gorran (the regular bassist) plays guitar when Ren plays bass.
I love the mash up they do of Black sabbath… they are having really good fun in that one… I think they play it after this one because Ren says it’ll be like a kick in the face after a massage… usually a shop has power or they use battery packs
I'm pretty sure Ren's decision to rap the DeadPrez track over the Damian instrumental was *on-the-fly* o_O He strikes me as one of those high-IQ (esp. when it comes to music), easily-bored, kinda dudes, so I wouldn't be surprised if he went for this in-the-moment to prevent him getting bored!! You can see a little smile on Ren's face when Romain (the other guitarist) catches on to what he's going for & joins in with the "hip-hop"s. Well done to the rest of the lads for keeping up with what he was doing- I reckon they all did a great job. I wonder if anyone in that random crowd on the streets of Brighton that day understood the high level of in-the-moment performance they were being treated to?! LOL The other 2 captures from that same day are also great - a "War Pigs" (actually a Sabbath/Ozzy mashup, with a wee surprise), & finally "Paint It Black" with Gorran taking the vocal lead. I cannot see y'all not enjoying the rest of that day. ;)
@6:00 "Where does the power come from?" I wonder that all the time, I guess they make prior arrangements, or they bring their own which seems unlikely. It is amazing how electric busking just happens in the street :)
Brighton is very supportive of street performers and has special; areas where buskers are encouraged to play. Ren used to announce their shows on social media and recently the police had to close the road because so many people turned up. For a first-time reaction , however, you may want to do the official video.
The Big Push have some killer covers on UA-cam & you'll get a ton of requests for all of them. Please don't stop or stick to just covers, this band has way too many 🔥original's to choose from. The Big Push - Sweet Little Lady (live acoustic) The Big Push - Watch Out (live) The Big Push - Xbox Marijuana The Big Push - Why My Woman? The Big Push - Icarus The Big Push - Dignity The Big Push - It's Alright The Big Push - All My Heroes The Big Push - Swan Song The Big Push - Oh My Woman
Romain had a Mike on the side but girls there obscure it. All three guys sing backup at times. There is a Mike by drums on another tune in the same set that Goran uses.
The Big Push seems to do more medleys than straight covers, but even their covers have their own twist ‐ see Buzzcocks' "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)" or "Love will Tear Us Apart." The "War Pigs" busking is also a medley (Black Sabbath with a touch of Rage Against the Machine) P.S. I read they use Zooms during their live performances, but (& correct me as I don't understand what I read) also aggregate audio from friends' recordings of the performance
Thanks for that additional info, hadn’t noticed that till you pointed it out! + note to reactors (loved this reaction btw): On the next track of this set (Warpigs), you’ll actually see Gorran using that extra mic as he joins Ren in the harmonies of the Paranoid-section of that song/medley. Don’t make the mistake I’ve seen so many reactors do which is to reduce this entire band to just a couple of sidekicks for the only real talent being Ren. That type of thinking is just shortsighted and totally inaccurate: these 3 guitarists fi are actually all great vocalists + songwriters as well (both Goran & Romain have their own solo work worth checking out) and to make it even more interesting: all 3 are skilled multi-instrumentalists on top. Check out ‘Wade in the water’ if you want to see Ren on bass with Goran on acoustic guitar (+ Goran is also singing solo in last part of that one). But that just one example out of so so much great stuff out there: - from their covers I myself particularly love ‘king of the bongo’. If you never heard the original Mano Chao/Mano Negra song tho, i recommend listening to that version before diving into the cover: you’ll get a far richer experience, a deeper understanding of the song/cover and basically a much better reaction as a result - or just avoid that one entirely: as long as you spare us another one of those “I don’t know the original song, but this cover sounds nice”-reaction (I wouldn’t expect that type of reaction for you guys however, judging from this reaction alone, you seem to know your stuff quite well - this is just my own frustration seeping through after watching a few too many totally crappy reactions to that otherwise sublime cover, sorry) - from their original work you might like to try ‘Swan song’. But as said: there is a bunch of great Big Push performances on YT, you really can.t go wrong with any of them…. ✌️
Please do a reaction to 'Kasey Chambers - Lose Yourself (Eminem Cover) LIVE @ Civic Theatre, Newcastle AU', I know you'll love it. Two clues; a #1 AUSSIE Country Singer & a BANJO

Was Watch Out done on the same day as the others? I really like the live busking version of their original song Watch Out.
@@anniedh600 Yes It was in-between bush pigs and paint it black
Yep. Everything from this set needs to be done. The 'Red Braces Session ' you might say
I think you'll find they use Cube battery powered amps made specially for busking.
Romain has some amazing solo tracks out there, too! He sings, writes, plays piano, etc. Impressive!
Romain Axisa has his own music Turn the lights down or love without feelings
Oh and I’m so pleased that the Big Push have now put their busking on Spotify…❤️👍🇬🇧

Iv already seen this reaction but had to rewatch it as it’s my fave performance of theirs 🖤

Try The Big Push "Bongo Bong". 3 guys, 2-1/2 guitars on a rooftop. 😁
Such an excellent medley. And all on the street for free. Imagine what they could do on a festival stage!
I love Ren and The Big Push :) Thanks for the great reaction video!!
Please also watch Bongo Bong by the Big Push a cover by Manu Chao. It's like a small jam session on the roof. The drummer is not with them.
Okay I'm subscribing for your Ren/Big Push reactions... please do Wade in the water/trouble so hard... Ren plays bass there and it's awesome.
Thanks for the sub! Check out Wade in the water
