my favourite Red Dwarf moment is Blue Alert in series 6. Rimmer goes mad about the crew needing to be professional in a Blue Alert situation, then when they detect something and Rimmer says "Step it up to Red Alert", its Kryten's reply that has me in stitches. "Sir, are you absolutely sure, it does mean changing the bulb"
They did a rehash of the joke in series 8. Cat: Forget red let's go all the way up to brown alert. Kryten: there is no such thing as brown alert. Cat: you won't be saying that in a minute and don't say I didn't alert you.

Its simplicity, it's bold, stark lines. Pray, what do you call it?" "The lightswitch" "The lightswitch?" "Yes" "I couldn't buy it then?" "Not really. I need it to turn the lights on and off"

I adore this show, I've watched it countless times, and it never gets old. My favourite episode would have to be Rimmer donning Mr Fibbles and the gingham dress during the quarantine.
I remember my Mom watching a PBS marathon of this when I was a kid and we became hooked, unfortunately that was the only time I ever saw it back then. Fast forward to my 20’s and a buddy of mine was obsessed with the series and got me rehomed. As of today I own every episode and special on DVD!
For me, it's the bit in Better Than Life when Lister & Rimmer are having a heart to heart talk after reading a letter notifying Rimmer of his father's demise. Unfortunately, the tender moment is spoiled by the Cat, who has just recovered from Rimmer's appalling cooking. "Aaaaooow! My stomach's has been pumped and I'm HUNGRY!" "Shh, Cat - Rimmer's dad's died!" "...I'd rather have chicken."
My favorite moment in that story was Cat introduces Miranda, a reverse mermaid (fish on top, woman on bottom). Lister says it doesn't make sense, but Cat points out it does, and makes a - - - gesture with his mouth, LOL!!
Lister : ''I want my pea back. It's my pea. I earned that pea. Where is it? I don't care if it's on the floor all covered in fluff, if it's under the bed with my toenail clippings, I don't care where it is -- it's my pea, I earned it, and I'm going to eat it no matter what!.'' Rimmer : "It flew off into your dirty-sock basket." Lister : "I'll just have the toast."
I would have to say the Inquisitor episode. If you want to reflect on what you're doing with your life, ask yourself what you would say to the Inquisitor to justify your existence. That episode had an underlying deeper theme beneath the laughs that characterised some of the best episodes of the show, Back To Reality being another example of this. Season 5 was absolutely incredible.
Kryten has always been my favorite character. One of his best moments is in Tikka to Ride when he realizes he and his crew mates are in the Dallas Book Depository. Robert Llewellyn's cartoonish doubletake is priceless.
I love Red Dwarf as much as I do Star Trek TOS and Doctor Who. I think this scene is my all-time favorite: In "Kryten", when the lads go to the Nova 5 to rescue the girls, and they see the state of them. I just about wet myself laughing! Lister to Rimmer: "I think the blonde one's giving you the eye."
I love Red Dwarf. Some of my favourite moments (in no order): 1. Cat taking a dump behind a bush in the backwards universe 2. Cat singing "Tongue Tied" You are right about it being catchy. The moment of Red Dwarf I quote all the time is during an emergency in Starbug where the have called a "Blue Alert"... As things escalate, Rimmer insists on going to red alert. Kryten looks at him dead pan and says "Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb"
Not to mention Cat declaring a brown alert, which is immediately shot down as "There's no such thing as a brown alert". The reply from Cat is hilarious: "Y'all going to see that in a minute, and don't say I didn't alert you!"

I think when he says 'isn't that right bigjie badgie' ( then goes to cat talking to me is the funniest moments of red dwarf outside of the rimmer experience ). Funnier ofc is lister truly believed that was going to work, lol and krytens reaction.
Backwards, at the end of the episode when Lister and Rimmer are about to board Starbug and Lister realizes what Cat is about to do in the bushes …too late! Danny John-Jules look of disgust, followed by the awkward walk and his declaration of “Don’t ask!” were the single funniest bits of the entire series.

It's impossible for me to pick a favourite Red Dwarf moment because they're all just so good, maybe if I had to pick I'd say either Rimmer in the gingham dress in Quarantine or the reverse bar room fight in Backwards!😄
The peak of Red Dwarf, for me, was series 3 and 4, with 5 and 6 not that far behind. But as consistently good as 3 and 4 are, my favourite episode is Gunmen of the Apocalypse. White Hole is an extremely close second

My fav red dwarf moment is from The Last Day (series 3) Kryten: "You would risk your lives for me, yet you would gain nothing from it. Is this the human emotion you call friendship?". Lister (Seriously hungover): "Ktyten, it's too early in the morning for all this Star Trek crap!".
I think the video message from the representatives of the Vindaloovian Empire to the psychotic Simulants might be my favourite Red Dwarf moment. “Is that not right, Bhindi Bhaji?”
There are so many: Toasty talking to Holly after she becomes a genius in White Hole. The Lateral Thinking question from Trojan. The ending of Queeg. Lister finding an edible pot noodle in Angels and Demons. The feast in Legion. The list could go on and on.
How about the scene where Lister's looking out the prison widow, describing seeing Winnie The Pooh being executed by firing squad. You don't see anything, but Lister's commentary of the event is great.

I remember watching episodes of this show that my family taped off the TV when I was a kid. After I watched it as a kid for the first time, I not only loved the show from there on, but I would watch the tape almost every day because it was that funny. My favorite episodes are the Quarantine episode, Demons and Angels, Welcome to Reality,( I hope I got that name right), Legion, the episode with the emohawk, and of course the famous Backwards episode. Seeing that episode as a kid really cracked me up, seeing everything from people eating and drinking backwards to the bar fight in reverse was just hilarious🤣🤣. My favorite line from the Quarantine episode is where Rimmer saids "Well we know what to get you for Christmas, a double lobotomy and 10 rolls of rubber wall paper." This show is so underrated. And I love it.
I am fifty years old and this is one of my ten favorite series of all time. Watching this on Saturday nights on Georgia Public Broadcasting fundraisers with my friends stoned out of our minds are some of my favorite memories.
I’m from Australia and this is my all time favourite show even though almost no one I know watches it. One of the funniest moments for me is when Kryten is getting a psychiatric evaluation in Back In The Red and describes the nano bots 😂
There is one from the Cat I really like, goes something like "If he's you and you're him, how do I know I'm me, and if I'm not who's eating this chicken"
My absolute favourite part of the series is when the emohawk sucks out everyone’s personality and Rimmer becomes the quiche loving hippie who spells out clitoris as a group name! The scene where Starbug gets intercepted by the Hologram ship where Lister eats his cigarette is a close second
Gutted that Rimmer's better dead than smeg moment didn't get a mention here. If Red Dwarf had ended there, could have been one of the best ever endings to a show.
Number 10 Everybody's dead Dave is something I will never forget. Years ago I would go home for the weekend to watch Doctor Who. The channel always had some show on before it and I'd usually watch it. They started showing Red Dwarf and when I watched Dave tasting little piles of ash and then the computer telling Dave everyone was dead I fell in love with the show instantly. Even my mother cracked up over it.
There's very little about Holly in there, who was an extremely funny character. My favourite moment is the ending to Queeg in series 2. I won't detail any spoilers. I'll just say if you haven't watched it, go and watch it now!
I think my favourite Red Dwarf moment is Lister teaching Kryten how to lie in "Camille", but a very close second is the crew meeting scene from "Polymorph". I can't imagine why that would be absent from this list, unless it has something to do with the abbreviation for Rimmer's personal favourite name for their group, the "Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society" ;-)
"Red Dwarf" is really a great series. I never know which one is better, this one or "Yes, Minister"/"Yes, Prime Minister". My favourite Red Dwarf sequence is the Rimmer museum with the Rimmer song from season 7.
My fav episode was wax world specially the scene where winnie the pooh getting executed with the way lister explains to cat what just happened and disturbed look on lister's face was lol
Marooned is still one of my favourite RD Episode. The best part is when Lister takes his guitar out from his hiding place and Rimmer checks the inside of his campherwood trunk
Holly’s April Fools joke with the replacement personality. On the same ice planet, Dave switched a cutout of his guitar for the fire. The selection of replacement heads on the shelf for Kryton. “There’s an old saying in robotics, 100110010010100…” 😂
or rimmer in listers body, crashes starbug pretends to lose his arm then says even worse i have broken your guitar holly and cat look at each other and burst out laffing
Tikka to Ride is my favorite. The idea that JFK was the gunman one the grassy knoll is simply hilarious to me. As is the gang jumping up and down on Lister inn the final scene. Time travel shenanigans to fulfill the need for a vindaloo...Kryten serving barbequed dead guy...knocking Oswald out the window... Classic!
There are so many great moments from this iconic science-fiction Emmy Award winning British sitcom Red Dwarf like from this episode, Camille. LISTER: You CAN! KRYTEN: I CAN’T! LISTER: (Picks up the banana again.) Look! What’s this?! KRYTEN: No! LISTER: What is it? KRYTEN: Please! LISTER: Come on, what is it? And this famous quote, KRYTEN: He’s Mister - LISTER: No no no, come on, he’s a - KRYTEN: He’s a smeee… LISTER: Yeah, come on! KRYTEN: He’s a smeee… LISTER: He’s a - KRYTEN: He’s a smeee… LISTER: He’s a - LISTER holds up a “flash card” which reads “SMEG.” KRYTEN: He’s a smeeeg… LISTER holds up another card, next to the first one, which reads “HEAD.” KRYTEN: … Heeaaaad! I did it! It's no wonder why Red Dwarf is so very popular not just in the UK and Ireland, but Worldwide, especially in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Look, I don’t want any toast, and he (indicating KRYTEN) doesn’t want any toast. In fact, no one around here wants any toast. Not now, not ever. NO TOAST.

The backwards episode is hilarious in its entirety. My wife & I still call each other Smeeee Heeee, from Kryten's attempts at learning how to insult Rimmer.
Some more research needed for Gunmen: It actually won the Emmy, it wasn't just nominated. The Rivera Kid was a gun slinger, not a knife thrower (that was Lister's persona) and Mexico isn't in South America...

“Who would you say thinks of him most fondly?”
“Err, I do”
“And are there no others with whom he’s shared moments of intimacy?”
“Only one, but she’s got a puncture!”
My fav red dwarf moment is from The Last Day (series 3)
Kryten: "You would risk your lives for me, yet you would gain nothing from it.
It's Talkie, Talkie Toaster
Best Red Dwarf moment:
Cat walking around with a spray bottle.
" That's mine, this is mine..."
comes out of a wardrobe says "wont find that on until ne puts his shoes on"
How about the scene where Lister's looking out the prison widow, describing seeing Winnie The Pooh being executed by firing squad. You don't see anything, but Lister's commentary of the event is great.
'He's refusing the blindfold...'
@@stevetheduck1425 or rimmerworld
comes up with an escape plan involving much running and fighting then Kryten says "or we could just use the teleport"
Love these, especially Kryten learning to lie, but I think one of my favorites was the Cat getting access to the food dispensary and ordering "FISH!" and later regretting it as "food escape"
dont touch anything we cant find the self destruct
lister ask for a toffee crisp that sets of the countdown
cat say that was a very stupid thing you did
@@philiprice7875he is very lucky he did not order a double cheeseburger
This show made my childhood… (1998 was the year I was born so I had the tapes followed by countless dvds) but mine is the Rimmer song.
Watching this on Saturday nights on Georgia Public Broadcasting fundraisers with my friends stoned out of our minds are some of my favorite memories.
... And get him out of that damn nappy!
I'm watching you Ghandi!
My favourite line is from 'Legion':
Rimmer : Step up to red alert.
Kryten : Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb.
I’m from Australia and this is my all time favourite show even though almost no one I know watches it. One of the funniest moments for me is when Kryten is getting a psychiatric evaluation in Back In The Red and describes the nano bots 😂
"everyone knows where they were the day Cliff Richard was shot" classic.
I like when Lister plays pool with planets. The earlier "So, what is it" scene is good, too.
My favourite was Rimmer World 😅
Take me to your leader...
I AM HEEEE 😅
I think my favourite Red Dwarf moment is Lister teaching Kryten how to lie in "Camille", but a very close second is the crew meeting scene from "Polymorph". I can't imagine why that would be absent from this list, unless it has something to do with the abbreviation for Rimmer's personal favourite name for their group, the "Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society" ;-)
I met Chris Barrie and I have a signed photo 😊
I heard he charges £20 a photo
@@scobeyrowley5115 I paid £15
The Vindaloo monster should have been included in this list. A lager killing a vindaloo was priceless.
My personal favourite is “So what is it?”
A great gag using creative use of time and editing.
The Rimmer song, I still have it memorized since I first saw it as a kid in the 90s.
1. Kryten learning to lie
2. Everybody is dead Dave
3. Cat singing "Tongue Tied"
The brilliant comedic originality of "but what is it.... Only joking" has to be right up there
Alphabetti Spaghetti has me laughing out loud every time I see it. And I once watched the episode a few times in one week.
You got Riviera Kid, sharpshooter, and Brett Riverboat the knife thrower, Lister's character, mixed up
I love this show, one of my favourites ever! Thank you for the laughs 😁
"Red Dwarf" is really a great series. I never know which one is better, this one or "Yes, Minister"/"Yes, Prime Minister". My favourite Red Dwarf sequence is the Rimmer museum with the Rimmer song from season 7.
Is RD a parody of sci-fi drama shows such as Star Trek? Or is it like Star Trek with jokes?
It’s more just Sci-Fi blended with sit-com so I guess the latter
But it never taking itself too seriously with the sci-fi
@@KillerMeme I love 3rd Rock - which is that combination. I don't get RD at all.
My fav episode was wax world specially the scene where winnie the pooh getting executed with the way lister explains to cat what just happened and disturbed look on lister's face was lol
10:46 immediately when I saw that I hear rimmers line "you'll bonk anything wouldn't you lister"
Marooned is still one of my favourite RD Episode. The best part is when Lister takes his guitar out from his hiding place and Rimmer checks the inside of his campherwood trunk
Step up to Red Alert.
Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb.
I had blocked out the Rimmer experience...
And you went and reminded me about it...
Thank you WatchMojoUK, Now I have to kill some brain cells.
Yeah. Same..
Bastards.
No favourite moments, it's all bonkers, and I love it....
It would have to be "Human heaven? They just made that up to stop you all going nuts." That entire sequence about Silicon Heaven is just perfect.
Holly’s April Fools joke with the replacement personality.
On the same ice planet, Dave switched a cutout of his guitar for the fire.
The selection of replacement heads on the shelf for Kryton.
“There’s an old saying in robotics, 100110010010100…” 😂
100101101101002
or rimmer in listers body, crashes starbug pretends to lose his arm then says even worse i have broken your guitar holly and cat look at each other and burst out laffing
Don't stand around jabbering when you're in mortal danger
Back to Earth part 3. "YOULL NEVER GET ME" scene at end. Makes me cry
S3:E2--Backwards, the greatest episode ever!
KRYTEN: It’s a b… It’s a b… It’s a small, off-duty Czechoslovakian
traffic warden! (He looks stunned.) And this famous quote, KRYTEN: He’s Mister -
LISTER: No no no, come on, he’s a -
KRYTEN: He’s a smeee…
LISTER: Yeah, come on!
KRYTEN: He’s a smeee…
LISTER: He’s a -
KRYTEN: He’s a smeee…
LISTER: He’s a -
LISTER holds up a “flash card” which reads “SMEG.”
KRYTEN: He’s a smeeeg…
LISTER holds up another card, next to the first one, which reads “HEAD.”
KRYTEN: … Heeaaaad! I did it!
It's no wonder why Red Dwarf is so very popular not just in the UK and Ireland, but Worldwide, especially in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Would you like some toast?
Look, I don’t want any toast, and he (indicating KRYTEN)
doesn’t want any toast. In fact, no one around here wants any toast.
Not now, not ever. NO TOAST.
@@marylynch948 how about a crumpet then?
@@Ravendarkwytch OR muffins! OR muffins! We don’t LIKE muffins around here! We want no muffins, no toast, no teacakes, no buns, baps, baguettes or bagels, no croissants, no crumpets, no pancakes, no potato cakes and no hot-cross buns and DEFINITELY no smegging flapjacks!
@@marylynch948 So You're a waffle man!!
Think I’ve rewatched red dwarf more than anything else now! It just gets funnier….highly rewatchable show!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
OMG The Kiss between Lister and Rimmer in Blue should have got a small mention! lol
The white Hole episode is brilliant
What is it?
Just kidding.
Would you like some toast?😄😄😄
The backwards episode is hilarious in its entirety.
My wife & I still call each other Smeeee Heeee, from Kryten's attempts at learning how to insult Rimmer.
Some more research needed for Gunmen: It actually won the Emmy, it wasn't just nominated.
The Rivera Kid was a gun slinger, not a knife thrower (that was Lister's persona) and
Mexico isn't in South America...
My husband and I will still call people "Dwain Dibbly" and laugh our heads off!
Also, we occasionally throw out a "everybody's dead, Dave." 😂
